The author links issues arising from Rio to the World Council of Churches' process on Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation, focussing on the challenges of rethinking Christian theology of creation and relating this to the vision of a sustainable society. Included among the appendices are documents from the WCC meeting held during Earth Summit in Baixada Fluminense, outside of Rio.

This book is part of a two-volume set of scholarly research by professor Layton. It deals with Sethian Gnosticism.
It is one of the best studies on the Sethians and their cosmovision. Absolutely worth reading.

This is an Anglican classic. Charles I, upon his impending execution, gave a copy of this work along with Richard Hooker's Laws and Lancelot Andrewes's Sermons to his daughter. This is probably one of the best known defenses of the Church of England's raison d'etre based on the primacy of Scripture and the authority of the ancient Church. Laud does a fine job of appealing to these twin sources to convince those in doubt about the authenticity of the Church of England. It is an occasional work, but Laud demonstrates erudition and cogent arguments in favor of what would come to be known as Anglicanism: a Reformed Catholic faith.
