This is one of the classics of Jewish thought that I have glanced at or through more than one time. This year, G-d willing, I hope to have a more serious look at the work. I will do this now at Rosh Hoshanah- Yom Kippur time which is the time we are to think about our past actions, try to understand where and how we must correct them. In this one traditional teaching comes to mind, the teaching of my own holy teacher David Herzberg of blessed memory, who taught that it is never too late, that we can always begin again, that we can always do Teshuvah.
It may be through only one sentence, through one thought but this book hopefully will bring its readers back in repentance, closer to G-d.

Many papers in many different topics related to evolutionary computation. The conference is organized around independent "demes" with the goal of ensuring diversity and respect for emerging ideas. The standards for reviewing are relatively high. However, there are some papers that obviously fell though the cracks, which is probably inevitable in a conference of this size.

I attended this conference in San Francisco and I learned many things in many different areas of evolutionary computation. If you want to learn about the latest in this field, get this collection of good papers. All the papers were reviewed and the conference has a moderate acceptance rate, so there are very few disappointing papers.... I think it is worth it.

The information in this book are very useful for those who work in the phase change and convective heat transfer areas.

Drawn from the 32nd annual Scholar's Conference on the Holocaust and the Churches, The Genocidal Mind is an anthology of writings by learned authors that analyzes mass-murder in the 20th century and strives to explain how elements of a genocidal mentality can be detected in behavior, law, religion, philosophy, literature, and psychology. Essays discuss the virulent hatred spewed by modern individuals such as Ernst Zundel; Christian Hope as a factor in how some Protestants followed Hitler; an "early warning system" that comes as a lesson of the Holocaust; and more. The genocide examined in The Genocidal Mind is particularly focused upon the Holocaust, yet the valuable insight gained is directly applicable to a wide variety of genocidal and potentially genocidal individuals and situations. Especially recommended for Holocaust studies and mass psychology shelves.

I liked this songbook because it has such a variety of songs. It's got some of my favorites, such as "God Bless America," "The Star Spangled Banner," "Michael Row the Boat Ashore," "Amazing Grace," and "This Land is Your Land." If you like these kinds of songs, then I reccomend Get America Singing...AGAIN.

if you want to know how the unprecedented usa current account deficit and "bretton woods 2" stacks up against history, it will be harder to find a better book than this one. Why is the situation the same? why different? what should we expect? these and many more questions are answered in a 4 chapter book that is a MUST read for anyone short the dollar but still a little scared of going up against such large players (the foreign CBs)... the book is meant for people who already have a strong grasp of international monetary theory but no math is involved (so it's a quick read). Well worth the money!

This book is a detailed history of Glorieta Conference Center. The decision to build the center in New Mexico (as opposed to other states) is discussed. There are numerous pictures of the camp in the early days, 1952 and 1953, when it began holding religious conferences. The history of the conference center is described through the mid-1980s.

Northern New Mexico is, in my opinion, one of the most gorgeous places in America. Seeing this area in the first half of October, when the aspen trees have turned golden, is an unforgettable experience.

Prof. K.B. Wolf also contributes a very interesting article in the forward on his experiences leading up and during the conference. The organisational hurdles which he encountered along the way provide an insight into how the world has changed in the last few years. Its almost worth buying just to read about Prof. Wolf's adventure.

Rabbi Irving Greenberg is one of the most original Jewish thinkers of modernity.
The question of the nature and character of Mourning on this day have a traditional meaning and practice. But there has been in modern times a Jewish disaster of incredible and unprecedented proportion , the Shoah. How do we connect the Shoah to this traditional mode of mourning? There is too a question raised now as to the degree of and character of the mourning since the Jewish people have now returned not only to Israel, but to sovereignty in it. There is no Temple but there is a Jewish people living and thriving in the Holy Land. And there is a strong feeling on the part of many that this should somehow alter the character of our mourning on this day.
