This book is good enough that it should be updated to include the major enterprise initiatives; e.g., ecommerce, the role
of eforms in document management, etc.. In the rapid evolution of document automation technologies, 1995 was a very long
time ago.

As an MBA I bought this booking hoping to learn some valuable insights into how to structure, analyze and present problems.
Unfortunately this book simply tell you that these things are important, but gives little in the way of guidance.

I don't know why you would want to buy this book let alone read it. McKinsey's reputation has really diminished in the last
few years. Their consultants are famous for stating the 'bleeding obvious', and if you've worked with them (like I have) then
you'll know what I'm talking about. If you want to learn from the best then study up on Boston Consulting Group and Booz &
Company. They're both in a class of their own and are now considered among the business community as the two most prestigious
management consulting firms in the world. After reading the McKinsey Mind I was left with the impression the firm works at
a basic level of management consulting and really has no idea what it's doing. Save your money and research the methodologies
used by the other two firms I mentioned.

After reading McKinsey way, I immediately went out and bought this book. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of good stuff
in here, but I was just not impressed. I think I will reread it, and see if I can draw more from it, but the chapters were
not interesting in the first read through. No strategy book is a complete waste, and I got a lot out of it, it was just not
what I expected.

Big name and promise, but poor content. Any aspiring MC can do away without it. If you find it at the road side, just browse
through or couple of visits to yur nearby book shop will serve the purpose. In short don't buy.

Not very useful if you are looking to improve your business. Would appreciate a deeper evaluation and more robust case studies.
Seems as if authoer is using re-treads of basic McKinsey axioms over and over again. The 80/20 rule...seriously? This is
not worth buying the book.

I found this book to give details on how I can detect a fake piece of pottery. I did enjoy the authors description and discussion
on the various difference due to color. I have bought three of Jim Jenkins books and I have enjoyed each one. I do recommend
this book to novice collectors. As we look at the more expensive lines, we will need other avenues to detect fakes, because
reproduction is so prevelent.

This book is a waste of time, money and trees. I expected some insight to help determine well made Roseville fakes from the
real thing. I found nothing useful in this book what so ever. There is no mention of bottom marks, pattern differences or
size reduction that happens when pieces when reproduced from an original and all of THOSE things matter. Instead the reader
is treated to a rambling narative that repeats over and over, that someday X-rays may become cheap enough to determine only
the most expensive pieces from reproductions. GET REAL, most of us don't need or want that kind of hassle when real methods
are available to make determinations in the here and now. I nearly became a book burner over this crap, instead I'm returning
it to Amazon so that they can level tables and chairs with its pages. sway

I read this pamphlet it 10 minutes and learned almost nothing that I didn't already know. I didn't have high expectations,
given that fact that it is only 36 pages, but I did expect to get something out of it. There aren't even any pictures.
The author provides no evidence of any expertise on the subject. Don't waste your money.

I have bought and read several books that were nothing to write home about but never felt the urge to write a review about
them. This book is an exception to that rule.
I would not recommend this book to anyone, not even my enemy.
From my point of view, this author does not appear to have enough experience in consulting. Most of the stuffs he mentioned in this book were common sense/knowledge to even anyone not into computer. He failed to provide any significant info. His style of writing was like hiding info from the reader or he does not have any experience whatsoever on what he's writing about.
Please don't waste your time on a book where all the author has to say is that you have to work hard to be a successful consultant -do I need to buy a book to tell me that?

I can not imagine this book can have a 4th edition. It is full of empty words, not any practical help. I believe the author
has very narrow computer consulting experience. Totally waste of money and time.

This book is not the best on the subject, I was a little upset about this purchase. Through out the book he makes these comments
"..we'll discuss this more in chapter X" or " ...like we said in chapter X" I count 143 lines of these and gave up, it became
aggravating and I stopped reading the book.

I am afraid that I must agree with the other reviewers. This book had the potential to be a decent reference, but the information
is choppy...the "will be covered in a later chapter" stuff will drive you crazy trying to track down all you need to accomplish
simple tasks. There are better books out there.

I can't fully review this book because I threw it out after a few chapters. It's obviously a first effort by someone more
schooled in accountancy than in writing. Every obvious device is employed. The protagonist does every stupid thing you can
imagine. For example: his friend is murdered, he gets his hands covered with his friend's blood, he goes back to his friend's
office while smearing his friend's blood (and his own fingerprints) on doorknobs and stuff. If I can recall, he took the
weapon used on his friend and puts it back in his friend's office. C'mon. How stupid can a book get?

If you are browsing this subject, you probably have already decided that "improving the communication skills of your...people"
is important. Now you are looking for information about how to go about doing that. Keep looking, this article has little
such information. It is a review of one organization's process for going about setting up a program. It is presented as motivation
for the rest of us to set up a program to do the same thing. Well, thanks, but I am already plenty motivated. It isn't the
author's fault. The article is well-written enough and the title is not intentionally misleading. Just realize that there
is no useful content for someone looking for tools and techniques for improving the communication skills of employees. That's
what I was looking for, and I wasted my money.

The authors have succeeded to lure readers with a deciptive title and well-written table of contents. This very wordy text
tells about well-known project and programme planning and management techniques. I have not found in the book any advice,
any empirical technique, on how to allocate resources to complete on time unique tasks of unknown difficulty. I thought the
book would help me plan my scientific projects. I thought it might help me explain to my students how they should plan and
manage their degree projects when they have no previous experience with most of the tasks involved. The book does neither.
No wonder! It is written by management consultants.
