The 70-294 examination on Windows Active Directory is one of the core examinations for the MCSE test. This book is an examination cram book on taking this test. It is now in its second edition which covers Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Release 2 (R2) upgrades of the Windows Server 2003 operating system. In addition, to reflect recent changes in the Microsoft examination regarding security, the sections on security have been dramatically expanded.

Note this book is intended to help you pass the test, it is not a general book on either Windows or Active Directory. This book is not intended for the complete beginner, but for the individual who has been working with Windows Server 2003 for a year or more in a large system installation and now wants a more complete, more rounded coverage of what's going to be on the test.

In addition to the material in the book, the book includes a registration number that allows you to take a practice test at MeasureUp.

I thought I knew Windows 98 until I read this book. The exercises are great, 'cause they teach you to stretch Windows 98 with everything that you do.

This is the absolute best guide i have ever read. It gives detailed facts on all the mechs including the ones from the lousy patch-in-a-box mech paks. Some even have Cyberlore employee custom designs. That is the best part Cyberlore helped them bring this book to its creation.

They include a complete weapons chart broken into three parts for ease of use. Some single player strategies for the missions and Solaris VII along with multiplayer strategies. It gives you the starting equipment and c-bills of each company along with the advantage of that specific company. There is also a list of lancemates for hire. All mission requirements are given along with when they are available and when they will become closed permenately.

This is the guide to buy for all your Mech 4: Mercs needs.

There appears to be a dearth of Painter books about that treat instruction as thoroughly as this book does.

The book provides ALMOST everything I've been looking for ...

1. Introductory walk throughs of the drawer tools and their use.

2. Illustrated exercises that reinforce familiarity with the interface.

3. Extensive professional level projects that reveal the power of this unique program.

What it's lacking though is a section on adapting fine arts to the digital medium. i.e. drawing and painting examples. Granted, if one has a fine arts background, after the 'introduction' you can adeptly create your own art work in Painter. It would have been nice to have some step-by-step examples though.

Aside from that, the book is geared toward the graphic artist and the professional sample projects are excellent.

The SYM-1 is still a vialble single board computer for use in controlling enviorments.

This book will guide the user not only in the use and function of the SYM-1 but also in general single board computer experimentaion.

There are 16 chapters: Chapters 0 through F.

If you own and still use a SYM-1, then you should also own this book.

The author who wrote a flight simulator for the Apple 2 gave us a good book that tells us what the average computer communicated with. It is a great help to the hobbyist who sometimes needs to know why his specialty design isn't a happy anything. Myself included naturally.

Most people will call this a beginners book on microprocessors, but this book gives you all the tools you need to be able to design and use a microprocessor based computer. I used this book in a beginning micrcomp design class, now it is one of the most important reference books in my library. This is a definite must have for anyone who wants to know all they can about computers and how they work.

If your a newbie or a seasoned uC teckie, this book is for you. It's written in a practical, easy to understand way, that I've found to be typical with English technical authors. Even the intro explanations that are normally boring in uC books will hold your interest without nodding off. Then when you get to chapters 4,5,and 6 (Interface Devices,RS232 and other Serial Standards, and LCD Text Display Panels), your going to be rewarded with excellant examples complete with schematics and lots of em. What more can I say? Buy this book!

Among many others books on this topic, this book by Anderson has the most straight-forward but extremly easy-to-understand writing for those who just want to start playing with and learning the micro-processor. It is not just a datasheet, it combines programming, hardware and informations in such a fashion that even primary school students can appreciate the fun and practical aspect of the microprocessor. While for the experience, this book can, however, provide them valuable data and circuits which are hard to find in other books. For a beginer, this is without further consideration, the first book to start with. I am sure you will love this compact but lovely book.
