Take heart, this book leaves you in good hands. In fact, Ephraim Schwartz, the author has taught me virtually everything I know about wireless technology. He is more qualified to inform the masses on matters relating to wireless technology than anyone I know.

I have been involved with electronics as a hobbyist for over thirty years on and off. I own a book from 1985 authored by Mr. Marston. I still read it for his clear, concise and straightforward format. I purchased another book in this current series, 'Passive and Discrete Circuits' from Newnes Pocket Books-Electronics Circuits Pocket Book. It is a small format but it is justified when you see the volume of information contained. You can delve into theory of operation or just build some circuits knowing you have the info to modify, expand and create more complex circuits. If this book was in a larger format it would probably sell for fifty dollars. The size itself I find an asset. It is easily taken with you to read anywhere and has a tough cover to protect it's contents. Truly one of the best electronic books I have purchased at Amazon. The 'Linear IC' book in the series has slightly larger print than that of 'Passive and Discrete Circuits'. I am so impressed with this format from Newnes and the author; I also ordered the other volume in the series 'Digital Logic IC Pocket Book'

Mr. Marston offers a good mix of circuits and theory. If your just looking for circuits to build and move on, your better off with some of the Forrest Mimms's books. If your looking for circuits to build with the info available to modify and design for yourself this is a better purchase.

This is the only book which has explained in great detail all the techniques used in microwave circuit simulation. This is a best buy for anyone who is interested in electronic design automation.

Before reading this book a few years ago, I had been programming in C++ and had yet to really realize reusable software. The excellent thing about this book is that from start to finish, the focus is consistently placed on creating a reusable library of data structures. As such, this is one of the only books I've ever purchased from which I've walked away not only better informed but with immediately useful code developed along the way.

Though the book uses the Eiffel language, it should be easy for folks used to other languages to approach. Much to his credit, Gore takes the time in the beginning of the book to basically hand hold the reader through the code and the exercises. As the book progresses, with each chapter building on the last, Gore gives the reader greater autonomy, until the text centers more on the theory of data structures than the source needed to represent them. I found this approach extremely effective, and wish that more computer books were written in the same fashion.

I've since read a number of books on data structures and OO for a variety of computer languages. If I had to pin down the text that was most useful to me in not only understanding the subject matter but also gaining deeper insights into reusability, it would definitely be this book. I can't recommend it highly enough!

I found the book to be very helpful during my undergraduate courses. As a masters student, I still refer to the book. It gives very good explanations to the basic operation of various op-amp circuits. Together with the well written explanations, the diagrams themselves are self-explanatory.

Generally a well organized and written book!

I'm a 3rd year electrical engineering student who thoroughly enjoyed this book. It covers all aspects of Op-amps as well as the support chips. I, as well as all of my class mates, found it easy to follow as well as extremely informative. I would highly recommend it to ANY E.E. student as well as instructors.
