Clip Art Books

I like most of the silhouettes in this book and most of them are simple enough for me to cut out. For me, it was worth the price.

Although the content of this book overlaps other collections by Carol Belanger Grafton, it displays a wide variety of motifs and typography from the Renaissance to the Victorian era. Professionals may be dismayed that some of the more ornate alphabets are incomplete, and that for unexplained reasons, the letter "j" hardly ever shows up. A beautiful and intricate alphabet of letters designed to look like building blueprints is only complete for the letter "A". The end of the book is filled with other alphabets which are banal compared to what the cover seems to offer. Still, like most books compiled by Grafton, this one offers a wide and useful choice of good quality intricate line drawings. If this info were available on CD, like other Dover publications, it would make life that much easier.

Celtic Stecils has good designs, but should have a clearer warning that it's not for Windows Home Prem. I managed to unload the designs any way.

This book is an excellent choice for anyone who is implementing activities for church youth. The author has made it convenient in that you can copy 2 pages and have a 4 half page-front back document for children, that could be separate from your regular weekly bulletins for adults. However, if most parishes/congregations are like mine, the adults look forward to these activities also, and these bulletins can be placed in the mid-section of your bulletin book, or one puzzle can be inserted (cut-paste). There are a variety of different puzzles, not just word search, mazes, etc. I truly love this book.

this book has about twice as many graphics as i've found in similar books. It contains a wide variety of themes, and most themes (people, animals, flowers, etc) are covered extensively. The graphics range from simple to complex. A great book for variety of subject matter and style.

I was able to take this clip art and modify the vector files to accommodate my design. There was a decent variety to choose from as well. Plus it was cheap.

This book has been such a time saver! I have found inspiration for so many completely different projects. It is one of the most versatile books to have in any art resource collection. The borders were the feature that initially impressed me most, but I have since referred to the alphabets, and a whole host of graphics. Even long after I had purchased the book (and scrutinised it many times over) I was still finding clips that I had not noticed before.

I have searched high and low for illustrations for church bulletins and newsletters. Most are stiff and pious or cute and hoaky. This artwork portrays biblical stories and church life today in very human, very useable graphics. The graphics have a casual iconographic character that shows good influence from Hispanic traditions. As a Lutheran pastor, a few of the graphics are a little too strongly Roman Catholic in their themes for my use, but the vast majority are very useable by almost all denominations. I am frequently asked for my source for these graphics.

I have found this to be a valuable source of simple images and cartoons. It is lacking in science drawings and there is no indexing. The use of the CD-ROM is simple and good for beginners.
