Training Companies Books

In the past, I've bought some books and CD tutorials to learn different programs. This one is by far the best way to learn! The author narrates while demonstrating what he's teaching. This way you get hands on experience as you can see where the tools are and how they are used. You can pause while trying it out in the program yourself.

The only drawback is that I find it really repetitive. I'm assuming that's so you can choose any topic and jump right in. Since it's a beginner's training CD, I'd expect to start from the beginning and follow along in the order the topics are listed.

I would have liked to have seen more on some of the tools that were only briefly mentioned and some settings which were not explained at all.

There are 2 courses for Illustrator 10 by VTC--the other is called Techniques. Some reviews leave you confused as to which is for beginner's or if you really need one. I ordered both and the Techniques one was confusing since I didn't know anything about Illustrator beforehand. If you're a true beginner, this is the training tutorial to purchase.

I've only had it for about a month and I'm happy that I can keep going back over the different sections as I need to until I fully understand them. I am glad I purchased this training CD!

It covers most of the basic features and meets the requirements for the beginners. It would be good if there is a follow-up CD which covers the some more advanced features. Overall, the presentation of the course is clear and I enjoy it very much.

I recommend this book to people who are considering authoring computer based training programs using Macromedia's Authorware. I would like to have seen more dedication to the topic of what makes good computer based training, not how to use Authorware. I author computer based training modules using Aimtech's IconAuthor program

Overall, a good article that will be useful to those working in the field. However, it is clear that this civillian author would find it difficult to make it through any sort of Marine Corps training herself. This author needs a dose of the real world.

Good for beginners, needs better explainations on creating models. Speaker is a little slow.

I bought this "book" (Actually came in loose leaf form in a 3 ring binder) to study before entering commercial diver training. Seems to be the actual text used by my school. Found it very, very helpful, except, reader, be VERY, VERY CAREFUL you MAKE SURE all chapters are there before chucking the packaging and invoice (as I did), as chapters 13-15 were missing from my book. Don't know if this is an ongoing problem with all the books, or if the book gnomes were just playing an evil joke on me that day. Oh well. Otherwise, was very happy and satisfied with content. As appropriate for classroom use ( for which it obviously was originally designed), as for self-study. Has useful end of ch. exercises (with answers). Covers the commercial diving gamut from diving physics to medicine to commercial specializations, such as welding, non-destructive testing, and salvage. Includes helpful anecdotal info on what work offshore (living conditions) is really like. Overall a great book!

This is a great book to practice different situations with your friends or read on your own. It shows you different SOAP charting, nurses notes, doc orders, pt H&P. All the same info as you would find in a chart, you can learn how to read it, how you can write it yourself. Situations are general (most common) diseases you learn about in the beginning of classes. This is the exact same book one of my instructors used for us.

This training cd is for people that have never work within 3ds Max, it covers some of the basics and an introduction of the max interface.

The main objective of this product is just to get to know the basics of 3ds max, like moving objects, scale, some modifiers, it covers also lightning, rendering, animation, texturing, but just the basics, again, this product is intended for beginners, because it focuses on teaching the basics to get confortable on the workflow of 3ds max.

CD and DVD tutorials are the way to go. This CD is no exception, providing readily available training 24/7. The lessons are short, clearly illustrated using Mac windows (for the most part). As a Filemaker user for my small business, I've developed several databases over the years that have basically met my needs and those of a small number of networked users. However, with version 7, I decided to re-do my databases with the eventual goal to make them available online to a "virtual" workforce. Jesse's CD, along with the solutions databases that Filemaker includes with the upgrade, has given me insight into new ways to organize, display, and consolidate my data.

You won't glean all the nuggets in one sitting. In fact, designing a structure with a beautiful interface and layouts is a huge investment in time, learning, and forever tweaking. That is simply what's involved if you run a business that relies on data. That said, I'm sure to return to this CD many times to get its full value. And speaking of value, you can't find in-person training that takes you from beginner to advanced levels like this all on five inches.

This is a must read for those studying for promotional exam.
