The book covers diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of the injured athlete.

Although geared towards the primary care physician, this book is also useful for professionals who work with patients in rehabilitation: athletic trainers, PTs, Pilates instructors. It allows them to become familiar with the standard treatment protocols for sports injuries.

This book is a must read for everyone in Human Services and should be on the list for aging BabyBoomers - not only isn't there going to be any Social Security for us, there won't be anyone to work in the nursing homes and retirement centers either!

Dr allsen shows why his books on exercise and fitness have sold many millions of copies. his strength training book is no different. In a very understandable way he oulines what a weight lifter or trainor needs to know to set a individualized strength training program. The programs can also be designed to fit any individual need of the person from powerlifters to athletes of any sport this book provides the tools to establish your own strength training program. this book is a good read I would recommend it to anyone with and interest in strength training.

Excellent book to read before and during medical school. Good mix of humor and reality.

The VTC Training CD by Michael Hurwicz for Swift 3D is terrific. The information is systematically and carefully presented. Hurwicz moves at a good pace, clearly showing and explaining each action he takes. The interface fills the screen as we are guided through each of the components. Some video instruction can be very muddled but this is a superior product in several ways, including good audio quality. This can be a terrific alternative for visual learners, or an addition to reading manuals (I have found few books that even address this program). I found it really helps to have the Swift 3D program open-- hit pause on the instruction-- and actually practice each step as or after you see it; it makes actual skill training (not just the theory half) surprisingly easy. I am very satisfied with this purchase and gladly recommend it.

This book provided me with the functional information that I needed in my first year of teaching Adapted Physical Education. It gives orderly steps to planning and writing an Individual Educational Plan.

I thought this book was one of the best books I have read on teaching adults with learning disabilities. The book is clearly and simply written. It provides insight into a variety of learning problems, along with compensations and strategies that teachers and tutors can apply effectively in lesson planning.

As a trainer & facilitator with more than 20 years of experience, I have read and/or utilized dozens of books & notebooks such as this one, and unfortunately most of them are disappointing. The same exercises, perhaps with minor variations, seem to inhabit the contents of most "New" activity books available. One stand-out exception to that is "Team Development Games for Trainers" by Roderick Stuart. Although I am familiar with literally thousands of activities, games, and trainer tools, most of the ones in this volume were new to me. Hooray!

In addition to the actual "teambuilding" activities themselves, you'll also find ideas to address a wide range of skills associated with team development, such as assertiveness, communication, creativity, decision-making, listening, planning, problem solving and time management. Each activity is presented in a standard format, with an indication of objectives, timing and group size and detailed step-by-step guidance for the trainer or team leader.

The ring-bound format makes it easy to carry just the pages you need for the day, and to make copies for participants when necessary. Now if they'd just add a cd-rom to the package...

This book contains many helpful things for players and especially coatches in Team Handball. You can find almost everything about this sport I have ever heard of. Since I was born I live with this sport (my father was a professional, now he is a coatch and I am an active player) so I can only tell you: buy it, read it and learn from it becouse there are not many books of this kind. This book helped me to rise my game on a higher level.

This book is easily the most comprehensive of its type on the market. The paperback price is a bargain when considering the volume of instructive text and hands-on exercises that can be done with teams at all stages. Don't pass this one up!
