This is a great reference book for any soccer coach. This "go-to" wealth of information will be something you refer to even if just for new ideas.

I am a medical assistant student in a community college in New York. This is the text book that we are using in our classroom. We love this book it is easy to use and understant. I will use it as a referent when I graduate.

I am a Middle School teacher in the Virginia Beach School system. I bought the training CDs in order to train myself so that I can teach other Business and Instructional Technology teachers how to use this powerful program. These vides clips have got to be the fastest and most efficient way to learn the PSP X tools and user interface. Thanks for taping them at just the right speed. I have found some other training tapes to be painfully slow.

I like this book very much. Unlike some other books on coaching or counselling, this book focus on plain practical advice that you can immediately use in a business environement. The presentation of the material is well structured and easy to read, mixed with occasional inspirational cartoons & exercise. I especially like that the author not trying to force me to accept a "somehow-invented" theoretical model of human. Rather the author gives advice based on what he practiced as qualified psychologist & trainer. Very good introduction book to this area.

H. James Harrington, Glen D. Hoffherr and Robert P. Reid argue that creativity is not reserved for the few. Rather, it is a skill all humans can develop - if they are willing to step back from their day-to-day routines and focus on their inner lives. This book is a mind-altering system. It is packed with quotes, cartoons, graphs, and exercises to help individuals and organizations realize their creative potential. If the writing seems redundant at times, it is only because the authors want you to be able to open the book anywhere and learn something quickly - and you can. We [...] recommend this book and its CD-ROM package to high-level managers looking to shake things up in the office or in their personal lives. But lower-level employees who want to move up in the world will benefit from it as well.

Do you conduct training in the workplace? Do you measure the training's effectiveness using testing? Do you design certication exams? If so, this is the book for you!

Criterion-Referenced Tests (CRTs), unlike the similarly complicated sounding Norm-Referenced Tests (NRTs), are used to measure individual competencies in skills or knowledge objectives. That is, they're used to determine whether a person "makes the cut" or doesn't. Individual's are not ranked against each other in a CRT exam, and there is no limit to the number of individuals who can succeed or fail. This type of exam is particularly well-suited to measure the learning (at Kirkpatrick's Level II) that took place during training.

All of this is eplored in a straightfoward manner as you are stepped through the entire process of designing competancy exams, including the statistics you need with plenty of examples.

We used to pay lip-service to seeing what our trainees had learned in our professional classes - now we quantify it precisely using this text.

Wow! What an insightful book! This book touches on the very core of many, if not all, organizational or cultural issues relating to empowerment of employee's. A must read for any trainer. Its like reading a step by step recipe for creating or maintaining a positive work enviroment.

This book is still a great resource! Ruth Colvin Clark's work remains one of the most widely quoted resources in instructional design circles, including the instructional design special interest group of the Society of Technical Communicators. While you wait for your copy to arrive, you can peruse some of her work on the macromedia site at http://www.macromedia.com/support/authorware/basics.html. Worth the time.
