Lance Leventhal was one of the best after market documenters of microprocessor architectures in the 1980s. As per all his books, this is a concise (but not overly terse) description of the 80386. (What ever happened to Lance Leventhal?)

This is a very detailed and informative guide to develope you into a IE.4 guru in no time.Lots of screen pics and a glossary of IE.4 terms that you'll be finding yourself using frequently.There are lots of IE.4 guides out but for what its worth and you weigh heavily on these reviews on Amazon.com to choose the best product I must recommend this one to all IE.4 students.

I'm the MIS Manager in my company, so I have to provide good materials to my end users. When I seek some books for guideness, the first thing I check on them is the initial and final index and glossary. Why would you ask? Because the user needs to find topics or tips easier and faster than looking to a generic teme. This book makes me happy, the users are satisfied. Thank you.

I'm not a new Word user, but my office upgraded to Office 2003. I saw things on my screen that I didn't recognize. So, I ordered this book and got my answers. This Task Pane thing is a big change. It keeps popping up. The author explained what it was and how to use it. Thank goodness!

This Book was truly one of those books that I just hung on to. It was precise to the point, and had a good approach to the problems and issues. The Solutions were short and efficient and made me re examine my own code at times. Chris is a good technical writer and knows exactly what developers really want/need!

Let me first start off by saying that this book is *NOT* meant for beginning Access/VB/VBA/SQL users. It is assumed that this book is geared towards intermediate Access/VB/VBA/SQL users.

This book does one thing well in that it knows that DAO is not the future and that ADO is (for the time beginning). It spends plenty of time on detailing ADO for both Access and SQL Server.

I like the fact that it deals with Access front-ends to SQL Server backends. It even takes a chapter from Kalen Delaney's masterful Inside SQL Server 7 book on SQL Server architecture.

All in all, if you consider yourself at least on an intermediate programmer with the aforementioned technologies, this book will not gather dust on your bookshelf.

Este libro es excelente para tener al lado de la computadora mientras se trabaja en una base de datos. Principalmente tuve la necesidad de hacer una tabla con varias consultas y el libro me guio entre las varias herramientas que se pueden aplicar, para facilitar una busqueda. The Dummies series lives on and this small desktop companion is a handy reference. If you're a Dummies series fan, you may benefit more by spending a little extra on this book's big brother "Access 2002 for Dummies" because it goes into more depth than the brief introductions in the "Quick Reference" version.

Perhaps the most handy reference collection we have seen come through our ProCert Labs, Stephen L. Nelson's From A To Z collection of quick reference guides really hits the spot. If you are using a Microsoft Office product (and if you are not: its time you bought yourself a computer), this handy reference guide will prove indispensable.

Stephen L. Nelson has been writing quick reference guides for some time now, and it shows in this series. Organized alphabetically, each guide excludes an index because, after all, it is one. The navigation is easy and gets right to the point. I looked up "Selecting Text" and learned that there are six different ways to do so. I discovered each of the six ways in less than half a page; a testament to the concise and straightforward instruction in store for every reader.

And don't let me fool you; the information available in each guide addresses the complex as well as the mundane. You will find quick reference tidbits on everything from Autoformatting (a bane to every Word user) to managing Text Formulas in Excel (which most of us would use if we knew they existed.)

For you Access jockeys, having the Access 2002 From A To Z quick reference at hand will make Applying Filters as easy as cooking with Ron Popeil. The finer points of PowerPoint are described in understandable detail, and if you are looking to quell your questions about Outlook, you will find them the fastest in this quick reference.

Bonus Situation: MOUS. Aside from being a valuable desktop reference, each quick reference guide includes information about passing the Microsoft Office User Specialist exam, and promises that the guide includes all the information you will need to pass the test.
