I bought Office 2003 Simplified for my college class. I found it to be extremely helpful with refreshing my memory on Excel. Gives step by step instructions on how to navigate through the office programs. I would definitely recommend the book to those who need a refresher course on the programs as well as anyone who is new or computer illiterate.

This material was perfect for my computer class, it has been one of the best books I have seen that actually breaks down Microsoft Office for everyone. It does not only tell you how to do it, but instead shows you. Awsome graphics, great way to get to know the programs we use everyday better.

Thank you.

This single volume boasts of being a simplified approach to learning the basics of Word 2003, and it lives up to expectations. All of the instructions give actual "snapshots" of the computer screen and computer menus to show how to execute various commands. This book gives the basics of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and Publisher.

I bought this book after having owned the editing program for about a year........and suffered all the heartache that can occur if you do not know what you are doing....including crashing Windows.....finally located this superb manual that is user friendly and written by a pro in the field. Since that time, I have produced several projects that are startlingly complex.......and am currently being PAID to produce VHS/DVD productions. A MUST BUY if you purchase Pinnacle Studio 8.

A great help!

I've had this book for less than a day and it's already paid for itself. I bought Studio 8, which now has been updated to version 8.10 (eight point ten, not 1.0). I figured even if the book were good for the very first versions of Studio 8, OK. As soon as you open the book, you see that Jan refers to changes made as recently as v. 8.6; I was thrilled. This is a brand new book/edition. Studio 8 ships with a 258 page manual right out of the box, which is somewhat amazing for a piece of software like this, but admittedly, the manual is very remedial. This book, from the earliest pages, delves into some seriously useful components within Studio. I have a bunch of these Visual QS books; I'm always ammazed at the bang for the buck in every one of them, this one no exception.

Awesome Book!

This book tries to sell itself on the photos of the GUI that you will be using. The photos are a bit small, but good enough when you really need them, which is rare, because the author does a wonderful job of explaining how Pinnacle works. I recieved the software with no documentation and within a few minutes of opening this book I was well on my way to creating DVDs out of some digital movies. The author does a great job explaining both the simple and the complex parts of the software. And refreshingly, the author actually offers opinions on better ways to do some tasks. This is a good buy for anyone using this software.

I have read several books on this topic, but this book was very structured wich made it easy to follow. It gave a very clear explaination on both base- and advanced OOP programming concepts. Many things I'v not read anywhere else and many times I yelled 'AHA!' and 'WOW!'. Yes, it was great fun to work trough all the 'Fun with...' examples.
I really can recommend this book, however NOT if you are a beginner!
I also learned that I'm a Generic Type, because I drink a lot Of T. :)

This book covers what programmers need to know. The pillars of OOP are presented and clear examples are shown.

I refer to this book often because it gets to the "meat" of things rather quickly and is not for beginners.

My only criticism is that this book's examples are 90% console applications. Nobody uses this in the real world. But I understand the focus is on the code, but I still like the Deitel approach better. Use Windows applications NOT console, take the time to get the screen shots. (Just my opinion).

Don't get me wrong, I can easily translate over what he is trying to convey, but still I see great authors such as Francesco Balena showing most examples with the console window. I don't like this trend. But hey that's me.

Very good book though..

This book covers just about everything: The .NET platform; VB language fundamentals; OOP; Assemblies and classes. In each chapter the author gives a simplified example and then progresses thru to a complete module. He explains each step in detail and give many of the most-likely errors.

This is not novices. The author expects some level of programming experience with VB, C, C++ being the best. It is also best for a Visual Studio 2005 environment, though it is not required. If this is you and you are looking to move to VB.NET, this book is absolutely for you.

I wish all programming books were this good.

If you are looking for a Visual Basic book that covers a lot more than books like Wei-Meng Lee's Visual Basic 2005 Jumpstart than this book should be at the top of your list. As well as the basics this book is very good at explaining advanced concepts like Interfaces, IEnumerable Types, Generics, Asynchronous Delegates, and Multithreaded Applications. The author has an excellent writing style. He stays on track, does an excellent job at expaining complex concepts, and provides a lot of hints about how the topic he is writing about now is related to the big picture. Apress should also be commended for the graphical layout of the book. It is very easy to find information on a particular topic in this book as all of the book is divided into clearly labeled short sections.

Matt and Dan's ASP.NET AJAX book is an excellent one. It is packed with useful content, and contains a lot of great code examples that demonstrate real-world usage examples.

The book covers all of the core ASP.NET AJAX Scenarios:

- Server-Side Controls (UpdatePanel, UpdateProgress, etc)
- Client-side libraries
- Networking Stack
- Application Services
- AJAX Control Toolkit

Matt Gibbs is the development manager of ASP.NET at Microsoft, and led the ASP.NET AJAX 1.0 development team - so obviously knows his stuff well. Dan Wahlin is a great trainer and presenter of ASP.NET and ASP.NET AJAX. You are in very good hands with them.

I highly recommend this book.

I have nearly completed my first tour through the book. It is well-organized, written with considerable clarity, possesses a reasonable number of focused examples, and covers ALL the bases in good depth, including deployment and custom controls. Some very minor deficiencies are a scattered few forward references and a muddling of the details of JSON serialization when accessing web services, but the errata and future printings will hopefully clear these up soon.

Thua I strongly recommend it as the FIRST book to introduce yourself seriously to mainstream AJAX 2.0.

Great book from the source!

Just got a copy of this new book on ASP.NET AJAX and it looks great. It should be because Matt is the Development Manager for ASP.NET so he deeply understands the product. He has also worked on several other books and I can personally attest to the fact that he can indeed form complete sentences. ;-)
Seriously, this book is straight from the source and contains good, detailed information about the ASP.NET AJAX release that applies equally well today and in Visual Studio 2008

Must have for Access Developers

Being a seasoned Access Veteran, I found the book most helpful in explaining ADO (New in Access 2000), explaining class modules and using Access with SQL Server. Most MS Press books in the past that have dealt with Access / VBA have been fairly "light" on these subjects, but this one goes in depth on these subjects. Also the chapter on XML does a good job introducing the platform to novice developers.

Next to The Access Developer's Handbook Series by Litwin, Getz etc..and F. Scott Barker's Power Programming, I would say this is a "must have" for any serious Access Developer.

How to Deploy SQL and Web Solutions w/ Access XP

Review Date: 2001-10-05
This book builds on Dobson's prior book "SQL Server with Access 2000" and ferrets out good solutions to some everyday needs like image processing and dynamically populated combo boxes. I'm a small business owner whose time is precious, but needs to get big picture solutions so not to be reworking stop gap efforts to streamline my operations.

Being pressured to grow my application to many users (both trusted LAN and anonymous Web) and being comfortable with the graphical interfaces of Access, I found the the need to learn about programming ADO recordsets, Data Access Pages and ASP while determining the best solution. I have been overwelmed by the flexibility of MS solutions and options that are possible and needed some guidance in plain language to explain such terms as Objects, Properties and Methods, and what they meant to be programmed. Chapter 2 does a good job of that which is followed by a useful summary of the ADO library. Data Access Projects are lined out well along with some practical tips to incorporating SQL Server 2000 as a data source. He further builds upon this model and shows how to dynamically (!) create web pages from the Access Project using MS Frontpage XP, the resultants being Active Server Pages! I have found while the Access 2002 graphical tools are helpful, Dobson explores how to control the code behind the power of the XP Office release.

I have found the code to be tight and well commented. I'd urge anyone interested in harnessing the full power and speed of deployment of Access 2002 and the Office XP suite to add this book to their "How To" library.

This complete reference book is actually three books in

one. It is the clearest available introduction to VBA

coding. It provides explanations with a huge collection

of Access VBA code. And it is a thorough presentation

of what is new and powerful in Access 2002, especially

concerning integration with SQL Server.

This book is just the thing for anyone who wants to

become a serious Access user or developer. It is the

answer to the prayers of many Access users who have

wanted a reference that would finally take them from

the limited GUI Access interface into the more full and

flexible features of VBA coding. The coding in this

very large book is so extensive that I bet you could,

if you wanted to, do every future Access project with

just code and without reference to the GUI interface.

You can tell that Rick Dobson loves to code and to pass

on what he has learned.

The explanations are very readable and give you the

background necessary to actually understand why things

work the way they do. Much attention is given to

keeping you out of trouble by conveying a very clear

understanding of operational issues not covered

elsewhere. This includes successful integration of

different versions of Access and SQL Server, getting

the reference libraries correct, and even using Access

with FrontPage (now included in Office XP

Professional).

If this reference indicates the way Microsoft Press

books are headed, then I am going to look to add more

of them to my reference collection in the future.

Clarity, comprehensive, and Code, code, code!

I have read your book and applied some of the programming methods mentioned in it and found it very helpful.

I have 20 years of software development experience mainly in the
mainframe area both here in Sydney, Australia and Boston, Mass. I recently decided to start my own consulting firm and develop business applications using Access. In the past four months, I have used your book to learn Access in order to develop an
inventory and billing software package for one of my clients. I can honestly tell you that I learned a lot from your book, and I can even say that without your book, I would've not been able to finish the project.

Love Perl but wish it had the ability to work with the .NET framework? Well, this is the book for you! Let me tell you, if you program with Perl, then this book will earn its purchase price again and again. I've always loved the ease of programming in Perl, especially how well it works with sockets and network programming, but these days, you've got to be able to program Graphical User Interfaces. I've never been able to master programming GUI's using Tcl/Tk, but the C# like format of programming Visual Perl made creating Windows Forms a snap. The book gives so many examples of working with the .NET classes in any practical situation. Its got a great format including a discussion of programming with the .NET framework, a strong overview of programming in Perl, and of course the definitive guidelines to programming in PerlNET. It covers creating your own classes, components, forms, database interaction, and working with ASP.NET. It also gives an overview of working with the CPAN modules which is invaluable. The authors are intelligent, well-spoken, and are clearly experts in this particular area. You have GOT to buy this book!

This book was not only extremely valuable to me in understanding how to use Perl in the .Net Environmental, but also contains the best presentation of how to build pure Perl Modules that I have read to date. These concepts really jelled for me after reading and utilizing the examples presented in the book.

With my limited experience in object oriented programming, this book presented the topics in the right order to overcome my lack of OO experience.

I did have a few instances of failing to find specific terms in the index.

This book will continue to be a valuable resource as I continue to refine my Perl skills in creating perl modules and utilizing Perl in the .Net environment.

Can you mix Perl and Dot.NET ??
I didn't think so till now.

I found the mix of Perl and Dot.NET quite strange - that's why I was surprise to see a book on that matter.

I felt very curious to see how can it work together.

Perl has lots of advantages that make it such an enormous success - very easy to write fast and efficient code.
Ask any unix admin / programmer.

The way Perl works with the rich options of Microsoft's new engine is good. I like the combination. It works well, the examples are quite good.

The first part of the book looks similar to every Dot.NET one can find, but the second part is the value for this book - and that's why I liked it.

Good techinal explainations and examples.
It was a good investment for me.

This book very good for someone who would like to learn what is Virtualization in general and Virtual Server 2005 in specific. Good coverage from the basics of installation to administering Virtual Server 2005. Good Book over all. There was a quite a bit of grammatical errors and errors in general. But the content compensates the errors. A definite YES for those interested in Virtualization.

If you are thinking of deploying Virtual Server then this book is especially useful as an evaluation guide and does a better job of bringing all the information you actually need to run Virtual Server into one place than the official documentation. A few things have changed since the book was published - namely Microsoft has made Virtual Server free (to compete with VMware Server) and also the beta of Virtual Server R2 SP1 is under way - which brings support for the new on-chip virtualisation features AMD and Intel have introduced with their latest CPUs, as well as support for backing up virtual machines with no interruption. Other than that the book is bang up to date and covers everything except scripting - which is covered very well by the author's other book.

Fast, focused quickstart to Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 2007-01-03
As the author states, this book provides the essentials to install, configure, create, and administer Virtual Server 2005. Being less than 200 pages of actual content, the reader shouldn't expect this to be the guide that carries you well beyond the basics. It covers all the topics in adequate detail for the IT professional that has never used Virtual Server, or merely tinkered with it for that matter. This guide will definitely provide the nuts and bolts for the IT Pro new to Virtualization to perform basic planning, installation, configuration, and administration of Virtual Server in a basic single virtual host server environment.

The book is divided into five Parts, as reviewed below:

Part I - Introduction, Chapters 1 - 3: The introduction is written for someone who is new to virtualization. Topics covered: brief history-overview, terminology, basic concepts, planning, licensing, features, and benefits. The first three chapters are meant for the layman, the uninformed CIO or CEO, or the non-IT professional. IT admins would be welcome to spend 15 minutes on Part I and dive into Part II.

Part II - Installation & Configuration, Chpt. 4-6: Covering the basics of installing and configuring the host server, guest VM's, and Virtual Server 2005 R2, the author provides exceptionally good content in these chapters - but again, this is great for first timers. MSVS2K5 pros will find Part II uninformative. There is a lot of information here, so please don't misunderstand my review. The author goes into adequate detail about virtual server installation such as default file locations, the MSVS2K5 admin website and Remote Console, installation options, ISO installation and unattended installs, guest OS configuration and installation, VM additions, hardware config for the host and guest OS, and more. What is missing - again, keep in mind that this is only a 200-pg guide - is better coverage of security and IIS - these are covered in more detail in Part III, (A suggestion to the author - what is in Part III regarding security and IIS needs to be in Part II, and the Part III Security and IIS topics therefore need to go into much more detail.)

Part III - Administration, Chpt. 7-9: The chapters are well worth a good read by any IT admin. Coverage of virtual disks, virtual networks, and MSVS2K5 security issues (in essence) is very adequate, particularly the content on virtual disk architecture, undo disks feature, differencing disks, chaining virtual disks, linked disks, virtual network adapter and the underlying host adapter & service, loopback, etc.

Security covers the essentials with regard to MSVS2K5R2 installed on a single host server and managed by the local machine administrator, but I was looking for much more in this chapter. Very little coverage on Active Directory integration of MSVS2K5R2, or security permissions and administration in production AD, MOM, and/or SMS-managed virtual environments is discussed. Given that, the author does go into very good detail about the default ports, web administration site security, considerations for using a separate admin server, and VM Remote Console security issues - all from a local machine admin (not domain admin) perspective. Part III does go into good detail for any IT Pro to appreciate this book, or at the very least to whet one's appetite for more Microsoft Virtual Server technology. As one who has used MSVS2K5 for over a year now, Part III is the "meat" of this book and is worth the $16 or so to help me keep my uninformed peers and supervisor informed about virtual server technology, Virtual Disks, and Virtual Networks without taking up much of my time explaining it - here boss, just spend 1 hour reading this.

Part IV - Advanced Concepts, Chpt. 10: The coverage of CPU and resources utilization, configuration, and monitoring is adequate. The author goes into good detail about what is there; the seasoned IT Pro can then take it and run with it.

Part V - Extras: Index, Book Registration, etc. No comments here.

Be sure to register and download the bonus chapters (they are in full color too -somewhat missed in the printed book). Now that you have installed and performed basic administration and configuration of your Virtual Server on a single host server, the coverage of more advanced topics in the bonus chapters is excellent, considering the price of this book. While some of the articles in the bonus chapters can be found on Mr. Anil Desia's professional website and on TechTarget.com, you could spend hours searching for those articles and only find a fraction of the content. The bonus chapters go into much greater detail than Part II & Part III as well as expanding on topics I didn't expect to find in such a book. Sorry, I won't go into details about what the bonus chapters cover exactly. Suffice it to say that the bonus chapters provide the path for the neophyte VM admin who's tinkered with MSVS2K5R2 to becoming an expert with this technology.

Summary: For the price and with the bonus chapters, this book is well worth the read for the money. It is well written, fast-paced, and succinct although the early chapters are almost uninformative for anyone except the neophyte. The book will definitely make an IT professional proficient and expert with Virtual Server 2005 in a very quick manner - with the bonus chapters.

(SIDE NOTE: Any IT professional interested in virtualization - whether with VMWare, Xen, or Microsoft Virtual Server, should seriously consider this book - skip Parts I & II of course and dive into Parts III, IV, and the bonus chapters. It will be clear to anyone reading this book that Microsoft is or will be a very competitive alternative to VMWare's (free) Virtual Server, GSX Server, and possibly Infrastructure 3/ESX for anyone running a Microsoft Server environment.)

The Rational Guide to Managing Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 is an ideal book for who has to start fast.
It permits the reader to explore the large majority of product's features but it's not overwhelming.

Chapters 1 and 2 cover basic concepts of server virtualization and product itself, listing benefits of the technology and scenarios where it's useful.
These chapters also mention competiting products like VMware solutions and Xen, but also alternative approaches like application virtualization.
The biggest bonus of Chapter 2 is a comparison between Virtual PC and Virtual Server, something newcomers always ask, and a clarification on virtual machines compatibility between the 2 products.

Chapter 3 briefly covers planification phase, detailing minimal requirements for host OS and suggesting how to size it depending on virtual machines you plan to run.
It also mention hot topics like licensing and products support inside virtual machines.

Chapter 4 details product installation and configuration steps, clarifying some process issues reader could encounter with several real-world tips.

Chapter from 5 to 8 are dedicated to virtual machines management, with a particular focus on virtual hardware.
Virtual storage (Chapter 7) and virtual networking (Chapter 8) architectures are extensively covered, with comparison between concurrent options.

Chapter 9 is all about security and help readers to understand and correctly configure several aspect of the product, from access to virtual machines to access to web management interface.
File systems permissions, running services for Virtual Server components, web server permissions are covered in an understandable way.

The last chapter, 10, is dedicated to advanced concepts and includes critical tasks like performance monitoring and resource allocations for virtual machines. Both critical in the fine tuning phase.

Three more chapters are available only online for registered readers and are highly recommended to further improve fine tuning capabilities when using Virtual Server in serious implementations:

- Bonus Chapter A: Optimizing disk performances
- Bonus Chapter B: Optimizing network performances
- Bonus Chapter C: Virtualization best practices

Conclusion
At the moment of writing this one is the only book entirely focused on Virtual Server 2005, covering the R2 version and being assured in quality by Mike Sterling, Product Manager for Windows Virtualization at Microsoft.

If you are looking for a starting point to become operative in no time and without efforts for a small project or personal use this book is a good choice.
And since it provides a wide coverage of topics you'll always have starting points to futher deepen your knowledge.

If instead you are looking for the definitive guide to virtualization and Microsoft Virtual Server 2005, planning a hardcore use in your company, then you should look somewhere else.

This book saved me a ton of time. I was recently tapped in my company to put together a "virtual server" environment as a proof-of-concept. Not having much experience to begin with, I was looking for a source of material that could help me through this project in a real-life way (I'm not trying for some certification here). The book was clear, concise, and well organized. It led me through the steps necessary to configure my environment to successfully demonstrate the proof-of-concept. I'm not so confident I would have had the positve outcome without this book.

This book knocked me flat when I read it. I was only going to read one or two chapters but got hooked from page one. I stayed up all night reading it and then re-read it the next day!

This story has action, danger, REALLY HOT SEX, magic, romance and mayhem. It's got it all!! There were parts that were so suspensful and erotic (the heroine is the savior of a superior and magical race but doesn't know it and how she finds out is really EXPLOSIVE!) that I was sweating!

This was really well written. If you like a good plot and great sex then you have to check this author out! Sherri L. King has created a world of mystery, magic and steamy romance the likes of which I've never seen. I couldn't believe this was an e-book!

I've read this author's other book on ellorascave.com and it was just as amazing (but too darn short)! I'm putting this author on my MUST BE BOUGHT list. I cant wait to see her books in print. I really really hope that there will be a sequel to this story!

Please Please PLEASE write more and write fast Miss King. I love your work!

What a HOT ebook!

By TT reviewer Brenda Gill [full review on our website]

Rayven has always been different from the people around her. She is an orphan and has always been overlooked by the couples who want to adopt a child. Her differences make the prospective parents uneasy. She is a child prodigy, a genius. She scores higher on standardized IQ tests than any other person tested before. She has eyes of an unusual gold color that seem to look right though a person. Her differences make her a loner.

He comes to her in the guise of a giant black hawk, and warns her of danger. Rayven thinks it was a dream until she realizes her foster parent's house was on fire. She is the only one to survive the fire. Rayven is surprised when, a few days later, she is arrested and charged with arson and the murder of her foster parents. She manages to escape and stays on the run for 13 long years. Rayven is captured and taken to the planet, Varood, where she is questioned by General Karis. She learns that she is the last of her race, the Aware. She was sent to Earth by her parents to escape the massacre that killed most of her kind. The Aware are a race with strange and frightening powers, and those in the Galactic are afraid of them, so they tried to exterminate them.

Rayven escapes with the help of a giant black hawk, the same one she thought she saw in her dream so many years before. She learns the hawk is really a man named Draco. He takes her though a dimensional doorway to the planet Hostes, where she meets the last remnant of her race. There she will test the extent of her powers and abilities to help save the last of her kind. As Rayven awakes to the power of passion, she has to save the people depending on her and come to terms with the feelings she has for the strange and sensuous man, Draco.

Rayven's Awakening is an exciting blend of science fiction, fantasy, and romantica. Ms. King has combined the different genres into a fast-paced, smoothly written tale. The love scenes are like molten lava, they're so hot, but they advance the story. They aren't put on the page to arouse and titillate, but to show the reader the deep love and greater passion Rayven and Draco have for each other. This book is going on my "keeper shelf" to be read again and again.

Firstly I have really been overly fond of futuristics but this book and those by other Ellora's Cave authors have me at a turning point. Sherri L King who is a versatile author of romantica Rayven's Awakening is intence Ravenous is witty all are scorching with love scenes to make you hot. I have read everyone of Sherri's books.. She's a keeper

The review in the Romantic Times Book Club magazine had me a little leary of buying this book. The reviewer is way off base. Although the story does start a little slow. The rest of the book makes up for it.

Rayven was placed on Earth to keep her safe from the evil empire that tried to destory her people. She is the daughter to the ruling family of the The Aware. a magical and wonderous people. She has always been different. When the forces of the evil empire burn her fosters parents home they place the blame on her. She runs to save herself with the help of a Black Hawk. When she is finally capture by the empire, she finds a way to escape and the Black Hawk guides her to what remains of her people. She must run the full extent of her power as she is their savior.

Draco was the advisor to the King of the Aware. He secrets Rayven away on Earth and waits to bring her to her people. He has rule the Aware since the destruction of their world. He is Rayven soul mate.

They come together to reunite all the Aware and start and new dynasty.

Reading this book is just like being in a business presentation by Don and Martha. The text flows very fluently, pouring real life examples drawn from their extensive experience with marketing and customer management.
It is also like being in a meeting in our own business. If you are an executive with marketing and sales responsibilities and you already do your job 'out of the box', you'll want to read this book to inspire your actions. If you still have to prove your point inside your company, the book will give you tons of reasons to show your boss why the company needs to start doing things differently right now.
Concepts like "customers are the scarcest resource", "the experience you give your customers is more important than the message" come to life with abundant examples. Customer equity management applications get a lot more tangible, even if you haven't read Return on Customer: Creating Maximum Value From Your Scarcest Resource, the authors' previous book.
Highly recommended, easy read, but don't be fooled. This is high-impact matter, which may seem deceptively easy to execute. The final chapters about diversity and dissent, corporate culture and leadership bring forth the organizational efforts needed to push these concepts forward in the real world.
Extensive reference notes can help you further research the subjects covered, which is great in an environment of ever-accelerating change.

Don and Martha continue to write about the customer experience from different viewpoints, each making great points and providing insight for both those who are recipients of that service and those providing it. As a member of the consulting field in this area, I always learn something more from reading their books.

This is an excellent book which challenges the most fundamental assumptions business leaders today make. I took it with me on vacation and couldn't put it down. Full of examples and best practices, this is easy to read and thought provoking. Don and Martha expose the crisis of "short-termism" which is increasingly challenging, especially in today's economy. They also highlight the evolving role of the customer given our networked and interconnected world. They share the latest trends and thinking on various topics from employee engagement to innovation to inspire leaders to think strategically about their customer experience design and the opportunities that will drive their long-term success.

Don and Martha have done it again! They have identified and exposed one of the most difficult challenges in business today -that of short term-ism - or the obsession with making quarterly numbers at the expense of long-term and lifetime customer value.
They've dared to question some of the most fundamental business tenants and then provided evidence that new ones have emerged, such as the critical need to build and maintain trust, the necessity of employee empowerment, and the power of social networking, just to name a few.

Yes, this book is enjoyable to read; but more importantly, it has real-life examples, practical advice, and executable strategies for those who dare to build great companies for the future, not just the next quarter.

Short-Termism vs Soustainability

I read all books from Don and Martha. "one to one future" was the first and the best book I've ever read related to CRM. "return on customers" was a first attempt to demonstrate that company value isn't necessarely equal to EBITDA and value of shares. Don and Martha introduced here the concept of long-term view vs short-termism.
With this latest book "rules to break & laws to follow" - I've read it in one day! - they follow their concept of demonstrating what real value to a company means.
I do like especially the introduction of an "employee/empowerment"-dimension which was a little bit missing until now.
Real great book. A must for all leaders and managers.

This book is simply the best reference source for MS-DOS. Easy to read and providing in-depth coverage of all DOS commands, this book covers version 6.22 as well as letting you know when a command first appeared and in what version of DOS.

If you wanted only one book on DOS, this is the one!

I was looking for a fundamental DOS book covering basic and network commands, scripts, and a reference. What I got was a book written before Windows 95 with no updated network Commands and a reference not formatted like a dictionary but more like a written chapter. It is a great first book for DOS but I wish I noticed the publish date.

This book is full of hands-on exercises, accurate examples, and a very good starting point for those of us who still have to deal with MS-DOS. Even though many claim that DOS is gone, it is alive an kicking within Windows NT, Windows 95, and Windows 98, and only true experts of DOS receive a full appreciation of a command line and automated tasks that DOS environment offers over GUI.
