This is a great book! It gives you alot of examples to work with and teaches the information you need to know! I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get caught up in today's standards of computer-aiding drawing/design.

This is a great source book to get a quick entry into the fascinating world of optimization and modeling of complex structures. The book introduces the ideas with the help of very good illustrations and motivates the topic in a logical and coherent fashion. The book treats state of the art topics like parallel vector computation with elegance and clarity. I would recommend this to any engineer with curiosity and most certainly structural engineering professionals. Any engineer can learn from the book how to analyze complex systems.

This was a fascinating study of our local history, I live approximately one block from the site of the Monte Vista Hotel, and I had no idea it ever existed there. Some of the other buildings I do remember from my childhood but the stories that go with them were til now were unknown. Like a lake at the end of Hillrose street, I had heard about it several times but I always thought it was closer to Sunland Park and now I see pictures of how beautiful it must have been there. I would greatly recommend this series to anyone who is interested in a study of our local history, Ms Tiernan has taken the time to shuffle through old newpaper articles and family histories and brought them all together into several dramatic story lines that are well worth reading. Sunland is my home town, born and raised, I always thought it was a beautiful place and you've made it even better, Thank you.

Great help guide which is easy to read and follow. Best how to guide I can remember reading and really helps get the value out of the software.

Step by step instructions and illustrations help you understand the steps. A good introductory book for beginners. If you know the basics, then get a more advanced book.

I will have this program becuse load it down and I like to do different things of it. To do some postcards to my friends.

It's a quick and easy guide to all the commands and functions you'll use in AutoCAD 2004. Alphabetical listings make it easy to find whatever I'm looking for, and cross-references also help if that command isn't exactly the right one for what I need to do. (which helps me a lot as a semi-beginner!) But I can see how even very advanced AutoCAD users would benefit from the format of this book, especially when it comes to commands that are new to 2004. Icons, great descriptions, pictures of dialog boxes, and shortcuts are also very helpful.

Even though I've only had this book a few weeks, I've already used it more than enough to make it well worth buying!

I recently picked this book up to learn a few new things about the great drawing program Adobe Illustrator. I was totally impressed. The artwork in the book is amazing. And the tips and tutorials on how the artwork was accomplished are very thorough and to the point. The artists are very good and their insight into how they created their art is very inspiring. I highly recommend this book to all digital artists, and even those who are just casual users of a computer.

I bought this VQS because I like the series. But this book goes way beyond the other VQS books.

The author really understands what students need to know. Not only does she explain how the features work, she adds extra information on "why" things should be a certain way. For instance, not only does she explain how to create a style sheet, but she tells you how many style sheets she used to create the book--and why you would need that many.

I really appreciated all the tips to help make sure my documents would print correctly.

But the biggest bonus what the two chapters at the end on comparing InDesign to either Quark or PageMaker. The side by side comparisons helped me understand how to make InDesign work like Quark.

I don't think I'd be able to work with InDesign were it not for this book.

So...you want to write the next Zork/HHGTTG/Lurking Horror. Or maybe you never played any of those games but you have a fresh story idea that is perfect for IF. Either way, this is the place to begin. The perfect (or for me ESSENTIAL) companion to DM4, this book will get you well on your way to writing your first game in INFORM.
