Desktop Publishing Books

This book isn't for those just starting to work with the Adobe Creative Suite. But it is a great resource for people who work at design firms, ad agencies, and publishing houses where they work with multiple CS programs when creating designs. It addresses issues that arise everyday for the working designer or design student.

Excellent book!! I learned so much from this fun, easy-to-understand book. I had been working with adobe illustrator for a year and a half before I decided to get this book and take a course. Turns out there was so much more to adobe illustrator than I had realized. This book is beautifully written and I want to give the author a huge "Thank you" for writing such a great learning tool.

This is a nice book, that has lots of pictures and anyone can learn illustrator in a day just by reading this book. It comes with a easy to disk with samples and hands-on activities.

Man this book is funny. I mean I thought Adobe Indesign was going to be good to learn but complicated. Not at all though, this book has all these samples in it so you can see it and not just read about it.

The steps are really funny if you read the sample articles and stuff. Theres this one about motorcycles that kind of irritated our teacher, but it was So Funny. And the back has all of these paper models to print off and glue together.

This one part has kind of a paint by numbers with a tiger. Definitely buy this book!

Awesome! - Three thumbs up. I am an Adobe instructor and digital graphics professional. This CD is the easiest way to learn the program. It is clear, evenly paced and leaves nothing out. Unlike training videos, the CD is interactive giving you total access to any feature of the program you need to learn quickly. Each lesson is a short movie that can be stopped and started so you can go back and forth to review. You can also have the lesson AND the program open simultaneously, allowing you to switch back and forth to practice. It is the best training source there is. I require all my students to buy the CD as their text for the semester. If you really want to learn the program quickly and efficiently; this is the only choice.

If you are looking for an excellent guide for creating professional level projects, this is your book. Each chapter is clearly presented, with superb step-by-step instructions. The projects are geared to build your confidence with techniques in the software as you go along. The accompanying CD contains several Adobe type- faces, used in the projects, plus all the art you'll need. In addition, the projects in their completed form are enclosed, so you can see (on your own sys- tem) what the final result will be. I own this book, and am eager to purchase the new advanced edition, as well as the 6.5 version, soon to be released.

Extremely well-written and helpful book! I bought this out of curiosity and found it to become an indespensible party of my digital darkroom! Lisa explains in plain language steps needed from the execution of the photo to the final product. Highly Recommended!

This book contains 25 Image editing/creating projects, which delivers a step by step walkthrough. Ofcourse you need Photoshop 7 software. By following each project step by step you can easily build the project.

Contains consice and clear description of each step along with a picture. This helps a lot for novice users of Photoshop 7.

If your are serious about PHOTOSHOP 6.0 this is the book to have at your side when editing photo's. The best I ever bought and I bought several 6.0 books.
