Tools Books

I've worked as a consulting electrical engineer for 20 years and have sometimes been embarrassed for not knowing what tools and materials electricians use to install our designs. That information is not taught in college. I just happened on this book by chance on Amazon. The author presents in clear and concise sentences exactly what the tool or material is used for, its benefits and its limitations. Since there are usually many different ways to do an installation, this book also has the affect of jogging your memory of what things are available and may give you an idea on a better way. If you are just starting as a consulting engineer or work for as an engineer for an A/E firm - this book would be a great reference.

Collecting Books of this type from a century ago is a fascination of mine. Finding one written today that is understandable and relative is quite a feat. This is one of over fifty books on the subject in my library. It is the only one that can be used in todays machining world that does not overlook the contributions of authors of a century ago and more particularly authors writting around World War II. It has always been my opinion that learning to program a cnc machine tool does not a machinist make although many would have us believe this. However, if you are forced into that type of situation, without the aid of working an apprenticeship in a toolroom, this book is invaluable. Although becoming slightly dated in content, most of the off the shelf tooling mentioned in the text is still available. This should be require reading for all persons involved in metal machining industries. It at least let's one know what is readily available so that you don't have to reinvent the wheel. Practical knowledge for little money.

Good review of Paleolithic typology addressing some of the theoritical issues concerning these lithic typologies, i.e. Bordes and Binford. Excellent line illustrations (drawings) of lithic debitage and tools.

After ordering this book just after looking at the sample pages from Amazon, I'm amazed. Excellent writing, beautiful and detailed illustrations, and great design. Harvey builds a tool box, step by step, using real tools. The book even includes plans for the toolbox so you can build it yourself with your child!

I got this book just as a "parts" reference for my Accord. And it came right away.

This is the best Manual for repairs that I have found. The pictures help and there is a few pages in the front to help you troubleshoot any problems. Very well written and easy to understand.

Ulla Jacobs' first book, Hidden Laws, is an excellent introduction to spirituality and the laws that govern us. This is the first book on this subject that I have read that covers all the "Universal Laws" in such a clear and easy to read manner. Her background story on her recovery from illness and how it lead to her spiritual awakening is extremely inspriational. I also liked the stories of examples of the Laws at work. Many of my friends and family have read this book, and it seems to relate to everyone on some level. An excellent "how to" book on ways to get the most out of your life, become a better and happier person, and create abundance. Who knew it could be so easy!?

"His & Her Toolkit" is a practical guide and workbook to bring your relationship into a new light and paves the way for a more profound connection physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. This is a realistic and heartfelt approach to relationships as the Carpentieri's help establish a more solid foundation and building books upon which to postively grow the relationship. Its a back to basics of a realtionship. For example, "what is the goal of your relationship?" - whoever thunk to actually address each other's goals? Most relationship guides tell you as an individual how to be better in a realtionship or fix your relationship, but this book reminds us of the power of two and how it truly takes "two to tango".

I suggest getting two if you're like me and lean on the private side, so that you and your mate can each have your own place to respond to the excercises. I found this to be a valuable tool in assessing the relationship with myself - how I am, where I am - because learning to love yourself is vital to be able to love someone else.

An overall positive, honest and uplifting book that leaves no space for nagging or complaining. I only see one downside - I could have used this 10 years ago!
