Great Manual for Navigating the Twists, Hills and Detours of the Earthly Plane

"We are all on different paths, but our destination is the same. Deep within each of us is the desire to reconnect with the Divine." - From the book

While enlightenment can't be found in a book, author Amy Elizabeth Garcia has provided clear, practical steps to get your own your way in the 241-page book Real Steps to Enlightenment.

Teaming up with Jahallah, a spirit guide from the causal plane, Garcia outlines 33 steps for moving closer to Divine awareness. Each chapter provides four important components:

* A channeled message from Jahallah, including personal examples from his various incarnations
* Anecdotes from Garcia's life, as well as those from her friends, family, and colleagues
* A prayer inspired by the angels
* Short writing exercise where readers think of three ways to bring a particular quality of Spirit into daily experience

Some of the themes addressed in Real Steps to Enlightenment include:

* Purpose
* Release
* Celebration
* Transition
* Encouragement
* Safety
* Versatility
* Synchronicity
* Synergy
* Destiny
* Nonresistance
* Sanctuary

One of the sections I found particularly insightful was a message from Jahallah on the subject of clarity:

"Creating simplicity is a means for gaining clarity. When you simplify and remove excess clutter, all that is valuable in your life remains. Examine your daily activities and see which activities are useful to you and which are actually burdens. When you excavate the unnecessary possessions and actions, you will find your authentic self. Who you are and what you want out of life become clearer. Once you uncover those things, make a commitment to bring those qualities into your experience."

Real Steps to Enlightenment presents gentle, encouraging wisdom for those wanting to deepen their relationship with Spirit--as well as those seeking to establish a connection with the Divine. Garcia comes across as genuine and empathetic, often sharing obstacles and frustrations from her own life and spiritual path.

This book was a joy to read, and I felt like I was visiting a spiritual oasis every time I picked it up. What a gift to a frenzied world! I especially enjoyed the channeled material from Jahallah, whose manner and insight is reminiscent of Christ. I plan to re-visit this book as needed, and highly recommend it for navigating the twists, hills and detours of the earthly plane.

I would call "Real Steps to Enlightenment" a handbook for the spiritual seeker. The book outlines thirty-three steps in all (including gratitude, patience, encouragement and cooperation), and each step is meant to take the seeker closer toward enlightenment. Each chapter contains a channeled message from Amy's spirit guide outlining that particular step and an example of how she personally experienced the transformation in her own life. The step is then followed up with a beautiful prayer and a brief set of exercises designed to help the seeker integrate the lesson.

This book is a very easy read, and even with my hectic schedule I managed to finish it in just four days. And it could easily serve as a daily source of inspiration, just leave it by your bedside and pick it up first thing in the morning for your daily dose of enlightenment.

We are living in a time of great change and transformation. Many of us are looking for ways to make the transition a little smoother and make our lives flow a little easier. Real Steps to Enlightenment offers simple solutions to today's dilemmas.

I normally find "how to" books dull. Not this time. I feel like I've been climbing with someone form the old school. It's not often you can gain true experience from reading a book.

Fun to read book with great information!

This book will give you the basics of what you need to know to begin rock climbing, or to help you move on from top roping to lead climbing. But, unlike the other "how to" books out there on rock climbing, it is written in a breezy, entertaining style that will hold your interest like a good novel. You won't feel like you're reading a "how to" book at all. It even makes you laugh! I recommend it highly.

This book is an excellent reference work and shop manual for the shaper and router. It is well illustrated and gives descriptions of commercially available jigs and attachments as well as practical designs for shop made accessories. I read this book at the home of a fellow woodworker and threatened to steal it from him. I can't wait to get my own copy.

A Must if You're Adopting from Russia

This is the best book/cd set if you're planning to adopt from Russia or Kazakhstan! You don't have to wade through the "touristy-type" phrase books or the more difficult "academic" books. If you ARE pursuing an international adoption, you don't have TIME to become a Russian linguist! This set is perfect: the phrases you'll need without all of the "fluff" plus the author sends TWO books with the CD so you and your spouse can each study on your own. My wife impressed our Russian hosts on our first trip with how well she was able to speak common phrases. A great product at any price. I'm so grateful to the author for producing this set.

I would highly recommend this product to anyone adopting from a Russian speaking country. The product comes with 2 pocket size phrase books (which is great for each spouse to have one) and an audio cd.

Is is full of very useful phrases and words for the adoptive family. We haven't traveled yet but I have no doubt this book will be coming with us! We had purchased a general Russian travel phrase book, but that really isn't any help when it comes to the things you really want to communicate to a child. This book does!

I ordered it on a Saturday, it was shipped Monday and arrived at my home on Wednesday. Very quick service! The cd case was broken, but the cd was fine.

I have been listening to this cd in the car for about a month and feel like I have really learned a lot of phrases that will help me in my upcoming adoption. I find I am practicing these phrases at odd times...but they have really stuck. These phrases have stuck much better than the other Russian programs I am working through right now. How wonderful to know how to call your daughter beautiful and to tell her you will love her forever. A lot of more practical phrases as well.

Scenic Art for the Theatre is a book you should own if:

1) You are interested in the history of scenic art.
2) You are a designer who needs to understand painting better.
3) Are interested in a career painting scenery, especially drops.
4) Most of all if you are a designer who needs to "paint their own stuff."

Scenic Art for the Theatre is by far the best painting book on the market. Susan Crabtree is a fabulous painter with years of experience, and also a GREAT teacher. I was very fortunate to take a class of hers at Cobalt studios, and even after designing and painting scenery for 25 years, she definitely improved my knowledge base.

Buy this book!

I've decided to use this book as my primary text for a scenic painting course I'm teaching. The book is chock full of interviews with professionals, has a very nice section on the history of scenic painting, and really goes into depth in explaining why some things are done, why other things are not, and why sometimes you have to make it up. The authors go out of their way to make sure the reader understands the complicated relationship between the designer and the painter, and how the paint shop fits in to the larger context of producing a show. The examples and samples are all in color, and some of them are quite breathtaking. If you have a student thinking seriously about going into scenic design or scenic painting, you should make sure this book finds its way into their hands.

I was so pleased with Schaum's Easy Outline for Spanish that I purchased the Easy Outline for French to review for an upcoming exam. I was not disappointed. Once again I found the same reader-friendly overview of all the absolute essentials of grammar explained in a straightforward manner. Gone are the days of thumbing through pages and pages of detailed explanations of key grammatical structures. The book was actually pleasant to read and, as expected, easy to study from.

I especially recommend this book for beginners (keeps you focused and avoids frustration)and those who have not used their French in awhile and want to brush up their skills.

As those in public education look toward the implementation of high stakes testing and the implementation of No Child Left Behind, it is imperative that data be used to show student progress.
Dr. Bernhardt shows what data are most useful and how the data can be used to help improve student achievement at all levels.
The tools on the CD are wonderful.
