It is not too often that I come across books on learning that has such a practical focus. It may be used for personal learning but also for faclitating learning at work. It starts where all learning usually starts, with a look at the brain and how memories are stored before it turns to various percepectives on learning styles (begins with Kolb, but also quickly presents other works as well), learning IQ (the 7 intelligences), organizational learning, learning enablers and disablers, accellerated learning, mindmapping, and so forth. What I really liked about it is the way Malone brings in different perspectives on the various issues and tries to engage the reader in pulling out the extract before the author suggests practical applications of the various theories and models.
It sure is a "highly readable, entertaining and practical mix of tools, techniques, models, learning maps and mnemonics" that may be of great value to anyone who's interested in improving their own learning, but also for the ones who are in charge of other peoples learning.

Not just the pretty pictures and names of the tools you might encounter, but also how to keep them sharp and working well, and even a little on how to make some of your own tools.
Includes information on how to make the tool work for you, with things like trimming a handle to fit your hand for best control during use.

This 136 page spiral bound volume adds useful materials for the study of the Syriac New Testament. The text is well laid out, the Syriac is in a nice readable Syriac (Serto, very close to a Jacobite) font. Initially a computer generated list of word frequencies occupies the first 34 pages, followed by a frequency list of proper nouns, a list of words derived from Greek, consonantal homographs, and elegantly displayed verb paradigms. Added to this work is a fine "skeletal" Syriac grammar by the great S. Brock, which in itself is very handy. The text ends with an English and Syriac index to the work. Kiraz is a known expert with this language, and this work is a useful and accurate tool. It serves as a SUPPLEMENT to a grammar.

Although I haven't used the CD, I do have the book (which came out a couple of years ago). It is a great resource for missions committees, prayer groups, youth groups and missions-minded Christians. It brings together in a concise format how to specifically pray for the spiritual needs of countries in the 10/40 Window. The addition of the CD can only make this an even more resourceful tool.

I have been working in unix environment for last 8 years and this is an excellent reference for unix development and user environment. At my work my colleagues ask me about unix commands and tricks and of course I learned most of them by explaining it to them. "LINUX Programming Tools" covers what I need at work.

This book covers wide range, from C library functions, unix commands, debugger, make utility tricks, CVS and also your unix environment ( ENV ) i.e your shell explanation.

I would say, for beginner to intermediate user this book is a must and for advanced user this books is good reference source.

This book is an excellent resource for aspiring teachers. Wood provides very valuable insight into the world of technology and the ways in which teachers can creatively and thoughtfully integrate it into the Language Arts curriculum framework. The suggestions are clever, fun, and engaging for writing students with various skill levels, and teachers with all experience levels.

This volume contains a set of essential articles by well known analysts in the field of lithic debitage analysis. These papers consider the strengths and weaknesses of the various common approaches (e.g. debitage size distribution, flake attributes, etc.) to lithic debitage analysis current in the field today. The volume is a very useful reference.

This is a worthwhile read, but it is not a book, rather an essay available on many web sites.
