A friend wrote to me: "A couple of months ago, I purchased a book entitled, The Digital Producer, by Curtis Poole and published by Focal Press. It is aimed toward Avid users, in particular, but broadly usable by any non-linear system owner. One of the key features of the book is a system, provided on CD-ROM, for logging, storyboarding, scripting and a wealth of functions in production. It is the most comprehensive system of its kind I have yet seen and its strongest feature is that it works the way we work, not like some computer analyst who thinks he/she knows something about production."

I wrote back: "This program automatically does what I've been asking about (storyboarding). In its storyboarding feature, you can input an image file. I've imported a .bmp and it resizes it for me and places it on the page. Then you select another view of the page and it gives you the same image but larger size with any narration in the column next to it. These can be printed out and pasted around and . . . it's hard to contain my enthusiasm for this thing. Since you have it already you know all of this but, I'm blown away! Blown away!"

I can not say enough about this book/CD/and FileMaker template collection. If you can not organize your production with this package, you can not organize a production. It has shaved months off of my production schedule. Thanks for the great work!

I read this book 20 years ago, and it had a profound effect on me. It is deep thinking about the dimensionality of space(s) in everyday life that we take for granted, as to whether a perception highlights one-, two-, or three-dimensionality. A lot of very intelligent and thorough thinking went into this book. I recommend it to philosophers, artists, physicists, and architects or designers.

The book has useful information about the realities of disability, the prevailing attitudes, the causes of disability, family issues, and special services for special students. The idea of project-based inclusion is new and exciting. It will actually work in any school. Each chapter has an set of photocards that introduce a student with disability. As the cards are viewed by teachers and students they will know the student with a disability as a person, their joys and sorrows. An excellent book that is a joy to read.

This is a book on discharge planning for clinicians by clinicians. It is reader friendly--- I use it everyday because the text is consumed with vital components to make discharge planning and implimentation go smooth, easy, legal and meaningful.

If one is interested in things psychic, this is an absolute gem of a book.

The DC-9 family is an inspired choice for the first volume of the Squadron/Signal "At The Gate" series. Millions of people have flown on the DC-9 series aircraft over the years, and it introduced jet travel to innumerable cities. This book is a well-illustrated historical overview of the DC-9 (and subsequent MD-80 and MD-90) family of aircraft. It is profusely illustrated with photographs, paintings, and line drawings.

The book would be ideal for scale modelers, but is equally useful as an introduction to the aircraft from a historical point of view. The book is strong on photographs of the aircraft in numerous paint schemes, and contains a lot of useful information on the program. Most of the photographs are in color, which is in wonderful contrast to most of the earlier Squadron/Signal "In Action" series. The book could have used more cockpit illustrations (the MD-80 and MD-90 EFIS cockpits are ignored) and information on systems, but aside from those critiques it is a well-rounded volume.

The DC-9 was the first jet airliner I learned to fly. Two decades since I first checked out in the DC-9, it is still a favorite. This book is accurate (if general) but should be in the library of any DC-9 enthusiast.

In the past, I have tried and tried to keep and journal and just didn't keep it. I would write in it for a few days and then forget to write in it. When my 13th birthday rolled around, my mom got me "Dreams- A Notebook Journal" and told me to try to keep it. Since my birthday, I have written in it everyday. I love the journal's design and how the pages look inside. I would recommend this to any young girl looking for a good journal to write their personal thoughts and dreams in.

This is a good book for drill press owners interested in learning about their drill press, making jigs for the drill press, and expanding the usefulness of the drill press by using it as a light-duty mortiser, planer, drum sander, router, and shaper. This book concentrates on woodworking, but also has sections on metalworking.

Exactly what I needed. Mr. Peters writes in clear stright forward language. I am starting over after 30 years of not working with tools like drill presses and this will help me find the best unit for my needs. The plus is the tips and jigs he shows one. Best money I have spent in a long time.
