Great book, nice ideas, but there are some gotchas...

if you follow the plans verbatim, you are basicly screwed. Use the basic diminsions, but double check or calculate for yourself most of the cuts. The plans are not real accurate, but do propose some REAL nice stuff. I've built 3 of them tables so far, and I love them. Just be careful.

To get the most from your router, you need a versatile router table that works. In Build Your Own Router Tables, expert woodworker John McPherson shows you how to design and build three different router tables, each serving the needs of different types of woodworking. The portable job-site table, the shop table, and the contractor's table are proven router table designs field- tested extensively by the author. Step-by-step drawings and photographs show you exactly how to make your own personal router table right the first time, and what must be done to make each design work with the router you own. And rest assured, once you've built your router table (whether a large, do-everything contractor's table or a small, versatile bench-top model), McPherson is ready to help you customize it with specialty fences, jigs and fixtures to suit any routing application. Build Your Own Router Tables leaves nothing unexplained. You'll quickly learn how to build, equip and use router tables safely and effectively. And you'll get a personal, step-by-step walk-through on how to design, plan and build the right router table for you. What a delightful book. Designed to be very interactive, a task is described (e.g., cutting a piece of wood) and the child selects which tool would be appropriate for the job (e.g., saw). The fold-out page then confirms the answer. Great for do-it-yourselfers who want to train their children how to hand them the proper tools. I bought several copies for the children of my favorite "handy-men."

I gave this book to my nephew this past weekend. He loved helping Bob by using the hammer, saw, tape measure, wrench and paint brush. He was having so much fun he just wouldn't put this book down! He kept saying, "I DO IT, I DO IT"!

Less than one quarter of one percent of the code written today is used more than once. Even when a second program requires the same tool as the first, programmers rewrite the tool rather than reuse it. One of the greatest strengths of the C++ language is its ability to build reusable components. Many books teach the syntax and meaning of the C++ language. This is a book about building reusable components in C++.

A Happy Caregiver!

This book is so comprehensive that it talks about dealing with life, and its challenges: stress, dealing with difficult situations that happen to everyone, but are extremely magnified and overwhelimg for anyone taking care of a spouse, child, sibling, parent, or professional caregivers.

I would reccommend this book to anyone who is not living in a cave and has to cope daily with challenges. All the caregivers I know that have read this book and taken the "Powerful Tools For Caregiving" class have been rewarded and renewed permanently!
