I work as a freelance website designer. I can't afford to hire people to write anything for me so this book/CDROM was a huge lifesaver. I really appreciate that I can edit the contracts to my liking but they still look professional! A great help!

After sitting all day, for 12 hours with my eyes into the monitor do you think I am in the mood to write contracts? Do you think I am in the mood to do anything? My wife always said that I worked too much. Well After buying this book I used to have more free time because all the contracts I had to create were her. Now I have more time for myself and less money spent on lawyers or assistants.

It's very annoying for a programmer like me to deal with paperwork. We aren't used to do paperwork! We need a straight line with everything we need so this book is the best thing a programmer who deals with contracts can buy!
I love it because I can search for anything in it and I am sure I will find it without getting annoyed or call my lawyer who always charges me more that he is supposed to.
Buy this book because it will stop premature aging!

Being a coder doesn't leave me with much time so I need some fast preprinted contracts that I can use anywhere and this book does the trick. They are good printed and well made so I can use them with all my confidence. I highly recommend this book!

It appears someone is falsifying reviews for this book. Most of the reviews are written in broken or odd english. Most reviewers have either reviewed no other products or have only reviewed other products by the publisher. Not sure what's going on here but very very suspicious. Buyer beware.

Was in a great condition!!! Very pleased with the purchase!!! Only thing that was "wrong" was a small tear on the bottom of the box - which looks like it was wrapped as a present and the tape tore a bit of paper off the bottom. The Bible itself was in perfect shape and made a wonderful present that I could afford to give. Thanks....

This is my second copy of the Ryrie Study Bible. I literally wore my first one out! Obviously, Ryrie has theological positions and it is apparent everywhere. However, the notes are outstanding and there is plenty of room for notes of your own.

The materials included are useful; especially the maps. However, the bonded version, of which I owned originally, is not bound particularly well and many of the maps fell out after a few months. I would highly recommend that those who purchase this bible get the genuine leather version.

I'm very impressed with this study Bible. The notes offer clear and relevant explanations of history, culture, and language that are important for understanding the scripture. The charts, maps, and chapter introductions are also extremely helpful. The binding on this hardcover book is strong and sturdy, and the font is easy to read. The only thing I would wish for would be indexed chapters so that I wouldn't have to hunt for each chapter. Overall, this study Bible is the best I could find and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and relevant study Bible.

The updated NASB version is highly recommended as the most literal and accurate Bible translation available today. Along with that, Dr. Ryrie's study notes are excellent and quite extensive without being overwhelming. The combination makes an excellent study Bible. The expanded tables, outlines, introductions, and study notes give the serious or aspiring student of the Word added and accurate insights into the meaning of the text. Along with many other helps, there are of special note: a Synopsis of Bible Doctrine, a Topical Index, a Concordance, and many Maps & Timelines.

I have been using the Ryrie NASB Study Bible for over 25 years and I have yet to find anything better. The major strength of Dr. Ryrie's study notes is that they follow a single, normative method of interpretation for the whole of Scripture. You won't find him citing men, church traditions, and catechisms as proofs, only the plainly written Word within its context.

I posted this review in particular because there is an increasing number of study Bibles out there and the amount of choices can be daunting to the average Christian. If it were just a matter of picking one of the trusted translations, it wouldn't be so much of a problem, but it seems that everyone wants to put their name on a study Bible these days. Study Bibles can be a great help in many situations, but the wrong one could do more harm than help.

Since many evangelicals I've talked to are unaware of the problems with the MacArthur study Bibles, also available in NASB, you should avoid it in any version. Although MacArthur claims to be a "leaky" dispensationalist, he abandons a consistent normative interpretation to accommodate his Calvinism and in promoting Lordship Salvation. His study notes reflect this. Another possible alternative to Ryrie would be the Scofield Study Bible III possibly in ESV. I have yet to take an in-depth look at the much-hyped ESV version, and still need to do more research in how they render some critical verses as I hear it has many Reformed backers.

As Dr. Ryrie states, "The Bible is the greatest of all books; to study it is the noblest of all pursuits; to understand it, the highest of all goals." -it is God's Word!

... the publisher would be totally honest about the scope and depth of this book and alter the title to read "Cisco TCP/IP Routing Basic Reference".

When I was first dropped into the position of having to know routing, and knew nothing, I was lucky enough to begin with this book. One of the most concise and readable basic level introductions to networking and routing that I have ever seen. This book is a wonderful beginning level text for those of you who have never seen or worked with a Cisco router before but will be doing so shortly.

My one complaint is the use of the word "Professional" in the title. This text is nowhere near the technical level or depth of what I would consider required to be considered a professional in the field of networking, much less to be considered as a professional when it comes to working with Cisco equipment. But like I said, one of the best introductary level books I've come across.

This book does not provide the theory behind the technology and will not prepare you for certification either.

It shows you how to do a few things that the "author" wants to show you and NEVER goes into detail about them. The author will "see little point" in going into something and tell you nothing about it.

This book is definitely a beginner level that will not drown you.

On the back cover, the book reads:

'Make the most of the leading router technology with the in-depth manual you never got from cisco!'

I hope you noticed the word 'in-depth' then I wonder why when I tried to get some IS-IS information, on page 120 all the writer has to say is said in a paragraph and the last line reads:

'Nothing more will be said of Integrated IS-IS, because I recommend that if you want to use a link state protocol, you use OSPF.'

HAAA need I say more about this book!

Chris, it is none of your damn business to tell the reader what to use or not. When you took the task of writing a book on cisco tcp/ip, then you had better covered IS-IS 'in-depth'. When I pick up a book to read about satanism, it does not neccessarily mean that I'm planning to adopt satanism. I might just be reading for the sake of getting to know what satanism is all about, right?

I reviewed this book earlier and gave it a bad rating, probably my expectations were high. Some of the guys I lended the book to, who are beginners in the field, right out of school and have not actually worked on the routers find this book helpful because of its basic coverage of cisco IOS features.

It starts from the very basic configurations tasks and moves on to adding other IOS features such as routing protocols and access-lists. It talks about configuring IP addresses along with little theory, serial, ethernet, tunnel and loopback interfaces and encapsulation types.

However it does not cover all the knobs provided by IOS to fine tune the protocols such as OSPF, BGP etc. It covers the legacy protocols as well. There is no coverage of IS-IS at all and that's the sticking point. There is a vast amount of ISP deployment of IS-IS and the author ignores this fact. There are no troubleshooting tidbits regarding the routing protocols, such as how to avoid and fix routing loops etc.

So if you are just starting in cisco routers, you can use this book. Keep in mind that for hands-on practise and doing excercises in the book you'll need 3 cisco baby routers (2500 series).

TCP/IP go to reference manual!

If you are looking for a book on TCP/IP and only TCP/IP this is not the book you need, but if you are working towards any Cisco Certification that this book is a must have. Completely breaking down TCP/IP and relating it to the CISCO IOS has this book getting the top rating.

Lewis's expertise in the area of TCP/IP is what makes this book the handy reference you need by your side. The author is detailed, accurate and complete. While this book is not tailored to specific exam it will aid in any Cisco Certification you are planning to take.

The is an abundance of figures, diagrams, actual router screen shots, tables, and router commands to give you the one go to reference manual. In just over 480 pages Lewis takes nothing for granted making sure you have the most up to date information right at your fingertips.

The book covers IOS version 11 and 12 as well as a detailed breakdown of TCP/IP in a Cisco environment, WAN technologies, troubleshooting, VPN and firewalls. Overall an excellent book, however the one drawback maybe the price.

Beautiful Heirloom-Quality ESV Bible

Although more expensive than other available ESV Bibles, the Heirloom Reference Edition offers two remarkable advantages over the Classic Reference Edition: its sturdy construction and its larger print. I've been reading from the Heirloom Edition as part of my daily devotions for almost three years, and have found that it holds up well to regular use (and even occasional abuse!). The binding is tight and the paper is substantial, without any "bleed-through" of the print from one page to another. Bibliophiles will delight in simply handling this calfskin-bound volume, and those of us who are advancing toward what a ministerial colleague of mine likes to call "the high middle ages" will appreciate its 10.5 font size -- a significant improvement over the 9-point font used in all the Classic Reference Editions. Prospective buyers should be aware, however, that this is definitely not a compact, travel-sized Bible. Its larger print and wider margins necessitate a book that's not as portable as other editions of the ESV. Nonetheless, if you appreciate the many virtues of this fine translation, and are looking for a truly beautiful edition that will stand up well to daily use, I would recommend this one without reservation.

The ESV is a wonderful translation. This particular format uses a bit larger type for the main text, making it easier to read for those of us with older eyes. The margin notes are reasonable, though not as extensive as some study bibles, and there are plenty of footnotes giving translation nuances. The ESV does not appear to be a politically correct translation, as so many others are these days, but the honest "gender neutral" translation options are faithfully listed in the footnotes for those who worry about such things. This Bible has become the one I nearly always pick up for general reading.

This translation of the Holy Bible is wonderful. I love its "essentially word-for-word" translation. It uses classic English style as a model making it wonderful to read, wonderful to hear, and wonderful to study. And since it has not been mutilated by inclusive language it is a translation to be trusted far above its ancestor the NRSV. I highly recommend it for anyone that takes Scripture seriously.

dictionary fine, website and cd not

Review Date: 2008-02-03
I'm pleased with the dictionary, but I can use the dictionary in the library where I study. I purchased the dictionary so I could reference it while at home, etc. But I was motivated to buy it based on the included CD and the internet access. Both very disappointing. As a student I cannot carry the dictionary with me wherever I go, even if I would like to do so. The online access is dreadfully slow. When you type in a word (most of the time the website won't load within 60seconds and I give up) even if there is an exact match it doesn't take you to that screen, just to a screen with the word--which you then have to click to get to the final destination--what's the point in that?
As for the CD, it's not working right now, but that's a problem with my computer. I had hoped that either the CD or the website would be easy to use. I just noticed that it says on the label "single user version." That means that every single time you want to use the dictionary on your computer the CD has to be in the drive. I ask again, what's the point in that? Some lightweight laptops don't even have CD drives currently. Why should I need to carry the CD everywhere as well---I wanted a program I could install--that's what I was lead to believe I was purchasing. Not too mention the program is load and slow when it must be run from a CD drive--that's why people install programs.
I have a Merriam Webster Dictionary--which after about 6 years I discovered the CD in the back cover. It works like a dream. I installed the program once, and whenver I want to look up a work, I click an icon, and a simple and efficient program (what else do you want in a dictionary) opens and I can look up words rapidly.

Don't let this mislead you---I enjoy the print version. That is what is advertised. But there are copies of those all over the library where I spend my time, and I was hoping that access to the extras would be worth me buying my own copy. Just wish they lived up to the standards.

From the standpoint of a pre med student, this is a fantastic medical resource! I have really appreciated having it- I can very quickly and easily look up any terms, conditions, etc., of which I am unaware and feel I need to know. Beautiful illustrations, easy to assimilate, and, so far, it's had a definition for everything I've queried.

It came with a CD that was broken so I called the 800 number listed in the book...they were very nice and mailed a new one to me asap (at no cost to me). The book is very large and heavy so you need to be at a desk or table when using it. I am very satisfied.

Excellent Choice, regardless of your translation of choice

Review Date: 2007-12-29
A good interlinear English translation of the Greek New Testament is possibly one of the three or four essential tools for serious New Testament study, along with a superior New Testament Theological dictionary and a good New Testament Greek - English lexicon. I have used two, `The New Greek - English Interlinear New Testament', translated by Robert K. Brown and Philip W. Comfort, with the marginal NRSV translation and `The Interlinear NASB - NIV Parallel New Testament in Greek and English' translated by Alfred Marshall. I originally bought both thinking that I would want one for each of the two primary scholarly translations, the NIV and the NRSV. In the end, I discovered that neither marginal translation in these editions held any value for me whatsoever, since I will certainly have my Bible translation of choice open while using the interlinear translation anyway. I am also just a bit concerned that Marshall does not clearly announce which version of the Greek text he is using. Brown and Comfort use the United Bible Societies' Fourth Corrected Edition / Novum Testamentum Graece, 27th edition.
What is really important, I discovered, especially for a Greek newbie like me is that the second of these two has significantly larger print for both the English and the Greek, and it is therefore far easier to find the verse I am seeking, when in search of a particular word. Added to this the fact that Brown and Comfort place both chapter and verse numbers at the start of every verse makes the passage in question even easier to find. Marshall may also have some value if you are partial to the NRSV and you don't have an NIV translation, this is a way to satisfy two needs with one book, except that the marginal translations in Marshall are even harder to read than the Greek and interlinear translation.
Marshall's text is not without its virtues, although I consult it rarely. The first is that the NASB and NIV marginal translations are divided by titles dividing the sections, just as you may find in a study bible. This makes it just a bit easier to zero in on the 8 - 16 verses you are looking for, since the headings, such as Luke's `The Parable of the Tenants' is so distinctive. Both volumes also include notes from the NASB, NIV, and NRSV translators, however, I don't use these either, since the same notes are in my NRSV study bible, and, again, my primary objective is simply to find THE EXACT Greek word used in a particular context. From there, I can do my own research in the dictionaries. So, regardless of which English translation you use, I prefer Brown / Comfort for their readability.

Barring a miracle....

Review Date: 2007-05-18
Barring a miracle like the Dead Sea Scrolls are for Old Testament studies, this text is essentially as close as we will ever come to the original text of the New Testament. There will be scholarly tweaking and dispute over particulat words and phrases, of course.

You do not have to be able to read Greek in order to use this book for study, although that would obviously enrich your study. The other reviews here match my experience and I recommend reading them.

What particular words mean will often depend upon the dictionary and concordance you use since historically these have frequently been written by people with a particular theological agenda. You need to be an advanced student a'la Raymond Brown to puzzle out biases and errors. This book, both the interlinear and the NRSV, pretty much steer you past those problems.

To understand the general background of scholarly issues which led to this particular text you need to read Metzger's book The Text of the New Testament: Its Transmission, Corruption, and Restoration (4th Edition). To find out about specific textual issus which are still oustanding, you also need Metzger: A Textual Commentary on the Greek New Testament.

With this book and the two by Metzger you can be as confident as the current state of the art permits that you are studying the "real" New Testament.

An Excellent Interlinear To Own

Review Date: 2007-05-06
Much of the time I have found interlinears to be too bulky to really enjoy. I must admit that I own several but would rather just pull out my Greek New Testament than to try to work through reading from an interlinear New Testament. However, I recently puchased this personal size interlinear from my local Christian bookstore and have truly enjoyed it. The book, as others have noted, is well crafted with a strong, sturdy cover, easy to read print, and while I have not been a big fan of the NRSV, I have found the text to be much more accurate than say the NIV.

However, I must warn my readers that you need to know NT Greek before you purchase this book. A working knowledge of the Greek text is a must to really enjoy any interlinear New Testament. A few Greek language books along with this interlinear can provide the disciple with a life long search of the New Testament that will add to your faith. Overall this is a great book to own and one of the best (if not the best) interlinears that you can purchase.

2. The text is in two columns.
3. There are paragraph headings and references.
4. There is no book marking ribbon that typically comes with.
5. It's not a study bible with notes at the bottom of each page.
6. Christ's words in red is nice.
7. There is Concordance at the end.
8. 8 pages of map at the end.
9. Cover is an imitation leather.
Overall, I like it and is a helpful complement to my NIV study bible, which is too bulky to carry around all the time.

I bought this Bible for an older lady friend with deteriorating vision as a gift. SHe did not have a giant print Bible and it was the thing she wanted most. However, the Bible, for the price, seemed very cheap to me and I was reluctant to give it as a gift. The cover was one of the worst I've seen. The "leather look" is just a thin sheet of something over a thin piece of cardboard. The Bible was all right, but everything about it seemed of lesser quality than I would have expected for the price. I have returned it and purchased another one from the same publisher for slight less than half this price! It didn't have thumbtabs which are always nice, but it looks so much better and was a lovely shade of blue. Not recommended. Too expensive for the overall quality. You can do better.

This Bible is made in China and it shows. Don't buy it, get the In Touch Min NASB as it's still made in the USA. I am so disappointed with this bible; the page layout is the best of any bible. However, the binding quality of materials and workmanship is the worst I have ever seen, it's worse than any $20 bible.

Be Careful and get the right one or you'll be sorry

The reviews on this Bible were great for the first edition (2002). All subsequent printings (2006) were done in China and were inferior. I scoured the world looking for the 2002 printing and with great difficulty found one. But they are in Blue Calfskin only. A minor inconvenience for a superb Bible. They had 4 left at time of writing where I found them. I'm sure there are more out there for the diligent seeker.

This is a superb Bible in the 2002 print. The finest study Bible I have ever owned. I usually wear out a regular leather Bible every year or 2. The cover will come apart, binding begins to fail, pages come out, ect..

This is the nicest bible I have ever had. Fine super soft calfskin cover, Smythsewn binding, French paper, large 11 point print, wide margins for personal notes, excellent concordance and thorough references all in the most accurate literal tranlation NASB.

Also comes with a lifetime warranty. If you can find one printed in 2002 get it immediately!

Ways to tell if it is a 2002 print: 1. Raised spirals on the binding, 2. and comes with a black velvet slipcover.

You will probably have better luck finding a 2002 print in blue leather rather than black, but it is such a dark blue you can't really tell it is not black.

Don't get the 2006 you will be sorry. Most descriptions will state published 2002. Be careful. This doesn't mean it was printed in 2002. Probably printed in 2006. Ask the above 2 questions from the seller (raised spirals on binding and black velvet slipcover). It is the only way I know you can be sure. The later printings from China had neither.
Many blessings and Happy hunting!

Limp and Supple Calfskin Cover

Pros:
I have been very happy with this Bible overall. As far page format, I really enjoy the single column, which allows for a much more natural read. I also appreciate the side margins which provide ample space to write my notes.

The biggest pro I believe is the calfskin cover. It is the most limp, softest and most supple bible cover I have ever felt. My wife likes the feel of it even better than her Cambridge Goatskin Bible. I believe the Lockman Foundation Publishers used the custom bible bindery "Abba Bibles," which is famous for their calfskin covers.

Cons: The only cons, for me personally is the size. I wish this bible was a little bit smaller so I could put it in briefcase or backpack.

I bought two of these bibles, one for myself and one for my wife. She did not like the size, so I have it listed here on Amazon for $59.99. She never even opened the bible so it is in great condition.

Not the quality I thought it was.

This Bible is over 2" thick and does not have a reinforced spine. The one I received had some of the pages wrinkled and once folded out werer longer than all the others. The one I reordered had pages not attached properly at the top of the spine. This Bible could not stand up to everyday use without the spine breaking. After returning both of these I ordered The NASB (Updated) In Touch Ministry Bible and have been very satisfied.

I'm sorry to say that I had to return this item as the binding was back to front. So much for quality control.

10.1 font is NOT Large Print

When I bought this product, I thought, "Large Print, like at the library. You know, 14-16 Font." It is clearly on the box cover that it is 10.1, but I would not call that Large, by any account, unless you call legal fine print "normal" font size. To me 12 is normal, and 10 is smallish. 14-16 would be "Large" and larger than that "Giant." This Bible is in relatively small print, not by any stretch of the imagination Large at all.
The rest is wonderful Bible with lots of space between the lines, etc. But it is NOT LARGE PRINT!

Great for readability, poor on consistency with ancient languages

The New International Version is excellent for readability and overall quality. However, because it is only 52% consistent with the original language (Old Testament comparison only) you cannot do serious bible study without using a concordance.

This is a very readable bible, and very easy to understand. The publisher, Zondervan, is without doubt the best printing house in the world when it comes to highest quality standards in materials and workmanship.

Great Bible, Great Translation!

I highly recommend this to anyone who is accustomed to reading a study bible for their daily reading. This New American Standard translation is God's word with out all of the references and commentary that can be distracting when you just want to read the Word. It's laid out very well, the print is quite easy to read, and it's slim design makes it easy to take with you. After reading the NKJV for several years I find the NASB to be a refreshing change.

Missing Pages

I just received this Bible today, and I was very pleased with the cover, the print font and the center-column references. I hit a snag when I noticed that every other pair of pages were 'stuck' together by the silver edging, and that a few of the pages had not been cut through at the top to separate them. Then, as I was searching through to bookmark some of my favorite passages, I discovered four pages missing from Psalms. Obviously, not Amazon's fault, but the publisher/printer. Sending it back, hopefully a new one won't have these problems. This is a first for me, as everything else I've ordered from Amazon has been wonderful so far.

This is a wonderful bible for those who need something lightweight and portable. The fact that it is lethertex and is a reference bible is an added bonus.

The only draw back is the format is in paragraph form instead of
verse. Otherwise I like it.

If you are looking for an inexpensive but quality NASB, this is it.
1. The NASB (revision of ASV) is clearly more literal than ESV (revision of RSV). However, ESV is indeed more readable. The preference of translation lies in the user. I for one, am willing to sacrifice readability (style) over accuracy. So I believe, for my need, NASB is the best there is.
2. As for this particular Bible, I am pleased. It is "Smyth Sewn" -- that is pages are stitched and not glued to the spine like many Bibles produced today. This alone merits high mark.
3. This is NOT leather (bonded or genuine) even though Amazon describes it that way, but it is IMITATION leather called, "Leathertex" but it is high quality. The material is soft and flexible. Its durability falls in somewhere between genuine leather and hard cover.
4. It has basic Bible helps: (a) Center column cross-references (b) Color maps and (c) Basic Concordance.
5. HOWEVER, while the fonts are clear, they are not dark enough for me. The fonts are printed little light. But this is a minor issue.

Overall I love the Bible. So if you are looking for inexpensive NASB, you will not be disappointed with this one.

I do not own this Bible, but I spent some time at the Christian book store comparing Bibles and unfortunately had to decline the purchase of this one. Nearly everything about it is top notch like the reviews say -- the cover, binding, layout, etc. However, I found the print to be difficult to read after several minutes and felt some eyestrain. It just seemed like a very light font, tightly packed, and slightly obscured by the print visible from the other side of the page. So before placing an order online I recommend you have a look at it in a bookstore first, especially if your near vision is not that great.
