Finally a great ASP.NET XML resource
Helpful Votes: 11 out of 13 total.
Review Date: 2002-10-06
I've purchased several book books on XML, both in the ASP and ASP.NET environments. They typically wanted you to know everything about XML for its own sake. Well I don't care to learn everything there is to know about XML; I want to know how to use it as part of the ASP.NET arsenal to write better applications. This book does just that. It moves very fast and delivers a very practical how-to guide on using XML in your ASP.NET workday. Wrox at its best!

An excellent summary of the work of one of the West's bravest men
Helpful Votes: 4 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2007-10-30
This article (which you can find for free at Dr. Macdonald's site) is excellent beyond words. It shows his dishonest opponents for what they are, and the evil tactics they use, this being done by so-called "objective scientists" who can't find any way to silence Dr. Macdonald. As the article dryly points out, several of these Jewish "scientists" have promised a refutation of Macdonald's work for closing on ten years now, but we're still waiting. The easier way out for these people would simply be to get him fired or something similar, as they have done countless number of times before to various people who got too close to the truth.

The article is very readable, and contains quite thorough reviews and comments on all of Dr. Macdonald's four books on the subject, in addition to an interview with the gentleman, and some of the "critique" that has been voiced against him from the usual suspects. The mere fact that all of the opposition is based on obviously biased racial interests shows me quite open that we are still living under Stalinism. You can write about anything you want, as long as it is not controversial or dangerous to the ones controlling the intellectual climate. Some "Democracy", huh?

It also contains some interesting facts, for example, it turns out that Macdonald is born Catholic, something that hadn't really occurred to me, even after repeated readings of his work. I always imagined he was WASP, for some reason, but oh well, Scottish Catholic works for me.

All in all, an article every thinking man and woman of the world should read, to find out in about 30 pages what all the fuzz is about, and why the West is completely off-track on it's way towards it's divine destiny. And after all, as Macdonald says himself, isn't all that really matters if he is correct or not? After reading this, I don't think anyone can deny that he most decidedly is correct.

Read it!

This is a very good book for programmers who want to introduce themselves into the world of Internet. The difference between this book and others is that the author is a professional webmaster and shows us here the tricks of the game. We can also see in the net the site working, so we feel that we are learning something "alive". Recommended for professionals and students of information technology.

This work clearly and concisely emphasizes the salient points of the proposed regulations. However, true notional principal contract enthusiasts will want to check out Mr. Shapiro's more ambitious work -- Taxation of Equity Derivatives, Tax Management Portfolio No. 188.

This is an excellent, well written article that provided me with many great ideas. I am planning on opening a tea room when I move to a small town in the Georgia mountains in a few years. Lisa's article has really inspired me with her terrific marketing techniques that are bound to succeed (they would certainly work on me)! Well worth the $5.95.

Essential Reading on Independent Documentary
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2001-04-08
B.J. Bullert provides compelling view into recent documentaries that have taken a controversial political viewpoint and have had run-ins with the public broadcasting system. The book is organized with a clear case by case structure. Bullert describes in egaging detail the difficulties that filmmakers with socially challenging documentaries have had with the PBS hierarchy and station managers. The sections on "Roger and Me" and "Tongues Untied" are particularly thorough and thought provoking. Public Television : Politics and the Battle over Documentary Film is an accessible, insightful and essential companion to any college-level documentary film class looking into the distribution and broadcast of American independent documentaries with a strong point of view.

Informative and enjoyable
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 1998-01-30
I would recommend this book to people who have browsed the web and now want to get involved in writing their own web pages. I love the fact its Macintosh oriented! Also, this book takes you through a (brief) history of hypertext, html, etc. and explains (briefly) the controversies between purists and standardizers - I have a better understanding of where all this came from. Pfaffenberger is an excellent and entertaining writer - maybe a little tiny bit simplistic in some ways but not condescendingly patronizing and very thorough. After having looked through several books including "HTML for Dummies" (definitely condescending) and another thick book professing to give you everything you need to know on running a website (which was written by a compendium of people and assumed you understood all sorts of things) - I would say this is a great starting point. (I rated a 9 because I feel there is ALWAYS room for improvement...)
