Collins gives a wonderful dialogue of the 149th's adventures and hardships, including their time at Gettysburg, Chancellorsville, and Atlanta.

The digitalization of real-world objects is of vital importance in various application domains. This method is especially applied in industrial quality assurance to measure the geometric dimension accuracy. Furthermore, geometric models are the very foundation of contemporary three-dimensional computer graphics. In addition to create new models by using a modeling suite, the use of 3D laser scanners has recently become more and more common. To reconstruct objects from laser scan data, usually very large data sets have to be processed. In addition, the generated point clouds usually contain a considerable amount of errors. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the data for further processing.
Compared to algorithms that interactively manipulate point clouds through an approximation with polygonal meshes, we aim to automatically correct each measurement individually and directly integrate the methods into the measurement process. In addition to traditional methods which usually assume point clouds as unstructured, this work introduces techniques for the extraction of common data structures from optical 3D scanners. Based on this information, procedures are developed to enable automatable procedures of scan data optimization and evaluation. The feasibility of the proposed methods is shown at the example of different real-world objects and industrial applications.

Month-To-Month Gardening Utah is the best book I've read yet on successful gardening in Utah. The books offers hundreds of tips on things you can be doing to create a beautiful garden. I especially love the journal provided throughout the book. By journaling facts about my own garden, the book has become my own personal gardening guide. I love this book and would recommend it to anyone interested in successful Utah gardening.

No longer frustrated sitting at the computer!

Until I came across this book, I would sit for hours in front of my computer with the users manual trying to understand how to accomplish a somewhat simple task.
I would write down everything I did, so I would remember how I did it for next time. It didn't work. So then, I would sit for even longer periods of time trying to figure out...."how did I do that?"
Now, with this book MORE Windows 95 Simplified, I learned more in one hour than I ever thought possible when it comes to Windows 95. I can quickly refer back to any subject when I
need to or when I want . It's a picture book for adults. Of course theres more to it than just pictures. MORE Windows 95 Simplified is written in a way that makes the novice computer user
feel confident about accomplishing tasks without all the frustration. In fact, this book has helped me so much, I'm sending one to my Mom. We spent alot of time on the phone trying to help
each other with Windows 95 programs. This has got to be the best and easiest to understand Windows 95 "help" book I have ever read. .
Sincerely,
L.J. Hal

This is a great book for a child at Christmas time. I purchased it for my son in the spring, and after reading it once, I think that this would be a good book to put away until Christmas.
Mr. Snow is a snowman that Santa brings to life with magic. Mr. Snow helps Santa in delivering all of the presents to all of the boys and girls.
This is probably the best Mr. Men book to get at Christmas time, but I wouldn't recommend it in the summer.

A very useful CD-ROM of neuroanatomy
Helpful Votes: 4 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2000-03-31
Review Date: 2000-03-31
This is an atlas of functional anatomy of the human brain that was produced using serial sections of intracranially fixed human brains and computer graphics. The atlas concentrates on the "neurofunctional systems" (the corticospinal system, the medial lemniscus, the limbic system, the basal ganglia, the visual and auditory pathways) as well as on the arteries, ventricles and sulci of the cerebral hemispheres. The CD-ROM is not only easy to use - for a neuroanatomy entusiast it is really funny. While the book version displayed "3D" reconstructions in 2D, the CD-ROM version permits also "real" 3D displays by using stereo glasses, the original 2D serial slices can be projected into the 3D images and the name of each structure is shown by placing the mouse pointer on it. The CD-ROM includes also a scholarly (hyper-) text of neuroanatomy with links to references and illustrations as well as key word search. The very complex spatial relations of the "systems" are made clear and easy, making this atlas a useful study tool for neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists and neurologists as well as other practitioners and students interested in brain anatomy.

I had previously tried to read the 3DS Max 2008 book by Foundation, and it was a horrible experience. It was filled with errors, was "paint by the numbers", did not explain to you why you were doing things, etc. I literally gave up.
I would urge anyone wanting to learn 3DS Max or Viz 2008 to buy and read this book by Jon McFarland instead, it is excellent.
