good job explaining concepts.
If I may suggest something that
has helped my studies greatly, a little book called
Don't Like to Read, Then Don't, Listen!: How to
Turn Any Type of Text Into Audio Files That Can
Be Read to You!. I know that many students out
there are like me and would rather listen to
material than have to read it themselves. I use
programs like the one that is reading this review
to have my texts read to me. This is a god send
for me. One can get this title on amazon.

Simply excellent. It provided adequate theory behind each of the experiments while explaining the experiments' procedures step by step.

Everything arrived in perfect order

This was a textbook needed for school. Version 7 seems to have been easier to read.

Mr. Powaski does a complete and thorough job of explaining the Nuclear Arms Race. This book is backed by meticulous research, as it uncovers facts and information that even a student of foreign relations may not be aware of. For example, most people have always understood that President Truman made the decision to drop the Atomic Bomb on Japan, when in fact Truman did not even know of the bomb's existence until the day that he became President in 1944 (the bomb was already in the works by 1941). The decision to drop the bomb was already made by the State Department before Truman had a say. This book will prove to be essential in any study of American diplomacy. One would be wise to consider what Powaski has to say in March To Armageddon.

I purcahsed this book for class. I loved the layout of the book and the exercises in each chapter. This book is a must have for those in retail.

I used this text in 2006 for a 300-level (upper-level undergraduate) psychology class called "Psychological Tests and Measures" that was taught by a PhD whose "thing" was tests and measures.

This text was better written than the following editions...and I paid next to nothing for it.

FYI I earned an A for the class and graduated with a BS in psychology last year.

This is a great basic medical-surgical book for nursing students and nurses. Almost every disease mentioned in the book are given nursing diagnoses and care planning guides. It gives basic knowledge on diseases that are out there, sign and symptoms, medical and surgical treatment, and what nurses can do for their patients. I used the first edition in nursing school (the author was our nursing school chairperson) and used the 2nd edition towards the end of nursing school. I even brought the copy to my job - it is very helpful especially when I have to write a care plan for my newly admitted patients. I just look up my patient's diagnosis and voila, the care plan is there - I use it for reference. My co-workers are even thankful that I brought it with me, they said that the book is very easy to use.

Lt. George Collins, who was a lawyer after the war, detailed the history of the 149th. From the time they were mustered in until the Grand Review and their subsequent home coming in Syracuse, Lt. Collins gives a wonderful dialogue of the 149th's adventures and hardships, including their time at Gettysburg, Chancellorsville, and Atlanta.

Reverend Chapman reminds us that Revelation was not written as a prediction of 21th century events. It was one Apocalyptic story among many and barely made it into the canon of New Testament scripture. It was attributed to a man named John who was very unlikely to have been John the Apostle. Revelation is filled with bizarre dreams and symbolism which are best interpreted within the context of the time and place. In the first couple of centuries CE when apocalyptic literature alluded to the enemy of God - that enemy was Rome. The anti-Christ was Rome's emperor.

The whole of Revelation (translation - "New American Bible") is provided, and after each few paragraphs of verse, Chapman gives detailed explanations of the strange language and mysterious symbols that make up Revelation. He shows that if it is interpreted within the context of the day, it is not nearly so unclear. He assists the reader further with a helpful "Thinking Aloud" segment each few pages.

To modern day Christians, Chapman gives this overall interpretation: Christians who suffer can be assured that God is in control over the forces of evil and believers can be confident that he will prevail.

Interestingly, Chapman is an Episcopalean minister and his book came to me through the Catholic Church my wife attends. I recommend it highly for those faithful Christians who desire a scholarly interpretation of Revelation as opposed to the common belief that the book predicts impending doom in the modern world.
