The first night we recieved our book, my husband and I stayed up half the night screeming, "Look at this . . . This is my son"! It set us on our way to see a specialist that knew something more than our family pediatrician did about this neurological complex.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, AND THANKS AGAIN!!!

A Rich Story of Complex LivesReview Date: 2008-03-16
In Susan Haley's Rainy Day People, Amber's story is about life. The highs and the lows happen; the promises of life are lived then withdrawn. And out of this, Amber learns to let go of the past and discover a new life and a new love.
After the death of her husband, Amber finds herself settled in a quiet, solitary life on the Florida coast. Much of the story that follows is about meeting Ben. Amber and Ben are drawn to each other, but these complex, rainy day people have much to consider.
To me, Amber's story shows the kind of courage that we often need as we go through life. At the same time it helps if we keep our perspective, enjoying the small things. Amber loves rainbows, nature, and driving fast in her convertible. She's a tiny, feisty, sometimes fun and always interesting heroine, someone that I wanted to know.
Above all, what Rainy Day People has going for it is truth. People who are rebuilding their lives have more than attraction to consider in new relationships. But then, let's not be too quick to discount attraction.
This is a rich story that kept me constantly involved. I highly recommend Rainy Day People.

A "magical" love storyReview Date: 2007-09-14
Rainbows are signs of love and hope in this fantastic book. I saw a completely round rainbow. I happened to look straight up to the sky and there it was, above my head. It was so far away that it was a small circle but all the colors were clearly visible. It too gave me comfort as I was adjusting to widowhood.
Susan Haley is an outstanding writer. Her ability to capture you made the book one of those you can't set down. The clever way she wrote and wove the ending shows why this is an award-winning book. This love story is based on her life experiences. It touched my very soul. I look forward to reading this book again so I can take the time to reflect on the spiritual insights expressed in the conversations between Ashley and Ben.
I recommend this book of courage, love, and of being in touch with all that is. It's like a spiritual awakening.

Amazingly accurateReview Date: 2008-10-15
And they are amazingly accurate. I found that the best way to use these cards, for me, is to ask 2 questions of the same subjects. Because when I ask "should I do this?, it become very unclear to me. But when I ask for the answers of 2 opposite choices, the answers are pretty clear. For example, when I ask "should I work?" and "Should I continue studying?" The answers were exactly the opposite. And maybe it's not the cards can predict the future or what is best for you. But I think what they do is helping you get clearer about what you want in life. It's so hard to find out and concentrate on what you really want because we have millions of thoughts in our heads. I think using the cards is another way to get the message from your true self of what you really want. Try it! You won't regret!

My Favorite DeckReview Date: 2007-12-10
One of my favorite oracle decks ever!Review Date: 2008-06-08
I have been reading cards for over 50 years now, starting with a regular Bicycle playing deck before moving on to various tarot and oracle decks. Since I give readings for a living, I'm picky about decks, and this one is on the top of my personal favorite list along with Choquette's "Trust Your Vibes" deck. This deck has been, for single card readings, the best I have ever used for myself. Although I have used it in giving some readings for others, I keep this deck mainly for my own use and refer to the "Trust Your Vibes" deck for clients (as well as several other decks, incl. the Abraham-Hicks "Well-Being" and "Law of Attraction" decks)!
You don't need to be a professional "reader" to use this deck effectively; it comes with an excellent little book in the box with the cards. Shuffle the cards with your question or issue on your mind and then choose a card and look up the meaning. You will be amazed.

A Fantastic Journey!Review Date: 2008-03-01
I discovered new techniques to utilize in my daily life with the various guides. There have been several occasions where I've requested their services and fully believe they have helped me. This book has helped me on my spiritual journey. A friend of mine and I are studying the book together now that we've both finished reading it.
I have recommended Ask Your Guides to many people and have given the book as a gift. A friend of mine and I are now studying the book together.

A good overviewReview Date: 2008-04-03
In this book, Sonia not only discusses the various angelic influences on our lives, but also goes into detail regarding the different roles that spirit guides can play in our lives, from "runners" who help us with practical details (yes, like finding a parking space!) to those who help us in a teaching capacity to transcend our egos and become more consciously aware.
I bought Sonia's book about a year ago after a psychic reading in which I was introduced briefly to one of my guides, and it was extremely useful in helping me meet and interact with the various spirits who form my guide team. I would certainly recommend it as an excellent overview of this subject. However, I'd also recommend that you read a variety of sources in this regard. This is mainly because interacting with spirit guides can be like interacting with people on the physical plane - we all have different ways of communicating with others, and what works for one person may not work for another. I certainly found it helpful to read about the different approaches that others have used, and to integrate these into a system that works for me. Ultimately, what matters is developing a strong and clear connection with your guides, and this can be achieved in multiple ways. Apart from Sonia's work in this regard, I've also benefited from the wisdom of Andrea Hess, Slade Roberson and Erin Pavlina. Currently, only Andrea has a book available, but I would encourage you to also visit her blog, as well as those of Slade and Erin.
When it comes to making the decision to buy a book like Sonia's and invest the time and effort into making a connection with your guides, possibly the most important questions needing answering are: Does it "work"? And is it worth it? The answers are: yes. And yes. It may feel strange at first to attempt to connect to your guides, especially since many people worry when they start whether they are really connecting or just making it all up. It is important to remember here that, because our minds bridge the physical and spiritual worlds, our guides use our thoughts and imaginations to connect with us. We have also been used to our guides presence since they've been communicating with us all along - we've just called it "a feeling", or "intuition". At the start it can then definitely feel like we are making it up because it seems so "normal" to us - there are no big booming voices from above! As you persevere, though, you will be able to tell the difference between communication from your guides and your own thoughts as they do have different energy signatures. As you learn more about guides from books like Sonia's, you'll have personal experience that convinces you that it "works". And in terms of it being worth the effort... well, the proof is in the pudding! Your life will be enriched by having access to a group of spiritual beings who love you, support you and guide you towards your highest path and purpose.

Excellent resource for labor Review Date: 2007-02-15
This book is appropriate for any birth setting whether home, free-standing birthing center, or hospital and is useful to labor nurses, doulas, montrices, and midwives. Ms. Perez includes implementation strategies for nurses working in highly technical, low touch environment who may encounter frustration as they attempt to buck the system. Throughout the book, the author offers encouragement and inspiration to those whose work with mothers is needed now more that ever before- the work of humanizing the birthing process.

The Nurturing Touch - Nurtured by this book!Review Date: 2006-10-17
With the birth of my first son I didn't know what to expect thought that just focusing on relaxation would be enough. While I did achieve the natural birh I desired, I felt unprepared in some ways becuase I felt I didn't have an ample supply of tools at my disposal to choose from.
Not so with my second child! Paulina's book helped me realize how many options are available for comfort during labor and I was able to have what I needed, when I needed it. I appreciated that you didn't have to be a registered nurse or medical professional to understand the book, but if you were you would certainly get something out of it!
Thanks Paulina!

Full of "Hope," wisdom and compassion!Review Date: 2007-12-18
I read Help Me Live following surgery and treatment for my own melanoma, based on recommendations at Amazon.com, and in the span of a week, I read it two more times, underlined the key passages and passed it along to my wife to read as well (because as surely as I had gone through all the cancer treatments, she had gone through them, too, while standing by my side!)
The book is not a how-to...because every case is different. There are no strict rules...because every patient is unique. The book is, simply, filled with the words and love of cancer victims and caregivers who share their stories in such a way so as to make them accessible to everybody.
While it would be wonderful that cancers could some day be eliminated and there would no longer be a need for Lori Hope's brilliant work, the reality is that cancer touches our lives all too frequently. In the case that it again touches my life, I would quickly buy this book for that friend and then make the phone call that says, "I'm here - what do you need?" or better yet, quietly give the embracing hug with no words.
Much More Than 20 Things...Review Date: 2008-03-29
Author Hope understood cancer with years as a medical reporter, documentary producer, and caregiver. With this background, she came to understand the importance of how to ask questions. She has used this skill in creating "20 Things" with interviews with patients, caregivers, psychotherapists, counselors, social workers, researchers and doctors.
More importantly, the book is laced with her own experience, having been diagnosed and treated for lung cancer. "Though I knew my friends and family wanted to help - and most did - some unwittingly said and did things that did not make me feel better."
This highly readable book is descriptive not prescriptive. The author wanted to avoid prescribing specific words or behaviors as patients react individually, but rather, to open a world of possibilities, giving us pause for thought. "I want to describe what helps and hurts without making friends and loved ones feel guilty about things they may have said or done in the past, and without prescribing exact words or actions for the future."
Besides the "20 Things," the author's afterword is filled with extensive information geared to specific issues: stage of treatment - from diagnosis to after treatment; various cancer types; the workplace; depression: gender and age; end of life issues; and "people of faith."
Other sections at the end include:
* To doctors and health providers
* An additional list of 21 more things to know
* 16 fabulous things people did and said to cancer patients
* 12 outrageous or awful things said to people with cancer
* 26 common phrases or words that sting
* 22 things most people with cancer like and want to hear
While this book was written to help us communicate with those facing cancer, I found this book to be a useful reminder for all communications since it is a guide on how to communicate more clearly, respectfully, and lovingly.
Listen, listen and listen. By watching and listening, one can learn what a person really wants and needs. "That's what the book is about. All want to be cared for and to feel understood and respected."
