Great Book on Korn Shell ProgrammingReview Date: 2005-06-08

Complete, comprehensive concordance of macrosReview Date: 2002-07-29
Each of the macros are described in detail, and the macros are grouped by function (administration, reports, and data dictionary and control).
The audience for this book is limited to systems programmers who will be developing and implementing IT Resource Management solutions in the data warehouse, and assumes the use of SAS products in the environment. If you are seeking a more basic book that introduces IT Resource Manager you will want to read "Getting Started With It Service Vision: Release 2" (ISBN 1580259146), which is less technical and will provide a better overview of features and how to use them at the user and data warehouse administrator levels.

Probably the best Kylix book currently outReview Date: 2002-08-20
The layout of the book was new to me in part because it's the first tech book from Wordware that I have read. It seems to flow correctly and I didn't notice any major editing issues. All the examples I tried worked and where laid out in a manner that was easy to understand.
Of special interest to me was the chapter on porting code back and forth between Windows and Linux. But one thing that did surprise me was the coverage on specific Linux development like IPC's, Semaphores & Debugging Shared Object Libraries.
It's also kind of handy having the Kylix Open edition on the included CD, saved me from a large download.
The only major negative from the book is that the tone of the writing does change from chapter to chapter, due to obvious tag team writing by the different books authors.

Really usefull!!Review Date: 2004-10-29
The new version is great. It tells you what you can use LDAP for, how to plan, deploy and support services. It also covers recent version of Sun Directory Server (5.2) and 2 the most popular versions of Solaris (8 and 9).
Highly highly recommended.

It is NOT a dummy's book, and requires some sophistication from the user, although no previous knowledge. On the other hand, it is well-written, concise (you won't need to read through 20 pages of irrelevant stuff for the author finally converge on the relevant concept), correct and complete.
I highly recommend it.
