This book has fabulous consulting cases and is written well. The longer cases are broken into parts so you have time to stop and think about what you would do and then read on to see what the consultants did in the next part and what the outcome was.

This is one of the best consulting case books ever written.

WOW- This is a great book, beautiful cover, great info. A MUST HAVE for anyone working in Maternal/Child Health. Even after working with breastfeeding women for years, there's still so much more to learn, and this book really does cover IT ALL. It is also A MUST HAVE for anyone taking the IBCLC exam! Very helpful.

Ms. Anderson's book really helped me get a handle on a game that i always thought too complicated to understand. Whenever i went to a craps table there was always people yelling and shouting bets, and the pace of the game is so rapid that i never felt comfortable asking questions. Ms. Anderson has simplified the game beautifully. I now take my $20 to the table from time to time with confidence and have fun. As she writes, its not about making a fortune, its about having fun and maybe even winning a few dollars.

Just trying to get myslef organized to focus on sales efforts, and I found this book very useful - replete with practical advice and hypothetical scenarios. Lean, to the point, actually (dare I say it) entertaining to read, as "professional" books go.

Based on research, the book presents contributions by experts (academicians and authors) on the challenges faced by those who purchase, and more indirectly, those who provide management consulting and other management advisory services (MAS). Of central concern is the degree of uncertainty faced by organizations in purchasing MAS, especially the more general type, management consulting. At the heart of the uncertainty is the difficulty faced by managers in assessing and evaluating potential providers. While there is some standardization in certain areas, there is generally a lack of universal standards of expertise. Trust becomes a key issue, and is explored in depth. Chapters concern: the "new professionalism" (characteristics of expertise in management consulting and temporary work); professional buying of expert services; how the need for MAS is determined (the 'make or buy' choice); CEO dealing with management consultants and why they are used in spite of considerable distrust; how companies seek to be professional buyers; use of the formal contract; and use of value-based pricing. The final chapters integrate the key themes of the contributors and add further depth and insights.

This book has many research-based conclusions and insights. As a reviewer and management consultant (www.FutureOrganization) I find this book absorbing in its penetrating treatment of its subject matter. It is not light reading, but well worth the effort. Very highly recommended for both those who make the buy decisions and consultants of all types.

I absolutely loved this book. I am a consultant and I loved every page of it. I am almost through reading it for the second time! Really great book to take with you and keep in your purse or wallet. I cant wait for the next edition!

I borrowed this book from the technical library at work and was very pleased with the fact that both theory and application are covered concisely yet thoroughly. I was therefore delighted to find it available on amazon.com!

In this book are tables for selecting values of components in designing whatever type of filter you desire (Chebyshev, Butterworth, Bessel, and others). Originally written before everyone had a PC on his or her desk, one can design a filter with as many poles as desired with specified frequency cutoffs and impedances in a few short minutes! In addition, the theory behind various filter calculations is laid out for those who desire to delve into theory.

I recommend this book for engineers and engineering students. In this digital age, it's nice to be able to design analog circuits!
