Accounting Books

I read a couple of books on this topic but could not find a comprehensive overview of the field until I read Corporate Environmental Accounting. Now I use it for executive seminars. Tom Thomas

Very good introductory book. Lots of examples, with funny names for the companies. It gives an international perspective, but mostly focused on the EU. I attended Tim Sutton's lectures at the IESE business school, and the book helped me understand accounting from a nule previous knowledge on the field.

This book is ideal for managers of internationally oriented businesses who want to get a grip of the financial accounting statements produced by accountants and auditors.

The positive message that the authors send out is that accounting is not that difficult. This book is clear in its structure and language. The reader is gently taken by the hand and shown how to dissect any financial report, whatever its underlying accounting methods.

Readers have to be aware that because of its international perspective, the prime focus is on analysis and not on writing a financial statement.

I truly enjoy this book and would recommend it to anyone in the profession or interested in becoming a part of it. While the book is very informative,including many facts and figures, it reads like one is having a session of "shop talk" with the author and telling war stories. I rarely have a hard time putting nonfiction down, but this book is truly a gem.

This is the strength of COSO-ERM: includes all aspects of any business form and it also "concerns and impacts people beyond the executive offices" (Moeller, 346). After you read this book, you will be ready to move up to a higher level of understanding COSO ERM as well I am prepared to participate on an active role of this framework.

For less than $75 you will gain a deep knowledge for understanding COSO-ERM. It is WORTHY to invest on this book! I can't wait to reading more about Moeller's experience and knowledge about COSO-ERM as he could expand it on subsequent editions of this MASTERPIECE!

This is the best text for Cost accounting I have come across in years. It is well organised, well written, the information is clearly presented and it contains a fair amount of detail. The questions range from multiple choice to theory to really long numericals.
Only one quibble - this book is such an old edition it does not contain a number of key topics. If it could just be updated to the 21st century it would beat all others, including Horngren, hollow.

This book is brilliant. I know it's not selling that well, but that's due to marketing not to the content, design ... If you're looking for a book on cost and management accounting, this is the one to choose. You can tell it's written for new starters to the subject; but it really does take you through to a fairly advanced level. It's REALLY well written, too.

I originally bought this product for a class, but the instructor rarely used it because he didn't like it that much. I had a difficult time understanding what this book was communicating because it was written in such a way that it isn't very easy to understand.

Amazon had the best price for this book overall. I'm an online student and would have to order my books from the College Campus Bookstore. Their price was originally cheaper but only for a used book. However, with shipping and handling their price came out to be more than Amazon's new book price. Besides, Amazon offers the study guide too.
