Metzger does the best job I've seen on jump-starting your creativity, and tying your writing into archetypes. There's lots for the reader who wants to think of writing as a spiritual exercise. BUT for me, by far, its great gift is pragmatic. Between books, or when I feel stuck, or at the beginning of a revision, I take out "On Story" and work through all her suggestions as if it were the first time. I always come up with something new and deeper relevant to THIS story--or I come up with a new story entirely. If you are ready to get past Natalie Goldberg to the goods, here's the book. It helped me tremendously with my last novel.

This book is incredible. I wish this book were around when I was a baby. It would make my doctor's appointments so much easier. I'm so grateful that I can do this for my baby so that she'll have no questions about her medical records from day 1. My only complaint about this book is that it's impossible to find. When I first heard about this book 4 months ago, I searched everywhere to get it. I just now found it. I'm not sure if it's out of print or just in high demand, but it's difficult to find. If it were easily accessible, I would be giving this as a baby gift for every shower I attend.

A must-have for parents

I purchased 2 of these books as I have two children 23 months apart. I found this book to be invaluable in keeping their medical records straight and in one place. I bring the books to their pediatrician appointments with me and document everything right there - great space provided for well visits, illnesses, surgeries, medications, etc. Even my pediatrician thought it was terrific - she had never seen it. And for when my children are adults, they will have a good history of their health for their own familiy records. I have recommended this book to all my friends who are parents as indeed a must-have. All moms seem to know about "what to expect when you're expecting" and I think all need to know about this as well. Kudos to the author!

This book is a blessing. When my daughter was 6 months old, she had numerous recurring medical problems, from ear infections to allergies. I searched and searched for something to record all of the information that I was trying to keep track of. I was so desperate that I thought about authoring some type of journal myself. However, I stumbled upon this Medical Journal, and it is truly wonderful. It has sections to record anything about your child's medical information. Truly Wonderful!!!!

I received this book as a gift and I LOVE IT. Being a new mom this book has given me an understanding of what to expect at each doctors appt. It has also helped me with tracking any medication that my little guy has used. I find it hard to remember names of all the drugs out there, and then trying to remebered if they worked? This book has help me track that kind of information, plus all the other details I learn at each doctors visit. The one addition I have made to this book is I have added tabs to each section. When I am in the doctors office I like to flip to diffrent sections of the book while talking with the nurse or doctor. I can get the answers faster in my book that the nurse or doctor cana by flipping through thier files and charts. I now give this book to anyone having a baby, it is the most valued gift we have rec'd... and it is for life. Thanks for a great book.

With today's HMO environment it is a way to keep your doctors informed about past history and family medical problems as well. I buy 12 at a time. You can never have enough on hand for gifts! If you love your child you must own this book. It could save a life!

I just got my book today and was going to email Dawn personally to tell her how great it turned out, but then decided I should share it here with other potential readers too.

When I heard about the book, I was afraid that the pages inside were going to be tiny thumbnails, or a lot of stuff from a few people like many books on the market. Neither of these problems are true... the pages are big enough that I could read the journal text from just about every page. That's another part of my praise... most of the pages include real journaling, not just collage in a book labeled as "art journaling" as I have seen before, which is less my preference.

The neat thing about being able to read the words on pages was to be connected with so many people that have so many of the same anxieties about being enough and doing enough... artists connected on so many planes in so many ways. I also really liked that, because of the many pages in the book, I began to recognize what types of pages caught my attention. I realized that I want to be able to work in the brighter colors that I was drawn to in the book.

There was also really great contrast in pages that were simple to complex, and I realized I really liked a lot of the very sparse stenciled pages. And pages were submitted from international audiences too, not just people from the US. There are also several submissions from men. I was happy that the collection of pages reached different demographics, and I saw many new names alongside those artists I've long admired.

I was reading one page in the book and saw references to local places (Saint Cupcake and Lincoln School) and realized it must be another Portlander. This made me wish that the names alongside the pages included city and state of the artists, as it gave me added energy to know about the local creative forces at play.

I have several pages in the book, and my books were handled kindly and photographed well. My name was spelled right. All that was cool. Dawn also accepted a submission of one of my mother's art journal pages. My mother died last August and would have adored this book. It is really an honor to have her page next to mine, and I look forward to sharing the book with my family.

I don't know Dawn and have only had contact with her in relationship to submitting my pages. But I am honestly impressed by how well done this book is, even outside my limited contribution. It is image heavy, and the pages are rich, honest,deep, serious and fun. There is much range in the styles, but the selection of contributed pages is quite excellent. I think this book will provide inspiration to a wide range of art journalers, and is not a repeat of any past books on the subject. It's a keeper.

This is a truly gorgeous and inspirational book featuring the work of well-known art journalists, as well as worthy newcomers and unknowns. I was pleased to discover several fresh faces; so often in recent art journaling books it's been the same six or seven people featured. The artists' work is presented without editorial comment. The layout is not too crowded, and the color reproduction appears to be good. Lots and lots of inspiration here for art journalists who want new ideas and a fresh perspective. The variety of the work is phenomenal and international, in several different languages, and from every corner of the globe. I had to earmark many pages for closer study in my studio. A great reference volume, especially for teachers of art journaling.

This is the greatest book. The entire book is photos of art journalists pages with corresponding numbers that lead to a Artist in the back of the book with thier emails or websites. The Forward ask the question Why Journal? and gives many different answerrs and views which I found interesting. There are also 2 pages of journal prompts for you to get started in Art Journaling, this was helpful to me since I'm a beginner. If that weren't enough, there are 2 pages of Resources in the back that list places to buy supplies, different magazines and artzines, books and online inspiration.

This is not a book you will buy and look at just once if you are an art journaler. I've looked through this book many different times. So many of the pages just "speak" to me in so many different ways. You won't be sorry you purchased this book. It is unique and unlike any other book I've purchased so far and I have quite a few now.

I think Dawn did a fabulous job with it and all the artist's who contributed their pages do wonderful work. I hope she publishes another book in the future. I'm a fan.

If you are looking for a book that does it all, this is it. Each page is a wonderfully modern treatment of the wildlife and artistic essence of unspoiled Africa. Beautiful collections of drawings, and sketches using photographs of field notes really sets off the wonderful format of the book. The artwork is breathtaking and the paintings will make your heart stir with the desire to be in Africa yourself. This is the next best thing.

This book is for anyone who loves Africa, wildlife and or artwork. It has pages and excerpts from his field sketchbooks, drawings, sketches and paintings. The artwork is exquisite. What makes it a must have is that you also get a well written brief history/description of the countries, the national parks, animals and people residing in each region interposed with Kim Donalson's personal experiences. It makes you feel like you have been there.

For anyone who has been on safari or only dreamed of going, for animal lovers everywhere, and for those who love Africa or want to know more about the continent, this is an extraordinary guide. What I loved was the quality of the art (virtually photographic), but with a translucence and depth that photographs cannot match coupled with the insiders commentary that is incredibly humble, given the authors obvious knowledge of the subject. One of the finest African wildlife books ever and a definitive addition to my collection. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

The Strand Book Stall at Bangalore was having its yearly sale in DEC.2003. I was out there browsing when I ran into this gorgeous elephant on the cover of this book. I get this feeling about books and knew I had to buy this one - it reminded me of the book by Ernest Thompson Seton that I read way back in 1986. It set me back by INR 1,615, but what the heck; the "Lions of the Serengeti" on pp. 12-13 itself recovered the cost of the "investment"!

The more I go through this book, the more I am amazed. Somehow, Kim Donaldson has come out with a masterpiece on Nature in Africa in all its glory and has been able to capture the many animals and their many moods in their natural habitat in a style that makes you feel that you have "walked the walk and experienced the silence" of Africa. Here's Kim's idea of a painting: "The way I decide the worth of a painting of Africa is by the feeling it evokes - whether it makes me homesick."

There are real gems right through the book. Tucked away at the top of the painting titled Grevy's zebra on pp. 154-155 is this African song of praise to the zebra:
~~~~~
You, who are night & day in one body
You, who are dark & light in one form
You, who are good & evil in one shape
Animal of two colors, animal of perfect harmony.
~~~~~

I browse this book at the junction points of a day: dawn and dusk. It reminds me of Sri Ramakrishna's observation that Nature is a majestic expression of divinity. It also reminded me of a particular verse in the Bhagavad Gita. So I hunted for the same in the copy of the Bhagavad Gita that I have, which is a translation by Barbara Stoler Miller (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0553213652/104-8977925-4483157).

After some searching, I found the verse:
~~~~~
Deluded men despise me
in the human form I have assumed,
ignorant of my higher existence
as the great lord of creatures.
~~~~~

Imagine my shock when I noticed that the number of the verse was 9.11 (Chapter 9, Verse 11)!

Good News: The Saga Continues
Helpful Votes: 10 out of 10 total.
Review Date: 2003-03-08
The Journals of Will Barnett - "Uncle Sean", "Lance" and now "All Over Him" - make a wonderful series. In "Uncle Sean" we meet Will at age 14 when he untangles those mysterious feelings that lead to the understanding of being gay. In "Lance", Will meets the love of his life. Now, in "All Over Him", Will and Lance's love for each other is tested as they go off to college and experience being apart from each other.

As a fan of the first two books, I was happy when the third book was published. I wanted to learn what happens to Will and Lance. Writing a love story about two guys eighteen hundred miles apart is a particular challenge. Donaghe is certainly up to the task as he addresses separation, temptation and reunion of these two great characters.

Set primarily in Austin, Will lives with Uncle Sean as he attends the University of Texas. Austin's a great setting. Moving from a small town in the desert of New Mexico, we meet a variety of gay characters, good, bad and indifferent as Will is exposed to the bigger world and the temptations and complexities that it offers.

Off in San Francisco, Lance continues to develop as an artist. It would be nice to know more of what he's going through but, unfortunately, you can't be in two places at once. Donaghe does do a good job of keeping him an integral part of the story but it's primarily in letters or over the phone. I'd hate to have their long distance bills!

I especially liked meeting up with Sean again. He's as appealing now as he was in the first book. It's gratifying to see Will and Uncle Sean come to terms with their feelings for each other. Sean also confronts his own wounds and Will's amusing attempts to find him a partner.

"All Over Him" is a more mature book than the first two. It addresses the realities and complexities of maintaining a relationship. While I confess some disappointment that it moves away from the unabashed romanticism of the earlier books, Donaghe is still a romantic. Like the rest of us, Will and Lance have to grow up. Donaghe's major themes of love and family hold the book on course. And the endings for Sean, Will and Lance are rewarding. It makes you want to write Donaghe and beg for a fourth book in this superb series.

Ron Donaghe is three for three with "All Over Him"

"All Over Him" is the seamless continuation of the story of Will and Lance, begun in the first installment, "Uncle Sean" and picked up again in "Lance." Once again Ron Donaghe has the reader glued to the pages following Will and Lance as they navigate the events of their lives, in a world relentlessly telling them that long-term, committed love between two men is an elusive dream. Alone and together they face what could be the biggest test yet of their love and the reader won't know the outcome until the very end.
Once again, with remarkable consistancy, Ron Donaghe speaks as Will in a completely believable, almost too believable way, often leaving the reader wondering if Will is out there too, reading his own story.
"All Over Him" answers the question about the permamancy of love shared by two men.

Another great contribution to the Continuing Journals of Will Barnett, "All Over Him" finds its storyteller, Will Barnett, in his freshman year of college, hundreds of miles away from the love of his life, Lance. Even as the boys stay in contact with regular phone calls, external factors threaten to tear them apart. Ron Donaghe continues to bring to bear his considerable skill as a writer and storyteller himself, working in real-life events from the era of his story (in this case, the early 1970's) to make the tale that much more vivid. Donaghe writes with a compassion and respect that leaves the reader feeling like he just spent time with old friends by the time the story concludes. A must read for all fans of Will's story, old and new. --Andrew Barriger, author of Finding Faith.

More complex, closing the series for now.

Review Date: 2003-07-19
While the first two books in The Continuing Journals of Will Barnett focused on young gay love in an anti-gay setting, this longer, more complex installment uses that relationship to explore the difficulties of lasting gay relationships and the challenges of a growing gay civil rights movement. Setting the book in Austin and San Francisco during the 1970s gives author Ronald L. Donaghe many opportunities to examine those changing times, while still keeping the focus on Will and Lance.

The young lovers now find themselves split between those two cities, because of college and life-long ambitions. As with any long-distance relationship, theirs becomes tested in many ways. However, unlike their heterosexual counterparts, they lack role models for their relationship, since even Will's beloved Uncle Sean has not maintained the lasting love he sought.

This book's epilog closes the journals out for now, with Donaghe giving some clever winks and nods to his many loyal readers. We know we can expect at least one more visit with Will and Lance, and that we can expect many more unforgettable characters from the ever-creative mind of Ronald L. Donaghe.

Donaghe gets better and better. "All Over Him" is a worthy addition to this lovely series. Here we find Will and Lance trying to stay true to each other though separated by distance. Of course this is not easy. Thrown into a different environment, each young man has to overcome temptation and desires which seems an impossible feat in the real world. But this is fiction, and should gives us hope that monogamy is possible.
Being a sentimental fool, I find myself screaming at Will to just drop everything and go to Lance. But I understand Donaghe's message. Will is only 19 and needs to sort out his feelings for his Uncle Sean, whom he loves since 14, and his husband, Lance. Uncle Sean's emotional search for one true love to spend his life with just tugs at my heart. I am glad he finally found Hank and Hanky Hank. The ending is satisfying but I hope Donaghe is not considering to end the series. All Over Him is one year in Will's life when he was 19. I am sure Will and Lance has much more to tell.

This book is better than J.R. Moehringer's The Tender Bar and the The Tender Bar is a near perfect Memoir. Here is the difference. With Moehringer, like Crandell, you are getting a story that will change you, but with Crandell's The All-American Industrial Motel you are right there beside Doug, hearing what he is hearing, seeing what he sees, and trying to breathe like Doug is trying to breathe. Chapter 18, is one of the best chapters in modern literature. Those who need this book the most, men twenty-six to forty, the Gen Xer's, whose confusion and raw votes led us to the America we have today--the killing--will try to say Crandell's account of finding your life in the Reagan Years and it's black greed wake, doesn't apply. But a few oh so lucky ones will know they have finally found the salve. While they didn't grow up in the forsaken tornado flatland of Northern Indiana, they still struggled and are still struggling with everything Doug Crandell has been so brave to share. Crandell has raised the shades men. It's time to give up the Kettle One. Put the Red Bull and Jaeger back on the shelf men and pick up Crandell's All-American Industrial Motel. Those products were meant for someone else your same age, not you. You are the son of your own father. Thank you Doug Crandell.

This exquisite Memoir will split your heart in two and you will wonder how you had survived with just the one before. The union workers in The All-American Industrial Motel are men I have known and loved my whole life. Their lives are as true as the story Doug tells of his awesome summer in Indiana working in the ceiling tile factory with them and it has taken me three quiet days to gain sufficient perspective from the book to write about it. It is that piercing, that honest, the voices so vulnerable that the reader is raw from the connection.
Doug Crandell writes to us so much of himself and of so much love and respect for his family that you want at once to hide in the life you've made, safe from the hurt of having left, all the while longing to be there again soaking up all the intricacies of family.
To real work, real love and real risk the author pays homage and I am grateful to have been in the audience for such bravery!

Like his first memoir, Pig Boy's Wicked Bird, the All-American Industrial Motel takes place during one pivotal year in Doug Crandell's life. In this new memoir, the year is 1990 and Crandell is one class away from college graduation and is working at a factory in Indiana along with his father. The farm is gone, and his family has been facing tough times. The tension within the family at this point is volatile, and Crandell's deteriorating relationship with his father is described in fantastic detail. Crandell finds an escape in his friendship with Jerry, a rough co-worker who he's known most of his life but has only befriended during his time in the factory. His ordeal is heart-wrenching as he tries get his father to open up emotionally and balances whether he should just leave with his degree or stay and become a "lifer" at the factory as he watches those who have taken this path. The book may seem bleak, but you will not be able to put it down. You feel a connection with Crandell, and will find yourself drawn in by the people who he befriends in the factory. You will also find yourself frustrated by Crandell's own frustrations and his family's bad decisions. Crandell is a writer of extraordinary ability, a wordsmith which you should not dismiss.

My Top Ten list of American writers changes with my mood and interests. The list is populated by Sherwood Anderson, David James Duncan, Ezra Pound (not from Europe, but from Idaho actually!), Steinbeck, Tennessee Williams, Delillo, O'Connor, et al. But, with his earlier work, PigBoy, Doug Crandell leapt onto the list, and his place is cemented by his latest memoir, The All-American Industrial Motel. The story is tender and frightening in the way that secrets between fathers and sons can be: the truth you both know but don't dare speak. The book is funny, heart-felt, and strangely riveting. Having had more minimum-wage jobs than I care to recall, where I was the college boy amongst the blue-collars, relating to this story, and the thick atmosphere of the factory culture, is comforting in the way that sleep is after pulling a double shift.

Crandell reveals enough herein to make one nervous with an anticipation of future events that other authors could never wring from common lives. This is the author's gift: making the melancholy struggle of mid-west lives seem more important than those we read of in the tabloids. And of course, they are. Thanks Doug for a great book!

This book really brought the plight of disability home. Whether depressed or physically challenged, we can do many things to help ourselves. Chenoa really learned to play her cards and with the help of her friends, she took the adventure of a life time. I really enjoyed the book and think that it is worth a read for everyone. With her friends by her side, she really came through with power! Loved it. Thanks for the adventure and the thouthfulness Mary-Elizabeth!

I couldn't get enough of this book. Chenoa really came through her adventure, realizing what it was to overcome her problems and to live life to it's fullest. Am I Dead Yet was entertaining and thought provoking. It is a very powerful and entertaining book. You can laugh and cry on the same page. Chenoa, the champion, learns to play the whole hand instead of giving up on life. Whatever your situation in life, you realize that it really isn't so bad. If Chenoa could make it through, then so can the rest of us! Wonderful story!

A Wondferful Adventure!

This book will lose you in a matter of moments, into the whimsical adventures of Chenoa and her many friends. There are many moments, where I found myself laughing out loud, and crying, as though these situations were happening to you. Mary-Elizabeth has done a wonderful job of making you feel as though you were right there with Chenoa, instead of looking in from the ourside. I highly recommend this story if you love adventure, or have any type of debilitating disease, as the book is so inspiring and real to us all.

The main character in this book is one of the most inspiring, strong female protagonists I've ever read about. Everything she goes through, she becomes a better person from it. She's flawed, and very human.

It brought tears to my eyes, and sometimes made me laugh. All in all, a beautiful story that people will remember for a long time.

As a copy editor and proofreader in the medical and pharmaceutical advertising and communications industries, this text is necessary for my work, as most of my clients use AMA style as THEIR style. However, I have found that this series of texts changes every few years simply as a money maker for the AMA. Only minute changes seem to be made from edition to edition. (I will say, however, that this edition seems to cover many more topics and issues.) In addition, it never seems to fail that what I am looking for, I can't find. The Index could use quite a bit of work. In addition, this text is quite expensive, in my humble opinion. But, as I said in the title for this brief review, this text is "A Necessary Evil."

This is a great resource for editors/proofreaders/medical writers, especially since the style varies so much from the usual MLA and AP styles. Mine is tagged up and sits on my desk, at the ready, as I proofread and edit.

At long last, the go-to guide for medical writers and editors is revised

At long last, the 10th Edition of the AMA Manual of Style is finally available, and I am happy to say it was worth the wait. As an editor who has worked in medical journals, scientific Web sites, and an agency specializing in pharmaceutical advertising, I found the 9th edition to be, at times, a bit dated and not as easy to navigate as I would have hoped. Most of those problems have been resolved in the 10th edition, as well as the inclusion of some new information that I didn't even know I was missing until I found.

The following is a list of changes in the new edition of the style guide that I found particularly helpful and relevant, and will hopefully be a quick go-to guide when you're debating whether to buy the new version or hold fast to the 9th edition.

- The section on Correct and Preferred Usage has moved from Chapter 9 to Chapter 11 and includes a wealth of information that was not in the previous edition. There is more information about the difference between race and ethnicity and when it's relevant to include sexual orientation in a scientific manuscript.

- An extended section on electronic references (3.15, 63-72). This new info is highly relevant considering since 1998 (when the 9th edition was released) there have been a number of innovations with the Internet and a number of authors choose to use the Web as sources of information.

- The section on manuscript preparation is vastly improved and expanded (Ch 4). It includes more information on the different types of tables and figures as well as new guidelines for the use of symbols and footnotes.

- Of particular interest to journal editors, there is more information on authorship requirements, conflicts of interest, sources of funding, and copyright and permissions basics (Ch 5).

- The section on capitalization demonstrates that, not only can the AMA editors laugh at themselves, but that they're also familiar with the lyrics of Coolio (eg, There is no party like a West Coast party because a West Coast party doesn't stop. 10.3, 375). The section on capitalization also includes newer terms like iBook and eBay that are more relevant to modern writing (10.8, 380).

- In terms of grammar, some of the rules that always give editors trouble are more explicitly outlined and in more detail. There's a longer section on the use of that and which (7.2, 318), which I still have to look up occasionally. A final ruling on the health care vs healthcare debate (always 2 words, per AMA, 11.1, 395). And more specific rules on false/parenthetical plurals and sentences with compound subjects (7.8)

- A change in the use of states in references. All will use postal codes now, instead of the former abbreviations (14.5, 451-455).

- An expanded section on international currency (18.5.12, 817-819).

- The section on terminology has been expanded to include information about different specialties, including psychiatry, ophthalmology, and obstetrics (Ch 15). This section also includes a new chart with human viruses that is expanded and easier to navigate (15.14.3, 762-767).

- There is a more comprehensive copyediting section, including information on editing numerical information (21.1, 907; 23.1, 929-933).

- And finally, and most importantly for all newer medical editors and writing, there is a more informative resources guide with professional organizations aimed at scientific writers and editors as well as grammar and editing resources (25, 967-976).

As a whole, I'm very pleased with the new edition of the AMA style guide, and can't wait to incorporate the new changes into my own work.

I've been waiting for this book since becoming a medical editor 3 years ago. It is completely updated for modern-day medical communications and now includes extensive sections with Internet-related information. I use it nearly every day and absolutely love it.

This was not just a story of Ginni's battle with breast cancer. It is a story of family ties, especially the bond between sisters. It is a story of courage, encouragement, hope, the power of prayer, the importance of friendships, realizations, truth, honesty, love, bravery, celebration and devotion.
I loved the lessons on how to treat and talk to a person with a terminal illness.
This is a book that you do NOT want to pass on, but rather, leave by your night stand to go over and over again.
I will buy copies of this book to give as gifts to sisterfriends to let them know how important they are to me in my life.
Moving, touching, inspirational.

This book, written by a loving sister about her strong and optimistic sister, teaches readers about the warning signs of breast cancer and its treatments, while providing inspirational testimony from and about a woman who never gave up her desire to life or her faith in God. Trace was a beautiful woman in life, whose story now lives on in death, to encourage others to stay strong in the midst of whatever trials life has to offer. This story should be read by anyone who has cancer, is a survivor of cancer, has a loved one with cancer, or who has endured any form of hardship during the course of his/her life. It acts as a reminder never to give up, or to give in, regardless of whatever challenges one may face. Trace's story has brought tears to my eyes and warmth to my heart, as I'm sure it will to countless readers.

It took a great woman like Trace to turn such a tragic disease into an encouraging story that touches everyone who has ever faced adversity. Karen West's personal anecdotes and emotional testimony channel Trace's message throughout the pages of this heartwarming record of the life of a great woman.

Trace's life is an inspiration to us all and Karen shows what sisterhood and love are all about.

I love this calendar! I have already ordered the 2003-2004 and can't wait for it to arrive. Having the grocery list on hand each week is a lifesaver! This calendar has really helped me organize myself and my family and it's very easy to tell that a mom designed it! I highly recommend it!

This organizer is a God send! Everything a "soccer mom" needs to keep her life in order. In the back is a section you record your kids activities, phone numbers, days of the week they attend. I also have a place for phone numbers and addresses of my kids friends. Recently, I went away for a week and left this book with the sitter. She loved it! All the information she needed was right there in this book. I'd recommend this book to any mom & it's perfect for giving.

I came to Amazon.com today to put this item on my wish list and there are only 3 left with more on the way. That should tell you that this book is in high demand. It has everything you need to keep your life/family organized. A tear out grocery list, growth and gratitude area, plenty of extra pages for notes, the year in review, baby sitter information, children's play friends, quick reference address/phone #'s, and even stickers for dr's appointments, birthdays, anniversary, vacation, no school, half days, bill reminders. This book also runs Septemeber thru December of the following year so it starts with the school year. This book is awesome

I have used this calendar for the last two years. Last year I got it on clearance after the first of the year. This year, I bought it early so I wouldn't miss out entirely! Amy Knapp has thought of everything in this book - a weekly grocerly list, important information and phone numbers, information for the babysitter, a long range planner. The stickers are great too, so I can easily find something I am looking for - such as a birthday or a Doctor's appointment. I'll be shopping for the new calendar in August next year!

When I became a stay-at-home mom a couple of years ago, my life got even more chaotic than when I worked outside of the home. I seemed to be getting involved with everything and my personal organizer from my accounting days wasn't getting the job done. When I found this wonderful book, it helped in so many ways. I even have my husband and sons trained to "check the book" when they want the answer to any scheduling, meal, or important info questions. It goes everywhere with me! A superior tool for families!
