Computer Graphics Books

I own "Vegas 5 Editing Workshop," have read through "Instant Vegas," and spend a lot of time on several Vegas and DV online forums, and this book is the best resource I have found for the Vegas newbie looking to edit video (if your main use of Vegas is for audio, you might prefer "Vegas Editing Workshop").

This book is like the Adobe "Classroom in a Book" series. Each chapter presents you with a new set of Vegas tools, an explanation of how they work and what you might do with them, then gives you a few "real world" hypothetical situations to work on with your new tools. The chapters end with an explanation of how you should have attacked the problem, step by step.

Well written and polished. The best Vegas book out there for the beginner.

I have Vegas 4.0 Editing Workshop(Class on Demand) and Vegas 5 Update(Class on Demand) along with the Naked Vegas 5 book and the book is better than both DVD sets. The Vegas 4.0 Editing Workshop is good quality but it just keeps going on and on, and the Vegas 5 Update is just terrible. If you want to learn Vegas 5.0 and you enjoy doing that by completing Labs then this book is the book for you. This book will teach you almost all you need to know about Vegas, then you should go to the various Vegas forums to pick up the advanced features of the best Video Editing software out there for all people.

I had one week before class started when I placed the order, so much to my surprise when I received the book after two days! I was very pleased with the quick delivery and the fine condition of the book. I would definitely order from them again in the future.

This book is the tops. All of the artists in this book are great. The content is great as well, it gives a short bio and general information on each artist as well as a list of what they use to design. Great book, please buy it.

After reading a review in one of my favourite monthlys I rushed to purchase a well researched and produced piece of graphic literature. A beautiful composition ranging from traditional media(paints, crayons...) to 3dimensional pieces of computer based work. Well worth my hard earned cash.

Without any previous knowledge of Photoshop, I was able to get around and manipulate images. This guide professionally cuts down lengthy,pointless paragraphs and gets down to the real business of explaining how to use this application. As Foghorn Leghorn would say "Boy, I say, get your head out of those long-winded books..." That's what my friends used to tell me when I was reading 500 page+ books on getting started with Photoshop. Even the instruction manual that comes with Photoshop is long winded. This book is all you need to get up and running. I thought I knew the best ways to do color correction until I read this book. Get this book today if you plan on designing tommorow!

This book is really excellent, it have a lot the exercices and tips about Photoshop 6.0, the chapter about the photoshop plugins is wonderfuld and the color and color corrections references great too.

I loved it, i think it is the best book available until now, it has fabulous graphics, examples, the quality is the best i have ever seen in a book !!

The book brings it all home. It has a dedicated center section with photo glossy pictures of the final projects you create step by step through the book. It also teaches some very essential tricks on photo retouching, text manipulation and layers. This book deepened my understanding of Photoshop considerably. I owe these guys a lot. The book can also be read in a non-linear fashion with great results.

As a real beginner to Photoshop, I've had some disappointing experiences with the so-called "easy" guide to the program. The Dummies series were too wordy and the Visual Quick Guide was too confusing for your first step. This book offers something in-between and the advantages of both.Part 1 contains Techniques and Part 2 has Projects where you can actually learn to apply the techniques. The book walks you through the features in a simple and clear manner yet with enough explanations.This is a great book for starters.
