This is a smart, delightful book, a gentle send-up (and celebration of) cats, cat owners and gay culture. For those who have ever sat miserable at their office desks wondering what Fluffy was getting up to at home, IS YOUR CAT GAY? furnishes some very amusing scenarios. The text is witty and the drawings are droll, perfect little gems. Read it to your cat.

Fantastic! Altho this book is an older guidebook (where to eat, where to stay, what to see and do around Victoria, Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands) it stands up well. My copy is dogeared and very well worn 10 years after I purchased it. Forget about the Butchart Gardens - this book leads you to the lesser known gems that locals know about but tourists rarely discover. It's a classic, written in a lively chatty style. Wish it were more widely available - a great gift to anybody visiting this area (or locals!)

Jack Oakie's Oakridge is full of pics and anecdotes of the great home currently at the corner of Devonshire and Reseda blvd. in Northridge, Ca. The 11 acres the property has been whittled down to is soon to be developed,so you better go see it NOW. Oakie's widow donated the home and property to USC before she died, with the understanding it would remain. Well, she's been gone about 4 years now, and the ungrateful jerks at USC have sold it to developers, who 'claim' (read 'lying through their teeth') the house will PERHAPS remain as a 'community center'. A community center for 11 homes to be built around?? Come on! This book is a wonderful reminder of how life could be before Starbuck's, Chevy dealers and mini malls surrounded the area. I myself have hopped the fence (book in hand) and matched shots w/ the book. The house was originally built in '35 for Barbara Stanwyck and Robert Taylor, and was known as MARWYCK RANCH, after the horse breeding business Stanwyck had with her then manager, ZEPPO MARX. Originally over 100 acres, the house now sits forlornly overlooking the valley. See it before it's gone!

This book is beautiful; well illustrated. If you collect netsuke, ojimi beads, etc., then this book is very informative and well written.

Joey's Birthday wish is an outstanding book that was written by a sixth grade boy. It is the touching story of a boy that examines the selfishness of his past birthday wishes. He realizes what his mother's favorite quotation truly means by experiencing the lives of the homeless. Matthew's colorful descriptions made the book a joy to read. I would strongly urge you to take the time to read this touching story by one of our nation's talented youth! :-)

A very clever, well thought out, informative and helpful book on emotions. Easy to read. Many useful examples on how to incorporate strong emotional health and well being into your life! Highly recommended.

This book is life changing. It's a hands-on, practical guide to healing your heart and overcoming your past. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

This is an excellent book for people going through a rough time. The author went through many trials and tribulations but in the end God helped her through it all. The book gives you hope and encouragement. I would recommend this book to anybody. It's a page turner and once you start reading it, you can't put it down.

Kaffe Fassett has done it again.The master of color has 17 wonderful projects for knitting as well as needlepoint and you just can't help but be inspired by this book. The yarns used in this great rainbow of projects are Rowan's, but you can substitute other yarns and achieve your own effects - make it to match your sofa or perhaps your love's green eyes.

The photography is by Steve Lovi, who lovingly captures all the nuances and subtle colors in Mr Fassett's work. (Mr Lovi has worked on other books with Mr Fassett.) The "Persian Poppy Waistcoat" is terrific, the "stars and diamonds" seiries of sweaters have to be seen to be believed and the needlepoint is out of this world amazing. The instructions are concise and clear.

This is not a book for a beginning knitter, but if you're looking to jump start your knitting, maybe make a truly glorious sweater for yourself or a loved one, this book is the place to start. I recommend this book highly.

If you're interested in learning about Kant's conception of happiness, I highly recommend starting with this book! Wike does an exemplary job of surveying much (if not all) of the literature written on Kant's conception of happiness and does so in a way that helps the reader to understand the implications of differing (and dissenting) perspectives on the topic. Put differently, this book is at least (metaphorically speaking) a type of road map to understanding Kant's conception of happiness and it's implication for his moral theory.
