This planner is, by far, the best I've seen. I've been purchasing the Seasons of the Witch planner for the past 3 years and am extremely happy with this edition. Last year's was a big disappointment; there was just too much unnecessary information and it was unappealing to me. The 2007 version contains a beautiful hardcover, sturdy spiral binding, colorful layout and great tarot information. I highly recomend this one; you will not be disappointed!

Last year I had the full page-a-day calendar as I thought I would need all that room, but I found myself with more than I needed, so this year I got myself the Weekly Planner.

Smaller, bag size, easily transported around, the weekly planner comes in the standard format, Moon Day (Monday) through Sun Day. Each day has ample space to write notes, and comes with some important notations regarding astrological times, signs, and, as this is a Tarot Edition, notes for working Tarot Magic.

Each 'week' page spread includes a tarot card pictured from a specific deck. Represented are the Universal Waite Deck, Lo Scarabeo Deck, Templar Tarot and New Century Tarot, to name a few. Each week a specific card is rendered in full color, with a small explanation of the card, what it means and how it can be used in Tarot Magic. Each Day has an association to Tarot Magic as well, such as: June 13th, Moon Day, Borrowing or Lending Money. Some of these may reference another date that has a specific spell or the spell is listed in the day. Specific Tarot Cards may be noted as well as associated candle colors. The week view finishes off with an insert of the current month and the next month. Mercury in Retrograde (occurring three time a year) days are marked in blue. New Moon periods are noted in yellow and Full Moon periods are left colorless.

But what I really, really like about this calendar is that it includes a current 'month at a glance' two page overview for each month, with the weeks between, so you can reference back to the entire month or just the week you need. The month at a glance has small squares to make a quick note, like meeting, where you can then reference the week at a glance for further details. The other popular weekly calendar does not have this feature, and I feel it makes this weekly planner a much more effective tool.

Add to that the fine artwork, the front inserts of the 'Wheel of the Year', total months of the year overview, good instructions for the planners use and layout and a color correspondence chart as well as an interesting 'Tarot Reading list' and the usual personal information listing, and you have a well thought out and put together weekly planner that slips easily into your briefcase, satchel or purse.

This is the one I'm keeping in my briefcase this year and showing off to all my witchy and non-witchy friends. boudica

This is a really nice weekly calendar...

Charming bit of whimsy

A sly fictional account of the good queen's holiday in Jamaica and her improbable adventures there. Lavishly illustrated with whimsical drawings of the black-clad queen kicking up her heels. A delight.

I was intrigued to read an obituary of Routh in the Economist (June 17th, 2008) and wasn't surprised to learn of his reputation as a eternal prankster. He was, it seems, star of the British version of Candid Camera in the UK. In later years he moved to Jamaica and took up painting. The Economist obit described his style thus:

"He painted nuns driving racing cars and flying balloons, the pope windsurfing, Mona Lisa naked or smoking. His favourite subject was the aged Queen Victoria, on an imaginary trip to Jamaica in 1871, doing the hula-hoop or the limbo dance, riding a zebra and driving dodgem cars. He could have found a more prosaic explanation for the missing three months of her reign. But he preferred, as ever, the shock of the absurd, and the sense of the detached voyeur intruding on private space."

Whimsically enchanting!

Endearing illustrations of a tiny, white veiled Queen Victoria cavorting with courtiers the color of midnight accompany a tongue-in-cheek description of a monarch on a risque holiday adventure. This charming picture book is a wonderful addition for anyone who collects memorabilia from Jamaica.

The best book on how to find a real psychic

I first read this book in 1989, and decided to use all the info in this book.... to go on my own search for the five best psychics in the English speaking world. And I found them! If we were across a table, I'd tell you a lot of interesting stories o that happened in my search. But when I saw THIS book pop up on Amazon.....I just had to come on and let everyone know that this book gives the best advice of all. And Get a reading with the Author of this book. She is the best of the best (no kidding). I've been to Sylvia Browne and Kevin Ryerson of Shirley MacLaine fame, and Victoria Weston....I can tell you from ten years of reading transcripts...is the very best on the money - bold predictions that come true - psychic anywhere. I'm not promoting, just telling it like it is, and no book is as good as this book at giving you insight and direction. After all, the fact that some gifted people have this ability is a great gift to all of the world. All you have to do is find the real ones, and begin one of the most interesting adventures of your life.
go for it. nancysteinivey@bellsouth.net

My mom used to read this book of poems to us when we were children, and we always loved it! Sadie Snatt was my personal favorite. I ordered four of these books- one for my children, and one each for my sisters and my mom. It's really funny and the poems made my 4 year old son laugh! (Warning- be selective about reading to young children)Buy it!!

I love this book. I read it as a child and have adored it ever since. People have described me as "macabre" and "twisted" with a cynical sense of humor but I don't think that's the case here. This book is witty and hysterical. Grown-ups deserve to have "childish fun" without actually having to read children's books. While a child certainly could read this book, adults can appreciate it even more! All you adults who want to have fun, Read this book! It is a laugh RIOT!

This book saved my life

I know saying it saved my life sounds dramatic, but for those of us who have been "single again" we know that we need all the help we can get! And this book is the tops. All the things you go through when your husband or partner leaves you is so overwhelming and the stories of the women who experienced the same things within this book just helped me see that I really wasnt alone. That somehow I would heal, and become whole again, at a time when I wasnt sure if I ever would be....also I would go back and read certain passages I had marked when I re-experienced certain emotions or problems just for comfort. It was like my "breakup bible" and it got me through a really terrible and lonely time. Get it! Its a gem. And it applies to women of any age, too.

An invaluable guide for women who are starting over.

I wish I had this book 2 years ago, when I unexpecedly became a widow at age 46. The information in this book could have saved me much of the anxiety that I experienced in not knowing how, or from whom to get the direction that I needed. I was amazed to see how thorough Victoria Jaycox was. Her book deals with many, if not all of the same issues of starting over, that I was faced with. From grieving, supporting myself, moving, attaining legal and financial help, even up to starting a new relationship, Victoria covers it all. The commentary of the women who contributed their stories reinforces the message that we can get through this difficult time in our lives, and in many instances, emerge with new strength, and the courage to create happy fulfilling new futures for ourselves. Thank you Victoria!

Victoria Holt once again sweeps her readers into the life of another heroine, Davina. Through the audio version it almost sounds as if Davina might be telling you her story yourself. She is suspected of murder in Scotland but it can't be proven so she goes to South Africa to escape gossip but the nightmare continues there until in the end everything turns out all right and she ends up with the man of her dreams.

The story takes place in post-Victorian Edinburgh. A bankers daughter begins (too late) to notice all is not perfect in her perfect household. Her mother dies. Her governess is let go under mysterious circumstances. And a bawdy new governess moves in to take her friend and her mothers place---and all other things. Her father is discovered dead from arsenic poisoning---and she is accused of murdering him. I was surprised at the end---I felt sure I knew who had killed the girls father----but I'm not good at guessing, I guess.
The characters are pretty well thought out---theres a voyage to South Africa and the terrain is detailed. But the most standout of this book is the main characters illusions that the perfect way of life can go on uninterrupted. She certainly left one snare of serpents for another, too. Very well written and interesting.

Soulful Sex is an unusual and heart-opening book. The author is a psychologist and sex therapist who uses stories from her practice to show us how we can become more joyful and passionate about sex. She explains what every man should know if he wants an eager, exciting partner!

The best book on Loving Sex

The best book on sexual lovemaking in a commited intimate love relationship. Easily beats out great books like John Gray's Mars and Venus in the Bedroom, or Charles and Caroline Muir's Tantra: The Art of Concious Loving. Adds a depth of wisdom, spirituality, practicality, and insight into men and women's sexual needs and their loving satisfaction that is missing from other books on sex. Its an easy to read book that has a lot of practical real life examples on how couples can better communicate and act to solve common sexual problems and use sacred sex to build a passionate, intimate, love relationship.

On Earth as it is in Heaven
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2006-12-21
A theme in my studying this year has been, "How do we bring the Kingdom of Heaven to Earth?" Speaking of Faith is a testimony to how our lives do make a difference, here, now, expressing all that God has intented. Reading each person's journey motivates and strengthens my conviction to Bee-Courageous, Bee-Hold Your Purpose (from Barbara Dwyer's chapter). Reading Rev. Desiree Carter's story affirmed that Love, Faith, Believing, culminate into a wonderfully purposeful life right here on Earth. The stories continue and you can pick one a day, or sit down and take it in all at once. I'm using it as part of my devotional time and each day is a new insight as to how "on Earth as it is in Heaven" is being accomplished. I'm grateful to all who contributed to this wonderful book. Bless you.

Many people struggle to find a way to integrate their faith in their daily lives. Many of those same people even question if it is possible to live their faith in today's world. They also question the purpose of their life, why they're here and what, if anything, can one person do to affect mankind for the better.

To help people find the answers to these questions, David E. Wright, president of the International Speakers Network, conducted interviews with fourteen outstanding leaders of different faiths. From Jana Alcorn, a humanitarian and founder of Dream Builders Network and Hayley's House, an organization that cares for orphaned and abandoned children in Tanzania to Lonna Vopat, the founder of In His Grace Ministries and host of television talk show, Between Friends, each person answers probing questions about their faith, the trials and triumphs in their lives and how their deeply held faith helped them endure both the failures and the triumphs.

The following are short summaries of some of the interviews.

Nita Scoggan, who held weekly prayer sessions in the White House from 1984 through 1998, relates tales of redemption after cutting up and burning a kitchen witch at a friend's house and exorcising demons from a young woman who was both a witch and a vampire.

Victoria McArthur talks about growing up in a strict Baptist family with a mother who, unknown to anyone, was bipolar and suffered from schizophrenia. Victoria was not allowed to show any emotion in front of her parents, nor did she experience any of the small wonderful everyday things such as being tucked up in bed at night with a kiss. Pushed into a marriage at seventeen, Victoria soon divorced her first husband and continued on with her life.

Dave Dravecky, former major-league pitcher for the San Francisco Giants, talks about the cancer that ended his career when his arm had to be amputated to save his life and how his faith got him through this tough time. His faith was so inspiring to people facing similar and even worse changes in their lives that he founded the organization Outreach of Hope in 1991 that offers faith and encouragement to people battling cancer and other illnesses and even people who just need someone to talk to and, with God's help, give them the strength and courage to continue on their life's path.

"Speaking of Faith" is a wonderful book; you can feel each person's commitment to God on every page.
