This book lives up to its description. It is an excellent book that is well written, easy to follow, and provides real-world examples. I gained a great deal of insight from reading this book and use it as a bible in helping my company perform process improvement, increase performance, and prepare for CMMI appraisals.

This is the best book I've read in the CodeNotes series and a superb introduction to ASP.NET. The CodeNote authors have really mastered their craft by now and it shows with this book. All major aspects of ASP.NET are covered including security, caching, web forms, and session storage. What is most impressive about this book is how well written it is, which makes it easy to digest all the new technical topics. I wouldn't recommend this book as a reference, but as a starter guide I can't imagine a quicker way to ramp up on the technology.

Indexes => Faster access to large SAS datasets

This is about 300 page paperback 9" x 7.5" book.
I would say the title is not too far of an exaggeration
when it uses the phrase "Complete Guide...".
It describes all the techniques to create indexes for
SAS data sets (in a data step, in proc sql, in proc datasets),
and gives lots of (short/useful) code examples.
It describes how to create & use both "simple" and "composite"
indexes, and tells you in very straightforward language when
you might want to use each of them.
And for the more esoteric/hardcore reader, it even goes into
how the indexes are actually implemented (as b-trees) under
the covers (this would be optional-reading for most users :)
If you use large SAS data sets, and your queries take
long enough that you find your self "waiting" on them,
then you could probably benefit from adding Indexes to
your large SAS data sets (tables). This book will be a
big benefit to you.
I've been a sas programmer for about 15 years, and this
book taught me several index tricks I didn't know - no
doubt, there's something here for everyone (no matter
what their level of SAS expertise)!

Great graphics book for Pascal

I don't often review books, but this sleeper needs a good review.
Most of the books on graphics for "Pascal" feature a particular
implementation of Pascal. This is a book that features
non-implementation specific examples. Starting with a simple get
and set pixel routines, the author explains how all the higher
level functions are performed, with real code examples. He then
gives several chapters of real world systems that these principles can be used on.

Formerly I have been using C graphics books and translating the
code to Pascal for use. Other Pascal graphics books are simply
cookbooks for a particular implementation.

This Book is a very simplified explanation of the problem. It had me moving with good materials and refrences to create awareness at our company. The examples are clear and to the point. When our company initiated the project, the reading of this book was the first assignment for each team member. Eventually, it moved every one and it was a success.

This book separates the key events in history from all the noise and hype. After Fred Brooks book The Mythical Man-Month, this is the best brief survey of the subject from one who helped to create it.
