I can not say enough good things about this book! I read all about interview techniques, reviewed some of the questions that are generally asked during teaching interviews, and different types of interviewers (such as the super salesman, the resume reader)before I went to my first interviews at a teacher job fair. I found that I was so ready for the questions and types of interviewers. Many of my friends at the job fair were caught off guard by the way the education profession interviews. While their interviews lasted only 10 or 15 minutes, many of my interviews lasted nearly a half hour. The book is full of tips on how to present yourself, where to look, how to look for a teaching job, varied approaches to interviewing, and all the processes that are involved, such as, screening interviews, in-depth interviews, and the several person interview. There is a wealth of information in this book for anyone looking for a teaching job!

As an employment professional and internet novice, I found this book both comprehensive and easy to understand. It offers a thorough education in how to make the internet work for you in your job search by taking the reader through step-by-step instructions on everything from posting resumes on-line to wading through the many search engines to find job postings. One of the most interesting lessons I learned was the vast difference between developing a resume to be seen in hard copy and developing a resume to post on the internet and be sent through email. I successfully used what I learned from this book in my own recent job search, and have since recommended it to all job seekers I work with. A side note, I am not the most sophisticated computer-user. Nevertheless, this book is so well done that I found it neither confusing nor intimidating. The information is presented clearly, logically, simply, but in great and thorough detail. It's worth searching for a copy and I hope it will be reprinted soon.

Consider The Pro's & Con's Of A Home Business Today!

The authors have written this book to address the concerns many have about setting up a business at home. Geared better, in my opinion, towards professional people who have already experienced life in the office work force, this book will allow them to assess themselves to determine if working at home is right for them. The authors point out that serious personal commitment and preparation is required to succeed with a home business. A number of factors including family members, personal habits, one's personality, and inventory of skills must be taken into account. Ongoing education, keeping informed on the home business issues, and taking an active stance about working at home all contribute to the success of this growing work force. The authors provide a number of checklists and worksheets for their readers to fill in to help them chart the course for meeting start-up business requirements and to achieve realistic business goals. They also offer readers brief but insightful information about some of the more popular and profitable home businesses they can start. Not stopping here, they also advise their readers to anticipate changes within present occupations and encourage them to adapt to new employment opportunties that will arise on the scene. The book offers a broad spectrum of information on topics such as advertising, pricing, insurance, licensing, zoning issues, copyrights and patents, food product concerns, product liability, subcontracting, selling, and the role of computer use for the home business. Extensive listings at the back of the book provide resource information about other books, newsletters, and organizations that can be of help to new home businesses! This is a great book for members of the online community who are considering starting a business at home. It will challenge them to totally think through what is involved. With serious attention to details, personal preparation, and a good computer system just about anyone will be able to setup an online business. Consider the pro's and con's of a home business today. This book will help you do this!

The longer you keep doing the same thing, the more harm you are doing to yourself. Learn preventive techniques and correct the ergonomic problems in your workspace so you can use your computer without pain.

Even if your educational background is in labor law, this book is vital for understanding the complex procedures of the National Labor Relations Board. Practicing before the NLRB is a very unique experience and you will quickly find the agency has its own way of doing things. I am a lawyer and I use this book every single time I represent a client in any kind of NLRB proceeding. It's expensive, but well worth every penny (besides, it's tax-deductible as a business expense).
