This is an excellent book. The author has done a great job in pulling together the elements which spell success in the quest for employment. I recommend it.

It may be getting a bit old around the edges, but "American Jobs Abroad" is one of the best directories of American employers worldwide ever published. While many of the addresses, phones, and company names may have changed, this directory still gives you a really good idea of what each one does, the types of people each hires, how to apply, and -- perhaps most important -- keen insightts on all facets of the intternational job search and the practical aspects of living abroad. Originally $.., it's a steal at Amazon.com's price!

It was a rough day at the bookstore, on that August day in 1993. I had... burning a hole in my pocket, enough for one read, and I was having trouble making a choice.

On the one hand, I held "Portnoy's Complaint." Critically acclaimed, but likely to be puerile in view of my hoi polloi tastes. (A subsequent trip to the library proved me correct on this point!)

On the other hand, I held this little-known gem, "The American labor movement : hearing before the Subcommittee on Employment and Productivity of the Committee on Labor and Human Resources, United States Senate, One Hundred Second Congress, second session, on examining a fundamental change in society that... progress and opportunity in our nation--the decline of labor union membership, December 9, 1992." I took a cursory glance through the pages, and I was hooked INSTANTLY. Think Oliver Twist, late 20th century. Yes its that good!

I made the choice and I have never looked back. Are you as bold as I? Can you do it? Used as textbook for class on ADA. The articles were relevant and timely. Good book.

I USE THIS BOOK FOR MY TRADE AS AN ADA CONSULTANT AND HAVE FOUND THIS BOOK TO BE THE BEST RESOURSE THAT I COULD HAVE. THE MAIN OBJECTION IN ADA COMPLIANCE IS NOT ONLY TO CONDUCT A COMPLETE SURVEY BUT ALSO TO UNDERSTAND THE INTENT BEHIND THE LAW, THIS BOOK DOES AN EXCELLENT JOB OF RELAYING THE INTENT. I RECOMMAND THIS BOOK TO ANYONE WHO IS INVOLVED IN MAKING A BUILDING ACCESSIBLE TO THE DISABLED PUBLIC.

I never thought I would read a fictional accounting of the first 85 days of WWII in the Pacific that had more truth and information than actual history books have. I was greatly surprised and pleased by what I discovered between the covers of "Another Six-Hundred". WWII Navel Veteran and author J. Paul Mullin treats the reader to a "fictional" chronicle of surface naval warfare that paints a picture for the reader of what it was really like.

The events and ships and circumstances are clearly non-fiction but the author is able to weave in a story with characters and side plots that he makes the telling of history both informative as well as entertaining. The details and data supplied in the book will make it a great resource for historians to use for future books. Truly a treasure chest of facts!

The book was originally published in 1984 and lacks some of the gloss and shine of today's formats but the reader will find it well worth exploring. I fully recommend this tome of WWII Naval Warfare for all history buffs.

The audience includes any young girl or woman who has scanned bookshelves everywhere searching for exemplary women who resisted the social biases of school marms, sorority sisters, AND librarians trying to protect aspiring females from the challenges of personal achievement. Ferguson and Dunphy are demonstrating to women HOW TO praise, admire, respect and honor OTHER women of achievement. Until women are willing to praise great women, to learn from the successful and accomplished women, we will not be able to "see further... by standing on the shoulders of giants." This book is a bible for Canadian professions. Anybody looking for a job in Canada and want to know what exactly is the job requirements in his or her field and what should be in the resume to be considered for interview.

A must read for leaders and managers in the nonprofit sector. The book paints a picture of the lives of six people who found success in nonprofits. I read the book in 1 week because I cound not put it down.

The book is available now. It helped me gain a better understanding of organizational systems and corporate culture from the Asian Pacific American viewpoint. The case studies were amusing and enjoyable, thus helping to guide me through the theoretical concepts that would of been other wise too overwhelming. The discussion questions and exercises were also very useful.
