Gilman's book and her ideas on the role of women in the struggles of all humans for equality and liberty are as relevant in the 21st century as they were in the 19th. The book should be on the reference shelf of every policy maker and used as a basic book on government and political science. Her personal struggles are shared by many women and men who face the devastating effects of inequality and the abuse of liberty by others who seek the "four creatures of greed and power: fame, fortune, lust, and luxury". Gilman's message is that women (and men) should be careful to not copy the behavior of other men and other women who have sought these "four creatures".

Gilman shows the reader she is going with men in the workplace , but wants to show women are just as hard or harder workers at home than the men outside of the house. She wants to show how men think women are weaklings and she shows them wrong with her strong words against the put down of a man.

Bobroff-Hajal's well-researched study examines industrial workers in the central industrial region of Russia at the time of the 1917 revolutions. She discusses women's roles in food riots, street fighting, and political organizations, posing the issue of why so much activism was ultimately ineffective and why these Russian women were unable to form continuing organizations to better their lives. The explanation is somewhat repetitive: women were socialized through rituals and folklore to be tied to husbands and children rather than to each other, thus inhibiting any tendencies toward a natural interest group. More interesting, however, are the author's descriptions of working-class family and gender patterns, including childhood socialization, adolescence, courtship and wedding ritual, and communal living arrangements, which paradoxically managed to reinforce separation of nuclear families. Bobroff-Hajal uses fascinating folkloric, newspaper, memoir, and oral history sources not available in English to paint a vivid picture of the lives of these Russian women. This books is great. I am so glad that a friend left it in my car and said you should read this!!!. I am happy that i did. It is really a great book, if you like to kind of get some answers, some more deeper and complicated explanations on to why thigs happen in a certain ways or even what they are and they unfold. The book definatly makes you think about whats going on in your wold as you read the book, it is something that you can definatly relate to and learn!!!

Ed DeJesus's book is arguably the best guide for young people today who want to be successful. Written in a reader-friendly style, the book has several worksheets that make it a resource. A must read for anyone who deals with young people.

I would recommend this book for all young adults who are ready for graduation from High School. It's informative and provides pages of resources that is not always available.

Because of the long lead times in book publishing, by the time this book went to press, the dot-com bust was happening, however much of the information in this book is still very relevant and applicable.

When I was asked to contribute, I was already predicting that there would be sweeping changes within the high-tech industry and choose my contributions accordingly, focusing on ERP, cross-platform databases and Internet security samples as areas that would continue to be relevant beyond the dot-com boom.

The advice given by Jay and Michael as well as all of my colleagues' samples in this book are highly polished and continue to be relevant models for any individual pursuing a career in high-tech, in my opinion.
