CAD and CAM Books

Don't buy this book, it's for ver 7.5 I like how no where in the review of this book does it ever state what version of softdesk it relates to. After I purchased and looked at the back cover did I discover it was for version 7.5. It still works for version 8, but you have to change some of the settings and the pull-downs are a little different. It would be nice if the publisher could update the description.

I-Deas is the best program out there for drafting. I recomand that any one who can, to learn it by any means posible!

Gives an excellent view of the state of the art in behavioral synthesis. At DAC, I saw many folks from companies that sell behavioral synthesis tools buying this book. The book is very useful for anyone designing beh synthesis tools and talks about a parallelizing compiler way of doing things.

"Even the nails are line drawn into these details." While it may not "exactly" match your particular building situation (no dimensions), the details are preformatted on letter size title blocks. If you do cad for residential/light office designs, this is the book to get. There are even combinations of wood on steel posts and steel beams with various roofing, foundation, and beam on post applications. Structural details are the most teadious to do in cad for engineers, which makes having these available so vital to your cad reference library. BUY IT - YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

I did a lot of internet research, and even checked this book out from my local library, before I made my choice. I am a Master Electrician, and I needed a detailed electrical reference book for my own library. Since electronics is a part of electricity, and has a growing impact on the electrical trade, I wanted a book that combined the two. There are a lot out there. Many are overly long and detailed, others are too simplistic or youth-oriented, and some are outdated. This book was perfect. Although it is also intended for classroom use, with review questions and experiments, this wasn't something I needed. These portions are limited though, and don't detract from the book as a whole. Buy it!!

I loved this book. I loved it so much I stole it from our lead software engineer. He has no idea where it is, and there is no way I am ever giving it back. HA! TAKE THAT!

It has been a great help to me regarding substrate noise analysis. Very well explained and detailed.

This is sure to be the best book in your reference collection. As a former student of John Beaumont's, I have learned a tremendous amount about the plastics industry from that book.

I found this book very helpful to review and understand the different techniques used to design and apply the algorithms needed to develop the model of a process to be controlled. It uses Matlab and Simulink as tools to reproduce examples on the text, but the authors also encourage the readers to use whichever tools they are more comfortable with.

The fact that the book focuses more in the model development process, different models structures, tuning and synthesis, rather than in the underlying theory was very appealing to me.

As an aid, in the appendices the following material is reviewed:
- Laplace transforms and blocks diagrams.
- Frecuency response methods.
- Linear least square regression.
- Probability theory and random variables.
- Matlab and Simulink software.

I am an Industrial Practitioner of Process Measurement & Control. I work in the Oil and Gas Industry as an Instrumentation, Automation and Process Control Engineer. My academic background is in electrical and electronics engineering, not in chemical engineering as might be the case of the usual reader of this book, but I have been working in the process industries for about 16 years, so I have been dealing with Chemical-Process Control issues in a day-to-day basics. I found this book to be a very useful reference to gain a better understanding of Model-Based Control Applications.
