CAD and CAM Books

Hi, I'm Randall Newton, and I wrote two editions of "Inside Generic CADD" for New Riders Publishing. This listing is bogus; I never did an edtion with the second author listed... heck, I don't even know who he is! If you need a copy of Inside Generic CADD (and it amazes me how many people are STILL using Generic CADD after all these years), then look at the other listings. The people selling used copies are obviously confused; they should list their copies with the REAL versions of the book.

As a researcher in the design-manufacturing integration field, I found this book pretty helpful to learn about past research. This book is written by many experts. Though the progress of research in the design and manufacturing`s field is pretty fast, I think this book will survive as a good reference book for students and researchers.

Awesome book. Great for all interior design students. Great for your library. Makes learning how to do models, etc., much easier than trying to learn from your instructor's brief instructions.

This Multimedia Training CD-ROM (which was featured in Cadence Mag.)is the best on the market. I was able to teach my self AutoCAD in 3 days with the tool. AutoDesk has its own multimedia training CD but after comparing the two the Cadd Desktop Tutor contains a hundred times more content. If you want to be an Engineer, Designer or Architect this training tool should be a requirement.

A good introduction to using the I-DEAS FEA module. The author have done a good job covering the fundamentals of using the rod-elements, beam-elements, plane-stress elements and solid elements. Easy to follow and well organized.

I read this book in Spanish but was delighted to see an English version so I could share it with my friends. I will never again be able to look at a map, see the tiny speck of Clipperton and not recall this horrific and amazing story. Laura Restrepo did an outstanding job of giving us the facts and filling in the details. Her prose is smooth and she managed to keep me on the edge of my chair even though I knew the outcome. Highly recommended.

By far the best book I've ever read on large-Scale non-linear optimization. A must read for math fans.

I am usually a little concerned about edited books. Often they are not coherant. So, I was reluctant to buy this book. But given the topic and some well knownn authors I decided to give it a try. The material is not only cohesive, but also very educational, especially for someone who is new to this area. Right from the introductory material of the first chapter to the detailed methods covered makes this an excellent book for someone who wants to learn about leakage. I foun d the case studies very useful as well.

I would like to say that this is a very good book and one of the best of those books that I have studied for Autodesk Inventor. It covers basic and advanced steps in modeling. Also I like their approach "Process-Based", this tells that this book does not explains only features of Autodesk Inventor but also tells in details the process to create parts and assemblies. Definitely this is my preferred book for Autodesk Inventor and I would suggest to anyone that is new to Autodesk Inventor because it is very easy to understand. In this book I found explanation for a lot of questions, and I specially loved their Professional Tips.
