AutoCAD Books

This is a great book. I am an engineer who has since gone into another profession in which clear and concise writing plays an important role. My drafting experience is from pre-CAD days and included 8 years of intermittent drafting to implement my own work. I have a current need to create architectural drawings for a large personal project for use by an architectural firm and have retained and purchased Autocad so that we could "speak the same language". I looked at a number of books to help educate me in this new field and purchased some of them. A number of these books deal with the nuts and bolts of the Autocad language, which I am now comfortable with. None of these books, however, have provided a usable and straightforward framework to help me implement the powers of Autocad to create architectural drawings. James Snyder's book does this, and it is by far the best I have used or looked at for this purpose. It is clearly written, the examples are helpful and goal oriented, and as a whole his book communicates the necessary elements of architectural drafting in an enlightening manner.

This is another good work by Tickoo. He has written books that help us learn drafting tools easily. I like his method of writing. This book has more of a theory compared to his other books on proe and inventor. But this book also has good examples that cannot be found elsewhere.

I have had a chance to review a number of the exercises in this publication and I am quite satisfied with the presentation of the material. As an instructor for AutoCAD (still in AutoCAD R12 for DOS) and having completed a course of training in AutoCAD R14, I found that this book was indeed very helpful in my ttransition to R14.In order to further benefit from the exercises, I will like to obtain a copy of the files used in the book. Upon purchasing the book, I was told by the bookstore salesperson that there is a CD-ROM that should contain these files. Please advise.

This is an amazing product! I bought it because I needed training in AutoCAD 3D and in VIZ. Both products are on a single CD which never leaves my drive now. First I used it for training, now I use I use it for reference. MUCH better than the manuals. This company's technical support is good too. Very friendly and supportive.

I have recently adopted this text for my courses and would recommend it without hesitation. I simply haven't seen any cd-based training tutorials or books on this or similar topics that are as comprehensive in material coverage that are also as logically formatted and as easy to use. This training package is a winner.

Wow! This is really complete. It covers commands for drawing and editing, as well as plotting, 3D and customziing menus. Real drawings too - not boxes and circles and lines. I highly recommend this CD for new AutoCAD users.

As title suggestes this book is a complete reference. It explaines the things well. Gives a comprehensive coverage including examples. Good for beginners as well as advanced users. You want regret buying this book.

This book really opened up my eyes in terms of what you can do with 3D Modeling. After using AutoCAD for 2D drafting for years, I now realize all that I have been missing. The exercises really helped me understand new concepts and made learning 3D fun. Highly recommended.

Out of all the AutoCAD Courseware manuals that I have evaluated, this manual is by far one of the best. The book has an easy to read and understand format. It is definately one of the most user-friendly manuals I have ever used to assist me in teaching and learning AutoCAD.

Every time I need a manual for my training classes I use these guys and I am never disappointed. Hooray for JERSEY!
