I read this book my little girl every now & then she love's it her name is Laura ..And yes I'm going to try to get my little girls school to order this book..

I highly recommend this set for an in-depth look at what is truly the foundation of our country. Christian men with vision, Godly character and education, reveal the truths of our Constitution, our system of government, and the true source of all legitimate authority in this (or any other) nation. Real law cannot be based on the passing whims of men, but must be based on the ever solid Word of Almighty God, because God is the source of real law and real authority. Anything short of this comes only from man's passing fancy of right and wrong and puts us on the highway to tyranny. Find out how America is truly a Christian nation - not because the majority of our citizens claim Christianity - but because our whole system of law and government was built on God's law and God's authority. Oh by the way, these principles were not dreamed up in 1776, but were the result of centuries of God working providentially in the lives of His people to bring them to the place to form this country.

If you are at all interested in where we came from as a nation and where we are going, you need this set. I am not a real legal/political kind of guy but I am moved by the legitimacy of going back and taking a common sense look at the great documents of our history and see what they meant and how they have been ignored for years to get us into the mess we're in today.

While not questioning the accepted view that serial killers are demented, Milligen is interested particularly in the origins of the image of serial killers and the reasons for its persistence despite considerable evidence that it is not accurate. Thus the content is basically on media studies, political agendas, and creation of the image of politicians and law-enforcement organizations, notably the FBI. Right-wing politicians, especially, have made use of the fear of crime, including serial killers, for election gains; and the FBI going back to the era of J. Edgar Hoover has publicized its attention to serial killers by creating a "profile" and frequent news reports on its leads in trying to solve cases. According to FBI and other widely publicized law-enforcement "profiles," serial killers are brilliantly cunning and commit their crimes over a large geographical area. But as Milligen proffers, while some serial killers (e. g., Ted Bundy) are exceptionally intelligent and do commit their crimes in far-flung places, many have low IQs and commit their crimes in local areas, as evidenced in those cases where numerous bodies are uncovered in a killer's backyard. But attributing high intelligence to a serial killer and assuming that his or in rare instances, her crimes are committed over a vast and unpredictable area explains why law-enforcement authorities cannot seem to catch a serial killer or prevent such a high number of wanton killings. This is an absorbing mix of true crime, sociology, and media studies. Many will find it especially captivating considering the current interest in and controversy over horror films and other images of and actual acts of violence in the culture.

This multi-volume "journal" of a spiritual awakening, maturation and liberation is truly inspiring to read. Even if one would not necessarily attempt to "repeat" Swami Ramdas's travels across India, the lessons of the pilgrimage are available to everyone. It's a breath of fresh air.

This is the best book I read in 2006. Some times small books can change your life in a big way. In all of Ched's writing he combines articulate biblical scholarship and the passion that comes from years of lived out radical discipleship. The concept of Sabbath Economics is now so clear to me, that anytime I read the scriptures I am constantly reminded of God's concern for the poor and the way the Christian community is called to play a vital role in wealth redistribution.

I could not help but wonder if i was following in the way of Jesus or the Rich Young Ruler after my first introduction to the powerful work of Ched Myers on the notion of a sabbath economy.

This collection of previously published essays (in The Other Side, Sojourners, et al) captures a biblical vision of economic justice that is challenging and rewarding, and that keeps me considering how my pratice of the Christian faith relates to my participation in our capitalist economy. In reading this work, I realize how alienated i am from the production of the goods i consume, how addicted i am to these goods, and how anxious i am about how i will be able to consume more and more of them.

Despite these inner struggles and their profound social implications, I am learning to strive for economic justice as Ched suggests. I am learning to participate in the sabbath economy and not just the economy of this nation, of this world. Through discussions of manna and mammon, ranging from the teachings of Torah through Jesus to Paul and beyond, this brief text invites me to celebrate in the reality of an economy of grace. This text is not about socialism, utopianism, idealism, but the pure and simple gospel that not even the church that calls on Jesus' name seems to comprehend.

I encourage you to read this text and join in a movement of liberation.

Readers will gain some insight into the Objibway language and perspective - and they will see in a very powerful way that people allover the world should learn more about each other.

Linda and Dale Fehl were unique, and their ministry blessed countless numbers of people, myself included. I would recommend their ministry materials to anyone needing a healing touch from the Lord.
