I found Parnell's A Therapist Guide to EMDR so accessible and comprehensive, it was a pleasure to read. It is a great review for anyone who has just taken the courses or who wants to review and update their skills in EMDR. I loved the way she presented a technique and then often followed it up with very specific how-to case examples. I could clearly see Parnell's exceptional skillfulness and respectful caring for each of her clients' processes.
I also just find it helpful as a practical resource handbook to check up on a particular technique and read about the different aspects of it. Its a must have for EMDR therapists!

This book has been a god send for me. There are many unique techniques in this book that have been very useful. I recommend this book espically for the beginner but also for the experienced therapist who wants to expand their horizons.

Collaboratively compiled and written by Barbara A. Cleary and Sally J. Duncan, Thinking Tools For Kids is an impressively accessible educational resource written especially for educators working with grade school kids. Thinking Tools For Kinds presents a compendium of stories depicting real-life problems, and mental tools that can be used logically solve the problems, as well as illustrations by Linda P. Kretzler, glossary aids, a "home connection" for applying what has been learned to problems at home, and a great deal more. Removable exercises that teachers have blanket permission to copy and distribute to students enhance this quality instructional reference and resource book.

This book is an absolute delight; the stories (I particularly enjoyed the fun story about Michael and his ancestry and the story about Charlie and Emma) are well told and perfectly introduce each thinking tool. My fourth-graders will undoubtedly enjoy this text. Thank you, Barbara Cleary, Sandy Duncan, and Linda Kretzler, for a wonderful resource!

After I read this book, I recognized it had information that I could pass on to my children. They wait to ask me for advise until the situation is critical, so, I waited.
It wasn't too long before one of them had stress beyond their desire and mom was called for support. I explained how this book helped me find my own answers and I believed that it would give them "tools" to find their own answers. If everytime my children or my friends for that matter, decide to ask me what to do, I realize that I do not help them by giving them an answer that would work for me. Maybe they should find an answer that is unique for them.

This is the best book I have ever found to help individuals answer their own questions about their inner-self as well as relationships we have. It provides the tools in such an easy to do relaxing manner - anyone can do it - everyone has this opportunity.

Growing up, I always believed in the existence of spirits and guiding forces. Knowing the author personally, I can tell you that everything she writes is true. I have never known her to be dishonest or misleading. Not until now, though, have I been able to understand her remarkable gift. If you choose to read this book, as I recommend anyone to do, please read without prejudice. Keep an open mind, and you will see that there are truly very special people out there. Especially a lady in Gulfport who I am blessed to be able to say IS my other mother.

I've always wondered why various "feelings", either of forboding or of anticipation occurs at certain points in one's life.
For instance, one time while driving home one night, I felt a strong 3 taps on the back of my right shoulder that really had me thinking if someone was in the back seat. I ignored the occurrence but continued on about one quarter mile to the nearest store. When I arrived, I immediately exited the car. Expecting to find an friend playing some prank, there was no one there. Suddenly I felt the familiar tingle on the back of my neck and proceeded home.
I'd say that within one tenth of mile in front of me, pick-up truck followed by a police cruiser appeared from a side street; thankfully going away from me.
This is one example of "odd" happenings that I have witnessed in my lifetime and always have wondered, WHY?
Since I have found this book, I've discovered explanations of how God sends angels to help in times of need. The author tells the story of her discovery of her gift from her childhood to present day, and how our Lord has guided her to help solve problems incuding murders- The latter being from the victims themselves giving her the clues through "clairaudience."
I rate this book high because it helps all of us to understand the "gift" we all share, and how to use it.

I rec'd this book as part of a 5-day course that I took for my job in new product development. The book and course are excellent. They make the problem solving process understandable by giving you a common language and set of tools. The book/course also gives you criteria to select what tools to use for the outcome that you need. The book/course provides templates for doing various types of generating activities and various types of focusing activities depending on whether you need an adaptive or innovative solution. It was definitely one of the best creativity/problem solving sessions I've ever taken part in.

This well written book is an invaluable resource for me. I would recommend it to anyone interested in quality learning.

This step-by-step introduction of concrete strategies to enhance learning is based on sound theory. The stories themselves are what make the book come alive, however.

TOOLS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT: A PRACTICAL INTRODUCTION AND GUIDE is a recommended college-level pick for any collection strong in environmental issues or environmental management. It provides a review of the Environmental Management Systems as a whole, surveying over twenty linked tools ranging from product and technology assessment and economics to purchasing guidelines and human factors. While billed as a 'primer', it's anything but an easy introduction: college-level audiences already involved in environmental management courses will find it a weighty but invaluable survey.

This is the first book that I have seen to compile a practical toolkit for managers who are working to improve environmental management and sustainability of their operations. It is presented as 'work in progress', is very comprehensive in its identification and coverage, with a set of 22 linked tools. It is designed for reference rather than to be read as a book, and fills a very important gap in the management literature.
The 22 linked tools are in various stages of development and the authors cover both how available tools should be used and what remains to be developed. For example the chapter on environmental indicators covers both the current state of the art and a frank discussion of current problems.
A notable feature of the book is the quality of the listing of further reading and available Internet sites at the end of each chapter. My only regret is that the authors have not provided a complementary website with at least those references listed.

This small book, in a flipchart format, provides 33 strategies for teachers to use to improve students' content area reading. Directions are succint and clear. The strategies listed are invaluable in helping the teacher create varied activities geared towards improving students' reading comprehension. I use this flipchart every week when preparing my lessons.

This is a flip book style book with literacy activities briefly explained and color coded/grouped into before/during/after activities. The back of this book has some blackline masters. This is a BARGAIN! Buy this if you want to mix up some reading activities in your content area classroom.
