This is, in a way, an exploitation book. The tagline on the cover says "20 ways to Reach More Customers and Build Revenue with Google Business Tools". It's a little bit of a stretch to include Google Apps, a set of online business applications, in this rubric, but author Greg Holden pulls it off convincingly by comparing the utility and cost of Google Apps with its Microsoft counterparts.

Where you might expect simply a rehash of Google's own extensive help files, it is apparent that Holden has put considerable effort into actually learning the various tools that Google makes available.

For example, he adds insights that an unsophisticated user might not pick up on, such as adding Google Talk to your own website to allow direct live interaction with your own customers and prospects. This might be old hat to experienced web marketers, but not to neophytes.

Holden covers a remarkably broad range as do the Google tools he covers. For each of Google's services, Holden provides a detailed description and lots of hints and tips.

Overall, this is a surprisingly informative book. Those not familiar with Google will find it helpful as an introduction to all of Google's services.

I originally bought this collection of Goal Setting Forms for my children, but quickly found myself making fast work of it for my own personal needs.

What you receive is a collection (multiple) of different forms, each with it's own purpose, and all designed to help you identify, plan, and post your goals for easy review and reinforcement. I highly recommend it for anyone of any age.

I have bought several of the books from The GoalsGuy series and was looking for tools that would help me to set my goals, not just keep them in my head. This collection is worth every penny and I highly recommend it. They are several types, each of which are helpful.

How to Survive Parenthood

If your family is like ours, something is going on all of the time. Needless to say, it keeps a parent on their toes.

We have read a number of parenting books, including those which focus on behavior management throught conseqences.

Not to say that these books are without value. They do help. This book takes things to the next level.

If you want your children to learn important life values, then this is the book for you. The authors provide helpful suggestions on how to blend values with discipline in raising your children. The goal is to build a family with a sense of closeness as well as order.

Admittedly, it has taken a little time to adapt this new approach. My wife and I were raised differently and it takes time to develop new habits. I must say however, that we have started to see some positive changes in our household since incorporating the approaches mentioned in this book.

If you consider yourself a parent with "more to learn" then this book should be a consideration in your library of resource materials.

Truly a practical tool for effective parenting !

I bought this book so that I would be able to purchase tools as gifts for my husband without having to ask him what to buy. I figured that would spoil any surprises. I know next to nothing about what to look for when purchasing tools, so this book has been an invaluable reference for me. It has definitely helped me make smart purchases and saved me money because the author does an excellent job of explaining the pros and cons of different tool choices. He also discusses and what to look for when selecting particular tools, so you know exactly what you want befor you make any purchases. I highly recommend this book.

The last word on multi-blade folding knives

Review Date: 2000-05-03
The names of the authors (Shadley and Davis) would be instantly recognizable to knife collectors as the recognized masters of the multi-blade pocket knife, perhaps the most challenging project for beginning knifemakers. As far as I know, this is the only book in print that addresses multi-blade knifemaking directly, and thus am pleased to find that it turned out to be a great buy.

This book describes in detail the whole process of design, construction, and finishing these mechanical marvels. The text is precise, complete, and most importantly for the non-enthusiast, refreshingly readable (light on knife jargon). Illustrated with clear diagrams and pictures on every important step and generously endowed with hints and expert advice from the authors, this book is a classic on this specialized topic. If you have any interest in pocket knives or have ever wondered just how much craftsmanship goes into making one of these knives by hand, you'll be glad you bought this book.

A really usefull guide.

If you was ever intrigued by the multi-bladed folding knives, and wanted to know how to make your own, believe me - this is the book you need. I'm proud to have this book - since it showed me, exactly, how to design and construct all the little multi-bladed fascinating tools I ever wanted. If you want to make your folding knives too, buy this book and back to the bench! And good luck!

The right level of translation and interpretation
Helpful Votes: 14 out of 14 total.

The kit as a whole is invaluable, bringing together "yarrow" sticks and coins with a book that reduces the interpretive material to a reasonable level for the beginner. The summary divination (image) reads well and seems to get the gist of the details over nicely, at least for me. Going to Ritsema and Karcher's larger, more exact translation provides an intermediate/advanced interpretation. One flaw: typos on the quick reference card for consulting the oracle with coins or sticks, mixing yin and yang--check the diagrams in the book instead, which are accurate.

Amazing - Focus, ask, read, and learn

I like this kit a great deal because it provides the tool necessary to properly consult the oracle. Further, it translates the hexagrams into language that is more palatable to the the Western ear. It is truly amazing that man has found a way to query and listen to the forces of nature that influence his life. This has helped me gain insight to many of my most puzzling life questions.

When I wanted to make a career change, this book was my primer on the basics of CNC programming and machining. It helped me to quickly pick up the essentials of this manufacturing process. I recommend it to anyone who wishes to get a foundation or refresher course in the basics, such as understanding shop math, G code programming, tooling, set-ups, speeds and feeds etc. These are the necessary building blocks for success in this field.

The best illustrated CNC text on the market
Helpful Votes: 15 out of 15 total.
Review Date: 2001-10-27
This book is probably one of the best Tech texts that I have yet seen. It covers a wide range of topics and keeps the reader interested with very good photograps and 3D drawings. There are several chapters for beginners to deal with shop trigonometry, metalworking data, blueprint reading, as well as a nice overview of CNC Mill and Lathe programming.
If Peter Smid's book is the best reference on the topic of CNC Programming, this book certainly is a close second for value. This book's contents are not as advanced as Mr. Smid's work, but it is more than adequate for most students in college, university, and apprentices wishing to learn the trade.

Good job!

Peter Eigler
