This book is so easy to use you wonder why you didn't get one of this series before. With only a few props and minimum preparation before you can have a great family night. Your children will really have fun and because of that they will remember what they have learned. Every family should have some time each week to reconnect with each other. This books shows you how to share some great concepts of the christian faith and good character while you do this. It is fun for both parents and children. Even if you know nothing about theology or teacher training you will be able to carry out these fun events with your family. Don't put off family nights anymore. Get this book or one of the others in the series and get started.

Excellent book for teaching/ learning basic Christian concepts. We have four kids and like yours, they are an energetic crew. This book gave us really cool, really clever ideas on how to teach what otherwise would be boring 'Lessons from Dad and Mom'. We've really had a ball. Family fun without videos or, dare we say it, TV. Definitely rated 'G' for Grrrreat. I'd recommend this easy to read book to anyone who is interested in making certain their kids have the basic knowledge/ experience necessary to build a life centered on the God of the Bible. My compliments to the authors... Thank you for making a difference.

Kathryn writes beautifully and makes her point clearly with entertaining marketing examples and analogies we are all familiar with. I was expecting a technical book for people trained in "marketing." This book is so applicable to anyone who has a product or service. Some of the principles suggested can be incorporated immediately into daily communication without further investment. I had no idea how much I'd get out of it.

This book has to be the best general guide for cycling. It takes you through all the steps of how to buy the bike that suits you, what accessories to get and what not to waste money on. It also explains how to setup your bike properly before you take your first ride. All in an easy to understand everyday English. I would recommend only to beginners, but veterans may find some useful information as well.

Getting Beyond the Surface of Dream Interpretation
Helpful Votes: 3 out of 3 total.
Review Date: 2004-03-24
If you are interested in mining meaning from the deepest veins of your dreams, then Box of Dreams is a powerful prospecting tool. It goes beyond the standard symbol guide by challenging you to consider your dream images and story from archetypal, psychological, shamanic and other perspectives. The artwork of the dream cards is evocative and talismanic, and the cards themselves help you make quick assessments about your dream that you can then delve into using the information and questions in the book. What I like most about Box of Dreams is that it helps you be interpretative without sacrificing respect for the power and mystery of the dreaming self.

Great Tools for Dream Interpretation

Review Date: 2001-12-06
The subtitle of this book says it all: "Tools for Interpretation." What I really like about this book and card set is that it gives me the tools to think about my dreams. It's like teaching someone how to fish rather than giving them a fish. Too many other books on dreaming provide shallow interpretations that remind me of bad horoscopes. This approach has much more integrity. The dream symbol cards are excellent. The authors draw on all sorts of interesting sources to put together a very thorough overview of the dream subject's symbolism. The "In Your Dreams" section on the cards includes helpful questions that get you thinking deeply about what the symbol might mean within the very personal context of your dream. And the artwork on the cards is hauntingly beautiful. The book is also very helpful. I especially liked the chapter on symbols and archetypes, and the instructions for using the cards are very clear and helpful. All in all, an excellent book and card set and a must-have for anyone interested in exploring their dreams.

"Building Personal Leadership" is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to improve their personal and professional performance. The author, Joe Farcht, has years of experience teaching this subject, so he certainly has the expertise to write a book on it. He is a certified Master Personnel and Executive Coach and an expert in the Myers-Briggs Personality Typing. The author obviously loves what he does for a living and has built a wonderful life based on following his own principles.

I really liked the approach that the author used in writing this book. He really understands that to get people to perform at the top of their game they really need to understand their own motivating factors. The first section of the book deals with your own personal goals and the importance of writing them down. Once you understand why you are doing what you are then you can begin to hone your skills and work at your peak performance.

The section on Time Management was my favorite as that is one of my biggest challenges at work. For those of us that can do a better job at this, he already is ahead of us with a list of why our arguments about why it won't work are useless. I am really trying to use the skills from the section to better organize my time and work more effectively.

"Building Personal Leadership" contains a lot of tools and techniques to improve performance on all levels. The chapters address time management, self development, communication skills and putting together an effective team to name just a few. I read it through quickly the first time and now I am going back to go through each chapter more thoroughly, following the exercises and really digesting the information before moving on. By doing this, I am finding that I am making small incremental steps that will lead to big changes in the end.

"Building Personal Leadership" is a very effective tool for improving work skills and efficiency. As he points out "it is said that the Chinese definition of insanity is `doing the same things you have always done, you will get what you have always gotten.'" Anyone interested in reading a book like this obviously wants to get out of the insanity and into being a top performer.

There are so many curry cookbooks already on the market today - most from India - that one might wonder at the need for yet another primer on the subject, but COOKING CURRIES offers a different focus which shows curry can be more than a hot or spicy dish, providing recipes for sweet and sour dishes alike, creating variations on traditional curry flavors, and adding new ingredients to encourage cooks to experiment. Author Lawson has over twenty years experience as a professional chef: COOKING CURRIES reflects this background well, adding historical and cultural notes to the recipes and discussing how different international influences have altered curry dishes.

If only this book had been available 18 months ago when I set out into the world of high-tech entrepreneurialism! Not only would I have done things different - I would have done them smarter and quicker. This book contains, in a very easy read, everything you need to get your business venture up and running. The writers know their stuff and are happy to share it. They address issues that I did not even know to look out for, and they do so in a very readable way. Buy this book - even if your venture is not in high tech.

Strongly recommended reading, Customer Satisfaction: Tools, Techniques, And Formulas For Success by Craig Cochran (Project Manager, Center for International Standards & Quality, Georgia Tech Economic Development Institute) is a slim, 93-page compilation of observations, advice, and techniques for proactively gauging customer perceptions and then aggressively acting on the findings thereby acquiring a competitive advantage in today crowded and rapidly evolving markets. Tools and specific instructions are laid out in a thoroughly "user friendly" manner and range from the very basic to the rather sophisticated. Informed and informative, Customer Satisfaction is one of those easily assimilated compilations that will rapidly translate to an improved bottom line regardless of the nature of a businesses products or services.

There were three things I really liked about this book: 1) Every page had something of value on it. There's no filler. I never found myself turning a page and asking, `what the heck did I just read?' 2) The customer satisfaction concepts were presented in the most simple manner possible. Anybody at any level of a company can understand and use the book. Right now, my V.P. of Operations and one of my 18 year old co-op students are reading it, and they're both getting some good ideas. 3) The book includes a wide range of tools, along with instructions on how to use and how not to use each one.

In summary, this is a good, practical book you can start using before you're even done reading it.

If you're looking for a bunch of heavy, theoretical philosophizing on customer satisfaction, then you'll hate this book. If you're looking for practical, common-sense methods for understanding what customers think and doing something about it, then you'll love it. I found this book to be the most clear and concise guide yet for actually doing something to improve customer satisfaction. My company has already begun using two of the methods, with very good results. Highly recommended.

Look at all the nifty tools!

We just received our copy yesterday, and I expect my husband and I will be competing for it until one of manages to get through it from cover to cover. As the title implies, the author covers almost any tool you could think of used for leather working in the last 2.5 centuries, including things like workbences and stools. :) The book is arranged by trade - bookbinding, boot and shoe making, skinningk, tanning, finishing, etc, with the tools alphabetical by general type within each trade. Some of the descriptions are very brief, and the author spends more time in explanations of how more obscure tools are/were used than for common ones - which makes sense. Definitely enjoyable for the confirmed tool junkie.
