"The Truth" is most definitely what this book is all about. I have been a struggling online day trader for about four years now. The stock market has been a complete nightmare for me. I have been reading a lot of books lately, and The Truth About Day Trading Stocks has been the one that stands out the most. Josh DiPietro really knows the hard side of day trading stocks. I feel like he is in the trenches with all of us amateurs. His advice is straight-up, he holds no punches. If you are looking for a book that is gunna show you how to make loads of money with some proprietary trading strategy, then this is not the book. Josh purposefully sways from giving the "golden goose" of strategies that will turn you into a millionaire overnight. He teaches just the opposite, he shows the hang-ups to day trading, he shows all the pitfalls and landmines. This book should be a requirement for all beginner day traders. Unfortunately, many beginner day traders think they are advanced. I strongly suggest all degrees of day traders read this book, especially if you have not yet figured out why you can't generate consistent profits.

I believe that josh"s approach is the only correct approach to daytrading successfuly. In this book he teaches real life lessons learned. His lists of do"s and dont"s when trading are invaluable tools to trade by. He teaches that trading for a living is hard. You must have a firm grasp of the rules, and stick to them, no matter what. He emphasizes pay per share instead of pay per trade is the only way to go. After reading the book I feel confident that if i stick to the rules with correct preparation and dicipline, that i will become a successful trader. Fantastic book.

Wow what a great read...If your goal is to day trade, profit and sleep at night then read this straight from the authors heart, book. This is the most honest and sincere approach to day trading I've ever seen. I could get long winded here but truth be told this gentleman is not presenting pie in the sky. Rather, this is reality, truth, profit and good common sense all rolled up into one good book. If you're going to day trade do yourself a favor and read this down to earth approach to doing so.

If you want to get the right "mind set" for day trading - this book is for you. Josh explains in a clear, concise manner the good the bad and the ugly of day trading. He pulls no punches - in fact he says day trading is not for everyone. He stresses consistency, making small trades often and keeping your losses small. Josh also teaches how to select a watch list of the best stocks to trade.
Day Trading is a skill that needs to be developed and practiced until its perfected. This book will definitely show you the way.

This is the book that really tells it like it is. Having minimal experience in E-mini Futures (negative 3k in one month),Josh outlines a method of daytrading for many small trades a day, plus the psychology involved and a clear explanation of position sizing. The best book on daytrading I've read, bar none.

Easy to understand and a sushi book worth owning!

There are many sushi preparation books in the market and there are simple books that are effective in detailing the steps and preparations specifically for the beginner and then there are some that may have good photography of the sushi but not really beginner-friendly steps on preparation.

So, I was definitely willing to see how "FUN & FANCY SUSHI" compares to other sushi books. With Seiko Ogawa, Ine Mizuno and 2-time winner of the "All Japan Professional Sushi Contest" (courtesy of TV Tokyo), was definitely interested to see how the three would prepare their book.

The book is broken down to the following chapters and in those chapters a good number of recipes of different types of sushi.

1. NEW WAVES OF ONIGIRI (RICE BALLS): Make Onigiri more appetizing - Canape style Onigiri, Substancial rice and side dish (Side-dish Onigiri) and variations with Tempura
2. TRADITIONAL ONIGIRI: Rice mixed with a variety of ingredients, Accompaniements to Onigiri for Lunch Boxes
3. NIGIRI-ZUSHI (Squeezed Sushi): How to make Nigiri-zushi, Gunkan-Maki (Battleship Wrap), Variations of Nigiri-Zushi, Mini-nigiri and Animal-Nigiri
4. FANCY ONIGIRI: Four variations of Inari-Zushi
5. COOKED ONIGIRI: Toasting, Deep-Frying, Steaming, Boiling
6. FANCY MAKI ZUSHI: Basic fancy Maki-Zushi, Fancy Maki-Zushi Calendar
7. ONIGIRI STORIES - History of sushi, nutritional value and more

Right off the bat, this book definitely has a good presentation with its overall layout and introducing the various types of sushi. Many don't have all the pictures, nor do they go into detail. As you can see from the image above on "Canape-style Onigiri", the writers not only feature the pictures of the Onigiri but also showcase what is inside it and overall method of preparing the different types of Onigiri.

It's very important to sushi preparation book where you can see the visuals of the sushi. Not paired with other sushi but separately and also showing you what is inside and giving you a clear idea of what you may want to make.

So, that's one positive about this book that it's detailed by showcasing the various types of sushi.

The next positive that I give to this book is in the actual recipe and preparation. Like most cookbooks, you get the step-by-step instructions but "FUN & FANCY SUSHI" also displays the actual preparation while things are getting mixed, cooking in a pan, etc. These photos are a nice touch to the full color photos of the sushi that is presented.

For example, the chapter on tempura. The writers showcase a basic onigiri with tempura but then show a picture of the prawns and salt being sprinkled. Then beating the egg with cold water and flour and then dry patting the prawn and putting it into the pan and then making a rice ball. These are not just copies of text, there is an accompanied photograph and this is very important for the beginner.

One chapter even goes as far as showing how to make rice, washing out the rice and when it's ready. So, that's what I mean by user-friendly. Really simple steps that the beginners need to know and fortunately, the writers include that. Many sushi cookbooks don't go that far into detail on the basics but this is another positive for this sushi preparation book.

Another chapter is "nigiri-zushi", this is the type of sushi that you would most likely find at a restaurant (pre-prepared). This book shows step-by-step with the actual hands of how much rice is in a hand and then how the fingers are used to flatten the prawn or shellfish right on top of the rice. Again, very simple!

And for maki-zushi fans (rolled up sushi), the same goes with this chapter on pictures showing how each step is made.

"FUN & FANCY SUSHI" is actually a very well-done sushi preparation book and targeted towards beginners and intermediate sushi makers. The step-by-step photography and it's simple communication towards the beginner is what makes this book shine.

Not only does the book go into basic sushi but a few delicious and advance style of sushi as well but again, the instructions are concise, straightforward and beginners will be able to understand it. Again, there are photos with each step to help the beginner along the way.

As a person who owns a few sushi cookbooks, "FUN & FANCY SUSHI" is probably the best sushi preparation book I have seen targeted towards the beginner. I've spent money on quite a few sushi books that don't have photos for it's step-by-step instructions. Just the usual high-res photo of the end product and how it should look like and next to it, a verbose instruction that sometimes goes over my head.

So, I was definitely pleased with this book. A lot of positives reasons to buy this book for anyone interested in making sushi and many different types of sushi as well. Highly recommended!

A wonderful colorful cookbook

I got this cookbook for my girlfriend and myself since we are into making sushi and onigiri. It has a great number for variations on the later, with some very very cool sushi rolls. Wanna do a panda face? A flower? They have some very detailed pictures (verbal instructions just don't work) as to how you fold each set of ingredients into forming the "picture" in the rolls. A great book for inspiring "roll-your-own-sushi-night". A great buy, and I actually got a second book shortly after for my girlfriend to give to one of her friends whom also loves to make rice balls and sushi.

I found the structure of this computer based guide to technical analysis to be very userfriendly and interactive. After learning about an indicator I could "see" how to use the indicator and even better than that I could tweak the parameters to perform my own technical analysis on provided data. A unique book worth it's price.

A very interactive approach to learning technical analysis

The main thing about this CDROM book is that it enables you to try your hand at the patterns and indicators as you read about them. The coverage of techniques and indicators is fairly wide, though somewhat thin at times. I like the use of pop up pictures in place of the lengthy text descriptions found in paper based books. It also has excellent quizzes with scenarios based questions -- which are very useful for building day trading skills. The dynamic visuals and interactive bits make this book more interesting than its paper based counterparts and worth the price.

I'm studying Japanese for just over two years now. I think one of the hardest things is getting the right learning tools. I really tried (and bought) so many!!! Just a small overview here...

I started with the Japanese for Busy People 1 textbook. This was a great book to start with. But I soon found out that it was no good for me at all. There are quite some mistakes in it, and I didn't like it that it was in Kana only. Furthermore it especially irritated me when I arrived at the -te form usage. Instead of explaining, you just have to learn the -Te form for every other verb by head. (the 2nd book is a lot better by the way). That's when I started using Genki. This was such a relief (but you can read all the reviews there, and they tell you everything about how great these textbooks are).

Then I came across this learning method in a Japanese bookstore. It seemed attractive to me, and so,shopaholic as I am, I bought these books. It is called 90 days of Japanese (and not to by the way) and consists of three parts. Don't expect however that you'll learn Japanese in 90 days, as there is way too much information in it.

Every part consist of two books. One is the textbook and is totally in Japanese, and the other one consists of vocabulary, translations of text and in-depth grammar explanations.
One thing I must note here is that the textbook is completely in Japanese script, you must be good at Kana before starting.

Every textbook consist of 6 parts consisting 5 lessons each. So in total there are 90 lessons, hence the title. Every lesson starts with new vocabulary. It is in Japanese only and is supported by pictures. If you after all can't find out the meaning you can go to the english manual. Then there are few texts, which you can all find on the CD that comes with the textbook. Next part is a grammar explanation in Japanese. They show you the form and some examples only, so it's quite easy to understand. For indepth information again look at the english manual. The fourth part is are excercises and a few are also recorded on the CD.

In the english manual, you can find all vocabulary coming out of the textbook, but what is really usefull, there are lots of reference vocabulary sections. This is a real advantage above other books, where you can only find the standard vocab.

Then there is the grammar section, and this is the best I've seen this far. It is a lot though, but it explains every item very clear. For example, book 2 of Genki is quite short in the grammar about transitivity. It is not really clear, and certainly not complete at all. The explanation in this book was so much more helpfull.

Finally there is this Kanji book, that teaches you 450 basic Kanji. It's quite usefull and comparable to books like Basic Kanji by Chieko Kano. There are many usefull excercises, and the textbook forces you to learn Kanji, as furigana attached to the Kanji is gradually left away. This makes it hard, but is again very very usefull. It forces you to really think about the Kanji. Furigana is usefull for unknown Kanji, but makes you a little lazy later on.

After all I think using this book next to Genki (or as a learning tool on it self) might be the best way to study elemantary Japanese. And after finishing the three books, you shouldn't have to much difficulty with starting to learn intermediate Japanese (JLPT 2kyuu). With most other books, there is quite a large gap to cross.

I liked this book and found it very helpful. While it's not for novice traders, the tone of the writing is always friendly and honest. (Most traders sound so pompous and arrogant when they write about trading.) There's no over-promise here, just sound guidelines and lessons. The plastic comb binder lets me leave it on my desk during the day so I can refer to the lessons as I trade. A very worthwhile book for any day trader who's looking to improve his/her game.

This is an outstanding book! Helps the trader learn to develop an intuitive feel for stock futures. Coupling his time of breakout pattern with an understanding of crowd psychology Mr. Smith goes a long way toward making the reader a much better trader. I'm sure I still have a great deal to learn about stock futures, but thanks to this book I'm in MUCH better shape than before reading it!

Even though the title of the book implies its short term trading purpose in futures markets, I think this book is really a collection of technical ideas for entry and exit for your trading positions in other markers as well. The good thing about the ideas contained in this book is that a trader can customize the ideas to his/her individual trading style for flexibility and NOT rigidly 'locked on' to certain parameters. For the mechanically oriented traders, 'Strategic Futures Trading' by Jake Bernstein is also worth the time.
