This book is great! It's a perfect book for parties, car trips, etc. There are questions for everyone at all levels of Brady knowledge. It's so much fun watching others in angst as they desperately try to remember the answer to a question, and even more fun watching someone rushing to answer a question when they swear they don't remember much about the show! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Hilarious - I haven't watched the "Brady Bunch" in years, but I was a bit startled by the way it all came back after reading a few questions. Why do I remember this stuff? Why does the author? As absurd as it is, the memories of such a dumb TV show are great fun.

Wow!, Brady experts beware.

When I got this book I figured I knew every trivia question there was for the Brady's. I was wrong. Where did she come up with this stuff? There is so much detail in this book and it's organized in a way that makes it something you can browse or pass around for trivia questions. I was also impressed with how everything tied back to the episode with all the details from each show. A cool book for any Brady fan.

I have been collecting trivia for a lot of years, and have collected a lot of interesting facts and info about Christmas and holiday music. I didn't expect to find much that I didn't know when I ordered "Christmas Trivia", and was blown away by the range and depth of the information. It is set up in quiz form, with two hundred questions about various aspects of the holiday. The answers are all in the back. This is a great source of holiday fun and quizzes for your friends and family. Teachers will also find this to be a valuable reference to keep students entertained as well as teaching them some fun and interesting facts and legends. It's an inexpensive little book that you'll refer to again and again.

I consider myself to be a true cultural idiot, but after taking some of these quizzes I guess my brain is not as warped by TV, movies and music as I thought it was. In some of the categories I only got one answer right-especially the TV Spin-Off one. I highly recommend this book, it was a lot of fun taking the quizzes and a lot of fun going back in time and remembering some of the goofy shows, music and movies I used to think were cool!

I liked the book very much. However, the irony is that the title of the book is wrong. It is not possible that everything you know is wrong. A more accurate title would be "Many Things You know Are Wrong" or perhaps "Some Things You know Are Wrong". So it makes you wonder why the author would chose such a misleading title if his goal was to bring out the truth. Anyways, the book is interesting and presents some great facts. It is also a very easy and fast read. It is a good book to read if you enjoy correcting people at a party.

this book has affirmed my opinion and observation that conventional science has lamely tried to whitewas the many "missing links" that appear in the puzzle of humanities beginings. Lloyd Pye has presented a most reasonable and convincing arguement for a new understanding of our inception as a race on Earth, our history and our purpose, and our possible future. Step out of the conventional box of thought and belief and chew on some very tasty mind/soul food.

This almost everything, (but not) pop culture book, is really very good, almost great.

It has classic TV shows, movies, top 40 music, Fads,
commercials, classic toy's, classic candy bars, great Icons, comics, and much more, popular and not very popular, about stuff from the 1950's to 1990's.

Babyboomers should have fun browsing in this book, but younger and older should like this book also.

The biggest problem with this book, is putting it down.

A book with, The Beatles, Jonny Quest, Coca Cola, Captain Kangaroo, Gilligan's Island, Hot Wheels, Barbie, Mini Skirts, The Flintstones, and much much more in one book can't be all bad.

Almost everything? almost, and almost everybody, should have fun reading this book.

You can read about things, but if you're trying to explain to a child or someone who does not know, pictures would be nice. I like this book but I will be on the lookout for one with pictures.

Unlike other episode guides, this book doesn't give the useless details showwing every action a character makes. For a Buffy and Angel fan such as me you probably seen every episode and season so you know what's going to happen. This book however does give you unique headings such as Logic Let Me Introduce You To This Window which features all the plot flaws, goofs and stunt double that look nothing like the actor. It also includes Dudes and Babes which takes a look at the cute guys and girls shown. The Charisma Show relives the funny and cool bits that Cordelia does. LA Speak gives quotes on the street talk seen on teh show. Designer Label highlights the fashion mistakes so when you watch the episode again you cna take a moment to laugh. It catches all the juicy details missing from regular guides and has a unique style.
I recommend this book and Slayer ( Buffy version) because of it's uniqueness and is a simply must for any fan.

This guide to the TV series "Angel" is a british book by british author Keith Topping(who also did one for Buffy too called "Slayer"), and it's a good, well put together book. You will definitley have a great time with it. It is kinda funny to read it because it's british, but that's what also makes it really interesting. A british perspective on things. The book has descriptions of all the episodes for the show's first two seasons. Along with each episode, comes a number of categories with it.... which has some of the best of the nasty dialogue. It has critiques and notes from critics including the author. It also features "L.A. Speak", featuring slang used in the series. "Logic, Let Me Throw You Out This Window" is about all of the mistakes and goof ups in the show. There is even a section dealing with fashion and describes what characters were wearing and if they were good or not. Plus, there is just some dialogue. Topping really outdoes himself getting into the specifics of the mistakes, or just little details in the background or in the forefront. This guy really has a keen eye!. What would've made this book better was if there were some pictures. Nope. Not here. That is the only drawback to this exceptional book. Topping is a fan. He writes as a fan. He can be overy critical for some episodes, but isn't that a way die hard fans should be?. A great, fun read with really cool tidbits. Fans should really enjoy this!.

This is an excellent guide to seasons 1-4 of Angel. It has very interesting unknown facts. The one that I was most surprised about was that Charisma Carpenter was almost raped back when she was a cheerleader for the Chargers. But with a gun to her and her friends heads she refused to back down. For a more detailed description of this event buy the book.

I also love how it had quotes from each episode. Usually the funniest ones.

Go out and buy this now!

Keith Topping is the best writer of tv episode guides in the business, and this book is another winner. What keeps Keith's guides at the top of the pile is his sense of humour and his infectious admiration for the shows he writes about. His Buffy guide, 'Slayer', is the best episode guide I've read about the show, and this book stands right alongside it as far as detail, opinion and humour go.

If you want a dry, humourless bunch of lists and facts about Angel, give this book a miss. However, if you want a well written and opinionated book with so much detail that you'll re-read it again and again, then this is the book for you. If you are an avid viewer of Angel, you'll be going back to this book frequently.

A girlfriend sent this to me as a pick-me-up. At first, I set it aside as fluff, but once I got started, I couldn't put it down. The book contains nine fact-filled fascinating chapters, with good stuff on every page. It's fun whether you read a single page or sit down & read it through. The chapters are about (1) shopping, (2) cosmetics, (3) food, (4) sex, (5)the female body, (6) love/marriage/babies, (7) pets, (8) entertainers, and (9) female firsts. The books is jam-packed with facts (and the author respectfully provides the sources for some of the "facts", allowing the reader to discount or credit the "facts" as appropriate), facts like "Forty percent of us women have thrown a shoe (average size: 8B) at a man who has offended us" and "Women say approximately 7,000 words a day; men, 2000." Okay, it won't change your life, but it's interesting, light reading.

The Ladies Room Reader: The Ultimate Women's Trivia Book is a fascinating and diverse compendium of historical trivia concerning women's issues and experiences. From marriage, to pets, to favorite foods, to sex, this remarkably informative 306-page book offers a wealth of amazing and surprising statics, such as 57% of women reporting that they would rather go shopping than have sex. From makeup (the wearing of which goes back at least 8,000 years) to inventions (the dishwasher was invented by a socialite who was discouraged about the job her hired help was doing on her dishes), The Ladies Room Reader is ideal for browsing and would make for a fun and educational addition to personal, women's studies and popular culture reading lists.

Kevin Yee (of the best Disney website on the Internet: Miceage.com) and Jason Schultz have put together a terrific treasure trove of little known facts and trivia about Disneyland. While Gordon and Mumford's Disneyland: The Nickle Tour is STILL the best book ever produced about the theme park, this surprisingly dense effort offers in words a perfect companion to what they provide in photographs. Together, they provide a wonderful two volume reference set about the Happiest Place on Earth. My one and only complaint is that it's, well, organized as a multiple choice trivia book, albeit with paragraph long answers that go far beyond the question asked. I feel that more could have been accomplished had it just been written as a book, and thus I found myself skipping the question sections altogether and just reading the "answer" sections because that's where the true magic of this book is. All in all, it's great. This is one of the first books about Disneyland without pictures that I absolutely couldn't put down! Purchase this at Miceage and support Kevin!

Sure, maybe they can be looked up on the internet or are common knowledge to some, but it's nice to have it all in a nice, inexpensive little book. In fact, my wife and I have taken this book to Disneyland to verify some of the information. If you want a different slant on history, background and secrets of Disneyland, this is a good place to start.

Connecting Unrelated Facts to Connect the World You Want To Understand
Helpful Votes: 4 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2006-09-29
Marcus Chown's recent book, "The Quantum Zoo: A Tourist's Guide to a Never-Ending Universe" deals with quantum physics in a way that effectively uses popular culture references as a means toward understanding the world around us through scientific theory. Surprisingly, this book covers similar ground but from a completely non-scientific perspective by interconnecting seemingly unrelated trivia facts toward another view of the world. As you can assess, both books provide value to their respective audiences.

"Scatterbrained" is another slim volume from the editors of Mental Floss Magazine, a bimonthly launched in 2001 and targeted to aspiring Trivial Pursuit masters. This one takes nine isolated threads of facts to show how you could possibly make sense of the world. Granted, the connections can be rather tenuous, sometimes like an unending broken record on the turntable, but they are fun simply to track just to see where the lines of thought will go. It's a bit like playing a more expansive version of the "Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon" game except anything, no matter how trivial, is up for grabs.

A prototypical example is Chapter 4, "Humpty Dumpty to Having a Great Fall to Getting Put Back Together Again" You see the links between the fairy tale character, hunger strikes, celebrity trials, disasters that occur in autumn, diamonds, pseudonyms, the periodic table, trivia about the Web, the history of tattoos, and historic reunions. It's definitely a meandering journey for a less receptive mind but one that makes sense for any world-class trivia expert who can connect anything with anything. And for them, it's quite a fun read.

Fun, hip, funny and interesting.

Trivia-tastic

Review Date: 2006-07-17
This book is an immense collection of trivia, loosely related by tangential connecting facts. For example, a story about famous downfalls which recounts Oscar Wilde's end says: "But it's not like Wilde was angry enough to start a hunger strike or anything...." And then we're off into "The Greatest Hunger Strikers Ever." Scatterbrained is much like "The Areas of My Expertise" (John Hodgman), except not made-up. And with fewer hobo facts.

The Scatterbrained approach to trivia is very readable, like a talkative dinner guest who goes on endless factual tangents. It's amusing and fun, and offers you plenty of chances to bail out when you've had enough (for example, when you've completed your business in the, uh, bathroom). This would also make a nice (albeit small) coffee-table book, as it's the sort of thing your guests can leaf through and call out interesting, often bizarre anecdotes.

Nerdy note: this book was co-edited by noted Young Adult author John Green. Fans of "Looking for Alaska" will appreciate "Fond Farewells: The Best and Worst of Famous People's Last Words" on page 125, and fans of "An Abundance of Katherines" will enjoy "Math Nerds Gone Wild (And by Wild, We Mean Nuts)" on page 132.
