With this book Uncle John presents to us the perfect mother's day gift. Inviting us to take some time for ourselves with a quiet soak in the tub and a great read. I liked this book because it combines the usual Uncle John humor with bizzare facts and interesting history, but is also has important things to say about the often unapreciated importance of motherhood.

Great fun book which has lots of quizzes to test you. Buy it to impress your mates when the next Star Wars films come out.

From Maynard and Namath to Parcells, Vinny & Chrebet- this book has it all. Leberfeld probably has more in depth knowledge of Jets football and its history than anyone covering the team today. If you're a Jets fan or know a Jets fan this is a must for the bookshelf collection. Every list you could imagine-David Letterman would be envious!

Craig Massei's 49ers Book of Lists is a great reference book.I win all the trivia and disputes with my friends now.Not only is Craig a great writer and editor,his brother Gary Massei(The Kareoke King and Englebert Humperdink of Stockton) is a great singer!.

.... to my shelf of baseball books. For baseball fans and DC residents (I'm both) not fully versed on the long, colorful and sometimes maddening history of the national pasttime in the nation's capital, this is a terrific and concise primer.

Being weather-watchers in our household, we enjoy the daily trivia and the vivid pictures for each month. The calendar is an awesome gift for any weather enthusiast.

It's not a question of "when" but "where". I can no longer even walk to the corner convenience store for a Mountain Dew and bag of pork rinds because of the fierce (yet, impeccably groomed) poodle pack that now terrorizes my neighborhood. Last time I tried, FiFi and her two toy henchmen, Mr. Patty Cakes and Deux Deux, leapt out from behind some bushes and tackled me to the ground. They threatened me with their finely cut rhinestone collars and candy colored toenails. FiFi told me that if I ever set foot on their turf again they would use my liver for their lunchtime fois gras. The other two laughed in ear piercing yelps. I was afraid, very afraid.

Revisit the past, when you read this book. Remember a time, not too far away, when it was "cool" to care about the world, and common to risk one's safety to express these views. Just where have all these people gone? Perhaps, Dr. Yulish will write a sequel and answer the question he has posed. Until then, read this book, and wander down an incense-scented path to this past we all share.

This is one of those glorious books for baseball's figure filberts. The volume provides for the lifetime records of well over 700 major league players (including their minor league records!). It is a statistical treasure trove!

What about Julio Lugo? You can trace his minor leagure record from Auburn of the New York-Penn league in 1995 (.291 batting average) to 1998 at Kissimmee in the Florida State League (.303) to his major league record (e.g., .275 in 2003 with Tampa Bay).

Pitchers, of course, are included. Especially intriguing is the huge amount of space taken up by Jesse Orosco--from his 1978 debut with Elizabethtown in the Appalachian league (1.13 ERA) to an 8.00 ERA with New York and Minnesota in 2003.

It's just a lot of fun to rifle through the pages and reacquaint oneself with the complete records of players from A (e.g., Bobby Abreu) to Z (e.g., Todd Zeile).

So, all in all, this franchise publication--into its 90 plus years of existence--remains a rich resource for the serious baseball fan.

This book can really make you think again when you feel you really know who invented what and who explored what first. This book goes through dozens of subject areas throughout history and tells the truth about who is really behind the inventions and discoveries. Also, each key entry is bolded in the margin for easy searching.
