You know how movies and sit-coms will throw out a one-liner about a porno that is a play on a legit film? (Sadly enough, sometimes these are the funniest parts of the show.) This is an entire book of these jokes, puns, games, etc. You can read it with friends, challenge them to 'pornify' the films in the book.

Or just read it and leave it out on your coffee table and see how your guests react. :-)

Stumps even the greatest presidential experts
Helpful Votes: 13 out of 13 total.
Review Date: 2005-12-20
One of my favorite subjects has long been the presidents of the United States. I enjoy reading books on them and picked up many facts along the way. In high school, I participated in President's Bowl (a presidential trivia challenge) and won. My friends knew me as the guy who was hopelessly obsessed with presidential trivia. While visiting Florida I found this book and picked it up.

Turns out my knowledge of presidential facts wasn't as good as I had thought. This volume is full of information that surprised me and everyone around me. I learned a ton from this book and was able to stump those who knew more about American history than I did including some history teachers! I read this whenever I have the chance not only to keep sharp on my knowledge, but also to pick up more information.

This is a must-have for anyone who likes the presidents or American history in general. You won't be disappointed and you'll definitely learn a lot about the past rulers of the country!

My son age 4 loves to play these cards. He has fun and he is learning the presidents and things about them all at the same time. He can now name the first 12 presidents and some of their vice presidents from playing this game.

Weird facts galore!

After you purchase this product, leaf through the pages. You'll find some well known and some obscure facts about some of the NHL's greatest goalies of all-time.

For instance, did you know that current Anaheim Ducks goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere uses a straw when he drinks from his water bottle during a game? I'll bet you didn't know that Ron Low of the then expansion Washington Capitals was responsible for allowing the most goals in one NHL season. Where were you on December 2, 1950 when Al Rollins and Turk Broda of the Toronto Maple Leafs became the first NHL goalies to share a shutout in one game for their team?

If you're a trivia junkie like me, this book is for you.

Yes, you can do all these things and more with the book Random Kinds of Factness!

At 215 pages, this amusing soft cover book provides fascinating trivia tidbits on subjects like Animals, The Body, Food & Drink, History, Men & Women, Plants, Holidays, Science, Sports, Transportation and much more.

Here is a sampling of some of the fascinating tidbits found in Random Kinds of Factness:

* Professional clowns register their faces with a face registry so that no two clown faces are exactly the same.
* Undereducated presidents are not a new phenomenon. Andrew Jackson, Andrew Johnson, and Zachary Taylor never even graduated from elementary school.
* Pigs kill more people than sharks every year.
* The Incas all had the same blood type (O+).
* Robert Lewis Stevenson wrote Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde during a six-day cocaine binge.
* Before she was a master chef, Julia child was a spy. She served in India and China during WW II.
* The term "freelancing" dates from the twelfth century when knights who lost their employment with royal houses offered themselves as mercenaries.
* Switzerland didn't allow women to vote until 1971.
* More people are injured each year on merry-go-rounds than on roller coasters.
* A simple, everyday yard mushroom can release more than one hundred million spores in an hour.

My husband and I spent several evenings reading this book cover to cover. It was a lot of fun to discover amazing trivia and share them with each other-often to much gasping and laughter. Despite the unattractive cover and one tidbit that was repeated ("Walt Disney's hobby was orchestrating model train wrecks"-pages 38 & 213), Random Kinds of Factness is a delightful trivia book that is both educational and entertaining.

Great read....full of neat stuff

I only have 2 complaints...(1)it was a little short...I'd read the entire book in a couple hours (most of it out loud to my husband or children!) And (2) President Lyndon B. Johnson was a bit of a potty-mouth!
However, I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Presidential history. As a Republican, I found quotes from both Bill & Hillary Clinton to be very humerous! Neat book!
