Honestly, I don't see how you can go wrong buying this book. Its inexpensive and contains EVERY aspect you need to be sucessful: tools and utensils, knife skills, ingredients, recipies, and presentation.
Now I just wish I could find similar books for Greek, Italian, Thai, and so on...

Good Book That's a Bit Scattered and UnfocusedReview Date: 2008-07-23
But the book is written in a scattered writing style, where unrelated stories are strung together and concepts are sometimes poorly defined. The authors take just about any story that that could come up with as an example of empathy, even though many of the stories are really examples of kindness or sympathy instead of empathy. So they could better define the theme of the book, find stronger examples of the points they are making and then write the book in a less short-attention-span style to make it flow better. It often comes across like they each divided up the chapters by theme, then each clipped articles or did a Web search on the theme and tied it all together. Namely, sometimes it is disjointed and choppy and doesn't flow as well as it should. The positive side of that is that you can read just a page or two at a time and don't need to read chapters as a whole in one sitting.
Another suggestion is that the book may have been better if it would have been applied to ALL relationships and not just spouses. The idea of empathy could work with children, adult parents, siblings, co-workers, strangers we encounter, etc. Their focus on spouses is fine but often the points they make could be better applied to a larger group of relationships.
So it's another good book from them but could use some good editing and maybe more time devoted to strengthening their points.

A heart warming storyReview Date: 2007-07-03
I read "The Winds of Destiny" while on a much needed vacation last week. It was very interesting and heart warming. The author does a great job introducing readers to his family members from the past and the present. I still think about the author's comical and touching stories and his positive messages throughout the book. I was also very impressed with his strong family values.
Thanks for such an interesting and uplifting read.
A Moving SagaReview Date: 2004-10-26
I did not know what to expect but was moved by this somewhat moody saga. This story of a Southern family with its' unforgettable members: Uncle Leon, Granny, Aunt Shirley, Pa Daddy. The family secrets are definitely Southern style; they haunt the family for generations. The book is well written. I want to read more by this author. Do you believe in the Supernatural?Review Date: 2002-08-15
The Winds of Destiny written by noted author Willie Tee is a thought provoking and engaging book based on past true-life events in the author's family. The story setting is on a farm in North Carolina near Wilmington in the 1950s. Uncle Leon, the author's favorite uncle, was reared on this farm. The story opens during the tragic death of Uncle Leon in a trucking accident. There is a deep dark family secret that if revealed could affect the entire family. Coupled with beliefs in voodoo and witchcraft this novel takes suspense to a new level.
Uncle Leon was a man who loved life and encouraged everyone around him to live life to the fullest. Pa Daddy and Granny were Leon's parents. Granny was a strong black woman who helped to hold her family together. Pa Daddy was a strict and rigid man who believed that everyone should work.
Tee's true family story is one of great suspense. The scenes where voodoo was practiced were so descriptive. I cried and laughed while reading this book. I loved Granny for her strength and wisdom. Uncle Leon was my favorite character. This is one story you will always remember. Mr. Tee, I cannot wait to read the sequel.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in reading true-life stories filled with suspense. Also visit the author's website for further information on this book and the sequel.

The Master Profit PLanReview Date: 2005-04-28
Daytrading, at least for me, is tape reading, plain and simple. The book stresses that. Erase the outside noise and watch the tape. If your right, great, if not get out fast (no hard feelings, it's not personal).
Also, as discussed throughout the book, I finally forced myself to set up a written trading plan. I read it every morning prior to trading. It has helped re-inforce my discipline.
Very good book for daytraders. Especially liked the stories from actual traders. Seems many of us go through the same problems.
One Trader's SalvationReview Date: 2005-09-05
"What had I done wrong?" I was asking myself. "Haven't I read just about all the trading books everyone is supposed to read? Haven't I tried just about every trading system imaginable? Don't I truly have the passion for trading? Haven't I had several fairly long and satisfying winning streaks?" The answer was definitely yes, yes, yes, and YES again to all these questions. So, how come I'm not making it? That was the REAL QUESTION.
Then I heard about Vadym's new book, The Master Profit Plan. Intriguing title, I thought, so I bought a copy. And, to my pleasant surprise, after reading just the first few pages, NEW HOPE was already springing up in my heart. Here is finally a book that is NOT about how to implement somebody else's system, but rather a book about how to design and implement your own system! My own system! What a novel idea! The more I read, the more excited I became. I began to realize that the missing ingredient needed for my own success was to GET TO KNOW MY OWN SELF! What are my talents? My limitations? How much time do I have for trading? How much do I need to make on a daily basis? How much can I afford to risk per trade? Am I scalper by nature, or is swing trading better for me? Or maybe it's a combination of the two? Do I like breakout plays, or am I more comfortable with reversals? What data do I really need to track in my daily journal?
The author helps you answer all these questions, and many more, through the ingenious use of flowcharts (Mind Maps) that will help you quickly and easily map your own plan. There is much more to the book, with topics ranging from trading psychology to basic technical and fundamental analysis. And as a bonus, there are several real life success stories from other traders who have "found themselves" and are trading their own unique plan.
AND FINALLY, as for me, I've been trading successfully for several months now, and with a plan that is unique to me. Vadym Graifer's The Master Profit Plan has truly been this trader's salvation. Thank you for writing this book, Vadym.

Concise, Intelligent, No Frills informationReview Date: 2001-09-28
Guinan, ahead of his time at publish date, provides a look into what the remainder of the internet boom culture forgot - the internet is not about hype and 'new economy business' - the internet is a more efficient medium and tool for educated people to make educated decisions.
It's a shame more people didn't read this author's work prior to making critical investment decisions based upon the promise of the unrealistic gain of 'the future' but rather based on fundamental investment strategy within the actual markets.
Many should take the time to read this book in the wake of what happened in order to survive in the present market and prepare themselves for the future.

Best book for options traders.Review Date: 2002-12-04
books on valuation that tend to be filled with solutions
for ever more exotic contracts, and books for traders that
go over the practical workings of positions in various
concrete scenarios. Cottle is definitely of the second type.
There's not really much math in it, unless you're intimidated
by three-dimensional graphs. What it does have is an incredible
wealth of insight, from experience, into the tricks and the
exceptions--the rent-a-call, the dividend plays, contract
risk and post-expo deltas, complicated synthetics, the
interrelations between greeks.
That said, what moved me to write a review was to take
exception with a previous reviewer's comment: "No lazy
editing or prose here". The prose is okay, but the editing
is worse than lazy--it's horrendous. Flipping my copy open
at random I come to p.151-152 on Break-Even analysis. Try
finding column 7 in exhibit 4-23, or the supposed arrow in
column 4. It's all a mess. That's an extreme case, but
throughout the text, it's hard enough trying to pick up
the bond options lingo (futures in 32nds but futures-options
in 64ths--all "ticks"; and the different multipliers for
indexes and futures), without having to deal with missing
words, inaccurate references, etc, etc. But ultimately, working
to figure it all out gets you to understand it all the better.
With five years of floor trading as an equity options market
maker, and having read and reread and rereread... Natenberg,
Baird, Hull, Connolly, Cox Ross Rubinstein, Chriss, Taleb--and
others--I'd say Cottle is clearly the best book. That said,
however, I don't know how much use a non-professional--someone
who doesn't manage a large, actively traded book of options--
will get out of it. It should be intellectually rewarding if you
can figure it out. Maybe inspire you to go look for a minimum
wage clerking job in Chicago, NY, Philly, or SF to get abused
for a year or so and then maybe get a badge.

Although this original text was written for professional market makers, it proved to be a valuable resource for sophisticated retail investors and hedgers. I therefore created a new book, "Coulda Woulda Shoulda" (available for free download at www.riskdoctor.com) which borrowed about 80% of the original text and added more tools for non-professionals including an email dialogue with a relative novice, spanning 2 months. Most of the strict market making tools have been removed but will be resurrected in book 3; "Taming Your Portfolio" due out later this year.
