The best trading book ever!

I bought this book for one reason, and one reason only - to see what the author had to say about trading strategies. I appreciated the sections on what it takes to become a day trader - mindset, funds, goals - and the chapters that dealt with info for newbies, like finding a broker and picking a market, but I've been a trader for awhile. It was nice refresher material, but not the main reason I bought the book.

Since I first began trading, I've been trying to find the ideal strategy for me. I've found a lot of elements from different trading strategies that I like, but I haven't found any one strategy that seems to fit me perfectly. Because of that, I've thought a lot about what it takes to create a well-tested, reliable strategy. What do you need? How much depends on numbers and how much depends on your personal preferences? And how do you go about creating a new strategy that's successful in the markets and also works for your trading style?

When I read the back cover of this book, I finally found something that might be able to answer my questions. One of the main elements of the book is that it lays out a seven-step approach to creating your own trading strategy, and I was hooked. I bought my copy right then and there. And I'm really glad I did.

These are the seven steps outlined in The Complete Guide to Day Trading for creating your own strategy:

Step 1: Selecting a Market
Step 2: Selecting a Timeframe
Step 3: Selecting a Trading Approach
Step 4: Defining Entry Points
Step 5: Defining Exit Points
Step 6: Evaluating Your Strategy
Step 7: Improving Your Strategy

I can't really go into detail on each step, even though I'd like to, but the ones that were really essential to me were Steps 3-7, especially 6 and 7. I finally feel like I have a good idea of what a reliable trading strategy needs to be. And I have the knowledge to test my strategy, revise it, improve it, and use it in a way that complements my trading preferences and style.

I'm a satisfied reader, and if anyone else out there is interested in the same thing as me, then I would say this book is exactly what you're looking for.

The Complete Guide to Day Trading is the book you should buy if you are interested in learning about Day Trading. Markus Heitkoetter's book leads by example and shows you everything needed from the beginning to the end. He also lets you know straight up that there is no magic way of succeeding as a day trader.

The book shows you how to create a plan and execute it. He makes it clear that you should not trade with your emotions but rather with a clear head; you need to stick to your plan if you want to make money.

Heitkoetter explains how important it is to create a timetable as well as an entry and exit strategy. The most important thing I learned in his book is that you have to create a plan and then stay with it and focus on the plan, not on your emotions or scares. Keep to your plan and use your strategy based on your plan (not on your fear) and you can succeed.

Very interesting book

I never felt comfortable with day trading until I read Markus Heitkoetter's book. I have gone from the mindset of "cannot be done" to "let's give it a try." The approach shown in this book with the info on how to test your strategy and how to develop a trading plan is easy to understand and straightforward.

He keeps everything simple in his book - I can understand it and follow the examples. Now, do not confuse "Can be done" with "Everyone can do it." You still have to learn and not everyone can be successful.

I especially like the help on keeping my emotions out of trading and sticking to my plan. An exit strategy is included to help you get out and avoid panicking and losing money. The 7 steps to developing a strategy are helpful, yet in my eyes, a bit too simple and not deep enough. I wish that there would be some more info in this chapter.

Some more basic info for a complete beginner might be helpful as well so that you can learn even more.

All in all, though, I would have to recommend the book as it covers just about everything needed.

Is Day Trading in Your Professional Future?
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 8 total.
Review Date: 2008-07-13
Day trading is a potentially rewarding but also quite risky profession. Many day traders jump into their new career role with both feet, but they don't succeed and often quit as quickly as they started. They either end up losing money or they make so little that they cannot leave their day job and work exclusively as a day trader.

Lack of education, lack of discipline, and other factors are among the reasons many people don't succeed when they attempt to make a living as a day trader and this is where The Complete Guide to Day Trading can help. This book explains the do's and don'ts of the profession and it includes graphic illustrations that help explain how to spot trends, how to know the right timing for buying and selling, and how to realize when the time is right to get out of a specific investment and move on to the next.

Day Trading requires discipline, education, timing, and planning. These areas, and others like them, are emphasized over and over again in this book because anyone who is lacking in any of these areas is almost certain to fail. For example, one of the most common mistakes made in day trading is not having the discipline to quit while you're ahead. A person will be trading away and will have made a decent amount of money for the day. But because market conditions are favorable and the money is looking good, the day trader will suddenly feel a surge of greed and want to continue trading. Sometimes, more money will be made but more often than not, the gains from earlier in the day will be wiped out, resulting in no positive cash flow for the day. On the opposite end, the same occurrence is commonplace. A day trader might be having a bad day with losses of a few hundred dollars. Instead of quitting for the day and hoping for a better tomorrow, the day trader will suddenly increase the amount of his/her investments in an effort to gain back what was lost. Panic can then result, leading to even greater losses. This is why discipline and planning are so important. The day trader needs to set a goal for daily earnings and then stick to that goal, resisting the temptation to continue trading.

Besides the advice on attitude, education, and the like, The Complete Guide to Day Trading is also very practical about the science of day trading and it includes many graphic illustrations to help day traders learn how markets work. This is very valuable information and these graphs and the accompanying text rank amount the most helpful parts of the entire guide. Many individuals may have sufficient education, discipline, and planning strategies, but they may have little knowledge about the actual tracking of stock options, futures contracts, foreign currency, etc. This book offers a quick overview of these different investments and how they work, followed by actual graphic illustrations that indicate the pricing trends for a specific commodity or financial security on a given day. Using these illustrations, the book indicates precise ways to spot trends and the exact moment to buy and sell.

Day trading should never be viewed as a get rich quick scheme and I like that the author doesn't promote day trading in this manner. I also like the way he includes evaluations of different software products for tracking pricing changes throughout the day and I like his lists of helpful hints and principles for day trading. Some of the educational material on stock options, futures contracts, etc., isn't as thorough as it could be, but the approach of this book is very practical and hands- on, and it serves as an effective resource for someone considering day trading as a full or part time profession.

I've been studying day-trading for about a year but still found this book to be a good read. It doesn't get too heavy into trading strategies or a lot of market internals but it does give you a good place to start if you're new. It discusses some essential things like having the right mindset about trading (which is one of the most important things). There are two things that the author states that I disagree with and they are:

1. You need multiple strategies for when the markets are going up, down, or sideways.

2. You should be trading different markets.

I don't know about you, but I would rather find ONE good strategy that works most of the time (nothing works 100% of the time). I don't want to have to worry about trying to change my strategy every day, I would have have my strategy be flexible enough to adjust to the market.

I also don't want to have to switch between markets to try to make money, this seems counter productive. Why try to be a master of all markets when you can follow one market closely and learn how it moves and behaves.

Other than these 2 things, I think this book is a good place to start.I would recommend it to those looking to get into day-trading.

Brief intro to top stock traders

This book looks at five historically successful stock investors -- Loeb, Baruch, Darvas, Livermore and O'Neil. The book looks at each of these individual's approaches to trading and you'll discover that they are very similar. They all believe in cutting loses short, buying at new highs rather than buying a stock because it's "cheap." Boik examines and summarizes their strategies or rules for trading. The book is a good introduction to these traders' ideas. If you want to learn more about each of these traders' methods in depth, fortunately each have written their own books.

Must read for an investor

If you are an investor, this is a must read. After all, who better to learn from than the most successful investors of all time. Granted, some of those profiled here aren't investors. In their own words, Livermore and Baruch called themselves speculators. But their goal was to make profits for their money.

It is very interesting to note that the 5 profiled cover investing in the stock market for nearly a century and that all the prinicples apply to this very day. John Boik has made a service by compiling the life stories of these five great traders/investors. It is inspirational for those who want to succeed in the market to read about these indiviudals, their life mission, their strategies, their successes, their failures, the lessons learnt.

I don't want to state what is all in the book. What is great is the opportunity to read about all these five in one place. The last chapter is well written summarizing the strategies of the five. The book itself is an easy read without you having to beat your brains out trying to remember all you read. The lessons are very crystal clear to sink in. The chapter on William O' Neal is a bit longer compared to others.

The book does not explain a combined system of trading, nor does it capture all the trades for every year each of these traded. This is not the point. The point is about the rules/strategies they followed and the lessons learnt. If you are new to trading or even if you in those initial years where you rely on tips and/or using another person to invest for you, you have to know what makes money in the market. For that, this book is a must read and a must addition to your investing library.

I really wish I had read this book earlier in my studies on trading stocks. The author does an excellent job bringing together the greatest stock traders of all time in one place. It is hard to argue with the results of these men, making millions in the markets several times over 40-50 years. Jesse Livermore made over $100 million during the crash of 1929 by being short in stocks, Nicholas Darvas made $2 million in 18 months part-time. I had already stumbled upon Jesse Livermore, Nicolas Darvas, and William O'Neal, and read each of their books. They have all taught me a great deal and their teachings have lead me to profits in the market. I love the way the author has shown the similarities in all these great traders and condensed the lessons to be learned from them in the final chapter. All these great traders bought into the strongest stocks, they did not look for bargains. They believed in buying high and selling higher. They believed in buying stocks with great fundamentals and technical strength. They looked for large price increases on strong volume, they captured there profits on the rise at the first sign of weakness. Thanks to this book I will read the books by Gerald Loeb and Bernard Baruch and continue with my growth as a trader. I will also read all the books about these great men recommended at the end of the book. This book would have helped me focus on what books to read when I began learning years ago. Who better to learn from than the best there ever was?

This book gives you a great introduction to strategies that made 5 of the greatest investors in history a lot of money. I truly find Jesse Livermore, Nicolas Darvas and William O'Neil to be the most interesting but this book covers all of them.

I went on to read How I made 2 Million in the Stock market by Darvas, Reminissences of a Stock Operator and How to Make Money in Stocks by O'Neil, but this book gives you a good overview of the systems these greats used.

It's a pretty quick read and it will get you thinking in a different direction.

Tomoko Fuse is fantastic! I would recommend almost all of her books. This book is no exception. As a lover of origami, and practical things, I can't go past Tomoko Fuse's box books.

I was a beginner folder when I first bought her box books and have never had a problem following her directions. I have also taught the folding or some of her boxes to a group of 10-15 year olds. Although they needed a bit of help here and there, they were capable of folding the boxes. (Some, of course were better than others at understanding the diagrams, but most caught on eventually).

The boxes have endless uses, paperclips at work, shortbread in them at Christmas time for gifts, to hold Easter eggs at Easter.

If you are trying to choose between Fuse's Origami Boxes and Fuse's Fabulous Origami Boxes, my advice is to give in and purchase them both. They do not contain duplicate boxes.

I reccomend Fuses's box books over Florence Temko's Origami Boxes and More!, however, Temko's book contains easier models.

This lovely book is a reprint of the material found in some of Ms Fuse's Japanese origami boxes books and contains a compilation of models from some of her earlier books. The boxes are a delight to make though they do require care and accuracy in the folding and must be made from accurately cut sheets of paper. All of the pieces displayed in the book produce attractive results though some do take more time than others.

I find that Tomoko Fuse boxes once made are excellent for display as well as being great for practical purposes. I currently have several of these boxes on my desk at work acting as receptacles for doctors' dictation tapes and paper clips (what's more they have been there for several years and are still in good shape), and they make great gifts as well.

This is a lovely book which will suit the folder who has mastered the basics of origami and is ready to move into intermediate level work. I still come back to it occasionally even several years after having purchased my copy and always enjoy folding the pieces in it.

I got this book for Christmas last year. I've enjoyed using its helpful diagrams to make boxes for myself and for gifts. I was able to easily follow the diagrams and produce some beautiful boxes. I'd recommend this book to anyone who has some origami background and is looking for some fun new diagrams to try!

This is a great book for origami and box lovers alike. The pictures, although black and white, are very clear and simple. At every step, there's a picture along with symbols, and sometimes a written instruction or two. Putting the boxes together can sometimes be tricky, but if you examine the drawings you will almost always be able to complete the box without becoming too frustrated. Only one of the designs I have not been able to decipher, a wonderful fan-like patterned box....Overall this is a great book with very varied boxes, from square ones with simple designs to octagonal boxes with complicated tops. But whichever one you choose to make, they are always beautiful! Got to get back to my folding!

Required reading in today's economic climate

Although this book is (C) 1994 -- the edition I have, anyway -- it is amazing how the content resonates with today's economic climate.

For example, it tells in chapter 5 how in 1992 the banks were reluctant to lend after being burnt in 1989. Sounds familiar? That was as a result of the bursting of a credit expansion bubble. Also sounds familiar?

I would consider this book to be required reading for traders and investors right now. The semi-academic style might be a little tough on the brain, but should appeal particularly to students of economics.

It's not without humor, and I particularly enjoyed the story of Pierre and Sasson: who traded a horse repeatedly between themselves, each time bidding up the price and borrowing against the increased 'equity' in the horse. And finally sold that $10 horse to a Harvard MBA for $2,700! Very funny, but with a serious message.

This book has been read and re-read many times over. It has gone over with multiple highlighters. The material is solid. It is a little rehash of Trader Vic I but still is awesome material. I use it consistently as a reference guide. I am always learning things from it. Having said that, I do not consider myself a successful bottom line trader, nevertheless, an intelligent one. I don't trade for a living or even on the side anymore, but this is one book I won't donate to the library.

Mr. Sperandeo's books belong to the classics of trading literature, and yet or perhaps of this, they are not as widely known as they deserve to. They combine a superb research, common sense, and straightforward approach to trading that are far from ubiquitous in the literature that more and more frequently revolves about esoteric nonsense, hype, and self-promotion. Not so in these books, written by a master trader and fund manager with outstanding credentials. Anyone aspiring to successful trading should give these books more than a cursory consideration. There is something for everyone in his books, from beginners to advanced aficionados of trading, so nobody will feel disappointed. Their scope is broader than in many other books on trading, which certainly reflects author's great erudition. His gentle style and numerous personal stories from his trading career guarantee that the books are a pleasure to read. These are books that you may want to revisit time and again to learn more or to get a new perspective on things. There is some overlap between Vic I and Vic II, but definitely not great enough to dismiss Vic II as a rehash of Vic I. I recommend both of them highly to all of my clients and to everyone interested in intelligent, particularly long-term, speculation in the financial markets.

Also, after being introduced to Mr. Steenbarger through our mutual friend, he gave me some very relevant advice and coaching in getting my professional career as a hedge fund analyst on track.
Thank you for both your contribution to the literary field on trading and your personal help Brett.

If you read the bullet points above, you have a good idea of what this book covers. Note that you must take these bullets LITERALLY! Where it says discusses, explores, and introduces ... don't expect anything more.

My grouse with this tome is that I have almost finished it and still have not learned how to coach myself "with practical cognitive and behavioral techniques that rapidly change problem patterns and build new, positive ways of thinking and behaving".

If time is money, then the value of this book goes down because it is unnecessarily long winded. As such I can only give this 3 stars.

This probably has to be the most valuable book I've bought to date on share/options trading. Maybe not a lot of new info for the "experienced" options trader, although it may be a reminder even to them of how truly effective certain strategies can be... especially with relatively little risk. But I would say a MUST-HAVE book for anybody else and especially for those considering a start in options trading.

It's a book that gets the point across of ensuring you're getting paid FIRST, when entering a trade, and not just hoping that you make money later.

Here is a book that goes beyond just the theory and ideas repeatedly covered in other books. The tools and methods suggested may not be new, but the concepts are certainly eye-opening, well described, and certainly achievable. It's more a book on how to EARN AN INCOME (more than capital growth) and how to TIME your trade/adjustments-to-trade to achieve this most profitably.

The greatest benefit I gained from this book was that it gave plenty of suggestions and ideas on how to salvage a bad trade, using strategies such as covered-calls, writing puts, and collars (to name the main strategies). He also does a great job describing how to "fine tune" his techniques, by using certain indicators to better time entry and exit points, as well as going through how to deal with the number of possibilities of a position nearing option-expiration dates or if a position was to adversely/unexpectedly move against you before then.

His techniques though are not all about salvaging any "bad" positions still held, but also useful in entering a new trade and maximising profits and reducing risk, through the use of selling options... and insights on how to monitor and profitably ADJUST those positions so as to maximise your returns by the time you exit the trades.

The best thing though about the book is that he uses real examples and goes through how to handle a number of possibilities (negative outcomes as well as positive). One truly begins to understand a trader's thought process and mentality before and after entering a position, by going through his detailed examples.... and it's reassuring that the results claimed can truly be achieved using strategies and means that are readily understandable and available.

The only negative(s) I have about this book, is that Samir doesn't go into the "finer" points about short-selling options and money management and could make somebody feel too overconfident and not appreciate ALL the risks involved. He eludes to them towards the end of the book but these very important points can easily be glossed over by the unwary reader. A lot of the examples he provides are stock/option positions in the tens of thousands... not so risky if you have an even larger starting capital, but potentially very risky if it's smaller and brokerage also begins to have en effect too.

For example one would need to: clarify how much option collateral is necessary to open a particular position, take into account brokerage, take into account "slippage" between ask/bid prices, be prepared for and have a plan to deal with an increase in implied-volatility (something not touched on at all). All these and more, will determine one's starting-off capital and how much risk one is prepared to take per position.... Determining individual risk isn't covered very well in this book, thereby making these strategies and returns, to appear deceitfully "easy".

Finally remember it's a percentage game, and it's very easy while reading his book, to get too carried away with the "tens of thousands" of profits one can make through his strategies... these returns are only possible on large initial positions... the percentage returns though will remain almost constant.

Despite this negative feedback, I still think that the book deserves 5 stars, purely on the excellent information provided. Strategies, their execution, and profit returns, are truly realistic and within the means of most people... provided one has an adequate starting capital and sound concepts of money management

In my quest to become a profitable trader I have read many books on both stock and option trading. This book is unique in that it combines trading stocks with practical option strategies to reduce risk and increase profits.
Most books exclusive to stock trading tend to reduce risk using stop loss points.
In addition to offering insights on how to place stops so you are not a victim of "stops running" and `Front running" traps by market makers (explained in the book); the author shows you how to use options to enhance profits and minimize losses when trading stocks. A chapter entitled "risk control and money management" discusses how to strategically place stops and how to use options as a risk reduction tool applicable to most trades in the book.
On the other hand most books dedicated to trading options tend to discuss esoteric and theoretical aspects of option trading such as greeks and implied volatility etc . Rather than rehashing what is present in most books, the author focuses on simple option strategies that can be effectively used by the small stock trader to improve results.
To me this was a breath of fresh air, since almost in every options book each author goes through the same things (greeks, implied volatility etc) in a different way. This book offered me what I was looking for. Strategies that are simple and practical and help me make money.
There are many firsts in this book. It is the first to offer a practical and simple method to manage long term holdings as represented by convergence/divergence charts. Having heard about the potential explosive profits reaped from short squeezes, this is the first book I have seen offer a stepwise procedure to identify stocks with the potential of a short squeeze . The author also discusses a scan to find stocks reversing from a bottom that he uses to identify low risk trades. He then goes through the process step by step to show you how to narrow down candidates to find profitable trades.
My favorite Chapter is the one entitled "Tricks of the Trade" where the author discusses how to play different trading strategies based on his practical experience in the market.
As another reviewer mentions this book deserves multiple readings and constant reference due to the practical and innovative concepts it offers.

I had began studying this book aside my trading courses and it has been very helpful filling some gaps, especially on technical analysis.
The technical analysis part is very well done and worth the price of the book alone.
This book will teach you also how to get out of trouble when things will not works as planned.
When followed to the letter, the methods in this book are very reliable and successful.
You need to be patient of learning very well what it is written and be sure you are really executing the trades with very good attention to detail.
Probably you will need to study this book as you would do it at school.
Do not rush in to trade just because it seems very doable, wait until you are sure you are executing precisely what is written on the book and that the stock you are going to trade, has the fundamental and technical requirement to apply the strategies of this book. that is very important.
The only difficult part is to find the stock that meet the requirement, But once you find the right stock or wait for the right conditions on your preferred stock before placing the trade, it will work as planned.
Some trades are pretty aggressive, and I advise to do them only when you have developed some experience.
In any case a great book with great technical and sentiment analysis, some very interesting strategies and a lot of examples of real trades. It will teach you how to pick your stocks, how to find good entry and exit points, especially how to anticipate downturns in the market and your stocks and how to protect your gains.
again, I suggest of being very carefully on following instructions in detail and picking the stock and the market trend that meet all the requirement described in the book.

Of course, try of getting the third edition of this book because it is the most up to date.

In any case, for those that are not fluent with "options" trading, I suggest you to read some other books or take courses that teach you the options instrument and its implications, in order to understand your obligations and risks in using options. another important thing that you need to get familiar with, and this book does not cover completely is, what i would call: "options behavior" (for not being technical), which sometimes may be quite unsettling to the inexperienced trader and scare him/her out of a trade even when nothing is wrong, but to the inexperienced trader may look like things are not working as they should.
hard to explain in few words... you need to take your time learning.

Gameplan and Playbook for the Options Trader

Full of valuable insights, rules of thumb, strategies, and tactics to make extra income on stocks without selling the stocks. I am new to options and this book has given me a solid basic education on how to generate cash immediately from stocks I already own. His strategy of selling covered calls and puts on the same stock, depending on whether the underlying stock is trending downwards or upwards, is by itself a powerful strategy to bring in extra cash in any type of market. The author uses real world examples of specific stocks to illustrate how to execute the strategies and tactics that bring in profits. His basic premise is that a successful options trader needs to use fundamental stock analysis to determine which stocks to purchase and technical analysis to determine when to buy and when to sell these same stocks and/or the options of these stocks. This is a book that deserves multiple readings and constant referral to as one navigates the stock market. I highly recommend this book. If you are interested in making money in options and stocks, you should purchase this book and learn how to succeed with the author's many strategies and tactics. His rule of thumb for the successful investor to do the opposite of the particular 'Buy', 'Hold', or 'Sell' opinions of professional analysts was amusing and insightful.

Good strategies, but need to consider downside risk also

The strategies in the book are attractive. However, there seems to be a constant underlining theme: "All the setups will work". There should be more material on considering the downside risk also. For example, in the strategy that focuses on stock with price less than 5 dollars, the trade example only focuses on the amount of profit a person can get when the stock increases in price. There is very little discussion how to manage the position when the stock price goes down.
In summary, use more caution when using the strategies in the book.

I got this book for Christmas because my decks really blew andI wanted a handy spoiler list. This book has just an awesome deckbuilding section! It goes through every component of building a dreamdeck. The spoilers have a graphic for every card, and you can clearly read the card text. It also has a few archetypes, such as Haymaker, Rain Dance, etc. The biggest bonus was the Pokemon Snap guide, it helped me beat it! I would've liked maybe a few more archetypes and maybe card ratings, but hey, it's still a great book!

The book that changed my game forever.

If you play Pokemon, like Pokemon, and most especially, if you want to be good at Pokemon, this IS the book for you.

No book on Pokemon better covers the strategies and details the techniques needed to win the Pokemon TCG (Trading Card Game) better than this one. Author Brian Brokaw offers highly useful insight into every aspect of the game, from Synergy to disruption techniques, plus three tournament-winning deck designs you can look at to see what a winning deck should be! I cannot tell you how much this book will change your game for the better. I read this book for the first time about four months ago and since then I have won six local Pokemon tournaments. You'll be amazed at what perspective somebody else can offer.

Does every card in your deck help you win the game? It can, and Mr. Brokaw will be happy to show you how.

While this book mainly covers the Pokemon TCG, there are other sections on merchandise, Pokemon Snap for N64, Japanese Pokemon games, Mall Tours and more, including a section on the individual Pokemon and trainer cards, along with strategy tips and helpful rules clarifications for each one (a VERY helpful section, especially for the beginning player).

The verdict: whether you are a beginning player with 10 cards to your name or a multi-talented master of the Pokemon world, this book is bound to help you to see new ways to improve your decks and your game like you never thought possible.

I thought it was okay, but not the gripping page turner I had expected. If you haven't already read it, try Crichton's Disclosure.

Excellent book for anyone interested in making money with stocks. It really makes you think. I've never been to Wall Street, but after reading this book I feel like I was there. Couldn't put it down!

Predictable but well paced

The story makes great reading for technophobes, pursuing the idea that a shady team of master criminals could sway the stock markets in their favour via computer systems. The book is well paced but the conclusion is so obvious that the tension fails to build. The book, like so many of Crichton's recent offerings, reads more like a script than a book. Nonetheless, good beack/travel material.

The villain is modeled on Marc Rich; coincidentally I read it and started corresponding with the author just a week before Clinton pardoned Rich. A great anthropological study of the trading subsculture at the end of the 20th century. Very good, and especially great if you're an in-house counsel at a major house who works with derivatives.

A Really Fine Read!!!

If you like Wall Street and financial intrigue, you will love this book. The real beauty of it, however, is that you don't need to be a stock broker or lawyer to follow the story. Thrills galore!

Although these are great miniatures, out of the 6 boxes I ordered I did not get any large rare figures at all. I actually got duplicates of two uncommon large figures! In the future I wouldn't order more than 2 boxes at a time (in order to receive the free shipping). I usually order sealed cases from another site and now I wish I had paid a few more bucks for the sealed case.

Random?

Although Amazon replaced one that I received due to the bottom access to the "huge" figure being already open (which is a tactic used by people in-store to find the more attractive "huge" figures"), I'm still skeptical of the randomness of these boxes. I've continually gotten repeats without ever getting any of the more interesting Huge figures.

Otherwise, the figures themselves are great. I really like having the huge figure in there to give the set something interesting in comparison to some of the other mini sets.

And it was delivered faster then the date guaranteed. The book was exactly like the description. New and still in the plastic. Very satisfied customer.

Expensive, Bloated, But Useful

This textbook is expensive. I think the price is absurd.

However, the information contained is worthwhile. Guffey could have condensed a lot of material.

Things that work in the book's favor are the checklists at the end of sections and a summary of the chapter. Small useful side menus abbreviating useful terminology or steps are littered through out the book; and they are worthwhile to review and use.

Condense the text and make it more affordable. I say to Guffey stop aiding Publishers the in grifting of student's pockets.

This text is enjoyable to read with great visuals and equally interesting real- world examples. I will definitely keep this book. The skills learned from this book will guide me in my career for years to come. Thank you for writing this book and to my professor for choosing this book.
