Jan Coleman shares her personal experiences as she reveals the difficulties to overcome in removing the masks which hide our failures and deficits. No longer just playing a role in her home, her church and her world, her words are an encouragement to move beyond hiding behind a façade and becoming an authentic witness. She liberally shares God's Word which became real in her pursuit and gives us the assurance that God will direct us as we seek to remove the masks in our own lives.

That's exactly what Jan Coleman encourages us to do in THE WOMAN BEHIND THE MASK. Tired of playing games and merely putting on a show? If you're really interested in "getting real," this book shares in a very creative, insightful and helpful way just how you can trade the fake life for an authentic one. The author uses thought-provoking personal stories. In her transparency, she encourages readers to exchange the fake life for a life fulfilling and complete in the power of God. Study questions at the end of each chapter make this the perfect book for a glorious spiritual makeover. I loved it!

THE WOMAN BEHIND THE MASK(correct title on cover) is a compelling, wonderful read! Author Jan Coleman reveals her own story and models transparent sharing. Not easy to do. She obviously cares about her readers. Her book flows with incredible liberating insights. She stresses authentic living as a must in order to find wholeness. Her use of true anecdotes about herself and other women kept me turning pages. Throughout the book Coleman offers Scriptural truths, key quotes and guidance that make a strong impact. She gives practical ways for a woman to let God help her remove her mask. This is an excellent book for women's study groups. It includes motivating questions at the end of each chapter.

I`m 8 years old. I got this book for Christmas last year and read it for a book report. IT IS SO GREAT!
These are the reasons I like this book:
1. It's funny
2. It teaches good lessons
3. It made me imagine. (I even wrote my own sequel.)
I have read many Thornton W. Burgess books and this is my favorite. He is my favorite author.

I just reread the Burgess books at the age of 21, and I still find them as interesting, fun, and educational as I did when my father read them to me when I was little. These books have a timeless quality to them, and once you have read one, you want to read them all. The Aventures of Reddy Fox, being the first of the 20 bedtime story books, grabs your attention in this way. I would definitely recommend all the Burgess books as a must for parents to read to their children. These books are also an interesting way of learning about different species of animals in a way much more fun than studying an encyclopedia.

The key to good engineering is said to be making complicated things simple.
This book does a good job of that when it comes to trading systems, and makes them accessible a wide audience
The author also provides a spreadsheet to help you develop your own system.

Many books claim to provide the necessary tools to trading success. I feel that this book actually provides some of the critical apparatus to succeed as a systems trader. Matt's book provides insider advice into dealing with the long, arduous process of system design. The book also covers critical aspects of investor psychology- can you let yourself trade a system or not? The book has definitely helped me out with developing my own trading strategies.

Edward Bok emigrated from the Netherlands with his family at the age of 6 in 1870 (5 years after the Civil War). He had to learn English and the way of this new country. With the lunch money and bus fare he saved, Edward bought a set of encyclopedias to study famous Americans. He began writing letters asking questions and getting autographed replies from famous figures like Lincoln, Sherman, Grant, Longfellow, Tennyson.... When his father read the reply from General Early as to why he burned Chambersburg and not Frederick, he had the letter published in the New York Tribune.
From the news story about young Edward, prominent people contacted him to read these letters. He was invited to dinner by General Grant, began writing President Garfield and many who later became US Presidents... and upon whom he called on at NY hotels when they visited NY City. When Bok became a stenographer as a teenager, the step to newspaper writer wasn't far behind as he was known by these famous Americans and could easily obtain interviews.
Against all logic, Edward Bok left NY, his status at Scribner's and Son's and Curtis Publishing, to fulfill his vision and destiny of influencing the positive development of the US as the editor of The Ladies Home Journal from 1889 until he retired in 1919 when WWI ended. Bok then focussed full time on improving his new homeland and the city of Philadelphia. Bok wrote several book, established and financed several educational endowments along with The American Peace Award (to name just a few).
The Americanization of Edward Bok (his autobiography) is required reading in many schools...probably at Harvard as his grandson, Derek Bok, was president of Harvard in recent years! Read alone or aloud to older children, you'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll stand in disbelief about Bok's encounters with about every famous person of his time (including Twain, Kipling, Beecher, Lewis Carroll and his beloved Teddy Roosevelt). This book was a favorite read for me at 14 and again at 40. Take off your shoes and wear Bok's for a mile, or two...or more. You will come away a better person, with greater appreciation for this country, inspired to create your own vision to contribute more as a citizen of the US and the world!

this is a great book, easy reading, and some of the lessons (management style, on own life) I got out of it are still appropriate, even today. Though one has to read sometimes between the lines to figure out what Edward Bok's management style and view on life was. A great story how he helped build the Ladies Home Journal into such a success, and how he shaped life and public opinion at that time. Keeping things simple; stick to your principals; presistance in achieving your goals; small steps toward a big vision; review obstacles and lessons learned; letting people do their job, having their instructions clear.
you'll read this book quite quickly.

One of the most inspiring & convincing books ever written on angels that will leave the mind bewildered & satisfied to emancipating heights. It would undeniably indoctrinate the very truth on how little & unimportant worldly matters are compared to the overall scope within the nature of our existence.Pruitt is a talented writer, able to capture the drama & tension of situations with a detached & implying open-minded commentary that is free of exorbitant preaching whiach fequently impair these books.

This book explains the role angels have had, as recorded in the Bible, from ancient times until the present. Angels Beside You has short stories about different persons in different wars. It covers from the Civil War to some of the latest wars. I loved the story which showed the great character of Mother Breckenridge as she went to help the wounded soldiers in the Civil War. I was thrilled to see the protection she received from death when she went out onto the battle fields to save the wounded. The second story I loved was about a pilot who survived the terrible battle of Midway. After he was wounded, his co-piolet killed and his plane badly damaged, he was able by supernatural power to land his plane on the deck of a rollinig ship while blinded by glass in his eyes. Each story is thrilling and different. Each one has very good documentation. I had a hard time putting the book down. Every other person, to whom I have read one of the stories, has also been very impressed by the quality of the documentation and interest these stories generate.

There are few publications out there addressing this subject that even come close to this one. If you are interested in this art form, then this book is almost a must. This author, beyond a doubt knows his stuff. The work covers just about every aspect of the art of knapping, from material selection, to prep-work and step by step to the final product. Clear writing and great illustrations. If you can find a copy, grab it. Recommend this one highly.

Dave does a wondeful job on this edition of the book. Previous editions had some bad imformation, particularly on pressure flaking. Dave likes "the bench technique." I think he's the only one in the world who uses it though. Indians pressure flaked between the legs. Other than that, its a great little book. Biased in most areas, but well put together. Regardless, Dave has been a driving force in the hobby and his work speaks for itself.

We accepted a challenge to turn off the TV and read as a family and this book was recommended to us. What a delight! This book explores a Godly example of a young woman facing many problems - life is not fair, maintaining purity and truth in the face of overwhelming circumstances, being Godly in an unGodly world. Our kids (8 and 4) loved the book and we plan to read it again and again.

I was very excited about this author's first book so I see no reason not to also like this second one. She has 6 basic stitches with the emphasis on peyote in all its types. Three patterns for spiral rope for bracelet, necklace, and lariat. This is followed by patterns in 6 sitches. They include rings in peyote, eyeglass chain and bracelet in daisy, cellphone strap and bracelet in herringbone, necklace and bracelet in netting, earrings and pendant in brick stitch, bracelet and choker in RAW. Two pages on basic tools and supplies which include the latest materials, 3 pages called basic stitch maps illustrating the stitches. Then a "bonus" section on peyote. This includes bracelet in even peyote, ring in two drop peyote, bracelet and beaded bead necklace in tubular peyote and a lovely spiral necklace in peyote. Then comes 3 dinensional peyote with a miniature jewelry box and tiny tote bag. Followed by circular peyote with an applique, and a curly bracelet and frilled pendant. Then odd-count peyote with a cellphone strap, brooch and choker. The instructions include both words and color charts and lots of tips. The beads used are given in both millimeter sizes and the 8s and 11s which are the sizes used in the western world. I think that for the price this is excellent value and is good for self learning or with a class. I haven't made anything yet so will upgrade this review after I have.

Mr. Guppy has a very honest and open style of writing. He does not claim to "have all the answers", or any "answers" for that matter. Unlike so many N. American authors on this topic, Mr. Guppy is somewhat irreverant and emphasizes that trading at the right-hand edge of the chart; in "unexplored" territory so to speak; one has to be aware of the balance between risk and reward; manage ones fear and greed; and embrace and "surrender" to market uncertainty. Using some of his suggestions my a/c balance is up 45% in just six weeks. That's a very good year for most people and there are still 46 weeks to go.
