Stations Books

I am using the Spectrum books to homeschool my 1st and 4th graders. They seem to be working very well for us.

The entire Spectrum series (McGraw Hill Publishing) offers a comprehensive, incremental and grade appropriate workbook series at a value price.
Colorful,readily available, and useful for home instruction or supplemental study.

I'm homeschooling and I could go on the road with the Spectrum books. After trying several different curriculums, I stumbled across these books in the bookstore. They were an answer to prayer. There is an answer key in the back, so I haven't had to haul around a huge teachers edition. These books, all of them (we homeschool a 1st grader and 3rd grader and we use Spectrum Spelling, Writing, Reading, Language Arts, Vocabulary, Phonics, and Math) are exactly what we needed. My first grader LOVES the reading books. We ordered both, the regular Spectrum, and the one written by Mercer Meyer with the Little Critter characters. Childrens books (especially the ones written at her level) are SO expensive, and these reading books come with so many stories, and they have exercises for reading comprehension. I REALLY can't say enough. One thing I'd like to see them do? Add science and social studies/ history and geography to their mix... art and music while we are at it!!

Very nice book. Lots of good info. & many great pictures. Would recommend it to anyone with an interest in station wagon history.

I found “Station Wagons” an excellent read. Very comprehensive and focused covering the birth of the wagon and its growing popularity to its last stand in the 90's and the death of the traditional wagon (a la Caprice & Roadmaster). This book focuses on the changing trends of the time and gives reasons to its rise and fall and perhaps rebirth as a cross-over. “Station Wagons” not only provides a wealth of information on specific models and industry changes, but also provides ample amounts of clear colour pictures (just check out the picture of the 70 Olds Vista Cruiser with the 442 and W30 performance option) and period ads. In all, a well-written book that was focused and clear covering the changing models and industry of a bygone era.

If you like reading about the history of autos and like station wagons in particular, you will enjoy this book. It covers the normal wagons, woodies,the little ones and the big ones, plus some of the odd ball designs. One of the best I have found on station wagons.

Definitely the best book on Bond Graphs that I have used. Straightforward, not too long, doesnt over-complicate things.
I have read most of it cover to cover.

I have used this book extensively for several years, and it is the best reference book I have. I work with multi-domain systems and this book is perfect.

I have a difficult time keeping this book on the shelf. Most everyone wants to borrow it. I work in an electro-magnetics lab and I have found that knowing bond graphs is extremely useful. This book is highly recommended.

This book has everything you need except the folders to hold the sheets. It has colorful cover pages and easy to understand directions. The answer sheets are reproducible. Several of the centers have multiple components so they can be completed more than once without duplication. It has enough centers for a classroom.

As a homeschooling mother of 4 children I value Language Arts. Once again Evan Moor has done a wonderful job making language fun. In addition many content areas are covered in an innovated way. All illustrations are in full color and allow the children to work independently with pride at the finished product. Excellent compliment to our existing program.

This is a great resource for independent center work or for those students who complete assignments early (GATE students)! Easy to put together and easy for students to understand and complete independently.

These activities are great. Just cut, laminate and organize. Fantastic as independent activities or as a fun way to reinforce skills in a small group.

This book is awesome!!! I love that it's all basically made for you!! No copying or coloring required!! Fast and easy to assemble, great organization!! Lots of color and appealing to young kids!!!

These are really great for your students. This is a really great alternative for worksheets. With each center, there is a worksheet and instead of copying the sheets, I have laminated them and the students use dry erase markers with them.

Our school has recently restructured to follow the four blocks model. This book has been my bible. I have learned so much about my teaching!

I bought this book for ideas for structuring my time with my students, but came away with a wonderful reference for literacy instruction. The ideas shared match directly with research in reading, writing, and literacy development. I am so glad I discovered this book!!!!

This is a "getting started" guide to implementing the four blocks framework into your classroom. I have read every word in this well-written manual and it helped me have the confidence to implement the four blocks in my third grade classroom.

This is a wonderful resource to teach nonfiction. I love the colorful overheads that come with it. I would recommend to others.

This book has really changed the way my children read nonfiction. It has increased their vocabulary and their understanding of all parts of nonfiction texts. They no longer overlook the graphic aids, timelines, captions, etc. It has improved their achievment in Science and Social Studies. Highly recommended!

this book is an excellent resource. It is easy to use, well explained and well laid out.

With this book ,Mary Thunder reawakens the heart. Her life is a model of endurance and faith ,in addition,her training as a Lakota warrior is the kee that opens the doors of awareness.

What I like the most about this book is that Mary Thunder tells us all about her mistakes that she made walking this path. It is a very honnest book and the writer shows us what it means to be a Human Being.Even when we are a Spiritual Person, she shows us we are not perfect. A very personal book, I could not stop reading so I finished it at once. There is a lot of funny stories in there.

It is highly uncommon to find an humble visionary, but that is exactly what you will find in this book, coupled with a witty and sharp perspective that strikes home to us all. A real Native American Medicine Woman's life adventure, coupled with a good dash of her own teaching for those of you who are wanting to learn. A New-Age must for all who are seeking a way to reach beyond what you can see, into what you know is really there!!!

perfect for the pre-school i am helping teach. TONS of creative ideas. if i had to pick a book all over again, it would be this one.

I love this book, it is so worth the money!! The activities (which include Language Arts, Math, Science, Music, Art, Social Studies, games, and recommended reading book lists) are all arranged in alphabetical order. Each unit starts with a big black and white uppercase letter page to color (and learn), the next page is tracing practice of the uppercase and lowercase letter, then come all of the activity pages, about 12 pages of activities for each letter! You will NEVER run out of ideas and learning opportunities with this book! Take it from me, I've spent a load of money on several workbooks, flashcard sets, this that and the other, to use with my 4 year old little boy, but honestly this book is all we need, it covers everything! And the activities are really fun and enriching, not boring! Happy learning!

This book is excellent to teach children how to write. Great connections with literature as well. Teaches the 6 traits of writing!

A third grade teacher colleague had shared this book with me, and I had to have my own. There is nothing like having a list of books that teach the traits at your fingertips. This resource is another must-have for anyone teaching elementary students the 6 traits of writing!
