Easy read, loaded with really helpful things. Wisdom is the result of misfortune, mistakes, etc. This book will save anyone reading a lot of pain. Beca certainly has learned valuable lessons, and there all here in an easy to read format. I Highly recommend this to men and woman.

Nice book to teach some vocabulary related to biology and psychology. Some of the topics are Dreams, Emotions, Friends, Imagination, Moods, and ZZZZs. The book design is bright, appealing, and varied. There is a good glossary and index that shows topics covered in more than one letter (e.g. brain, learning, skin color) from A-Z. This book is great. It is filled with all the information you could possibly want in a city. From Location, history, to demography. I highly recommend it for several reasons. It could be of great help for a research paper, as it was for me, or if you plan on moving to a new city, you can research it quite a bit.

This book is an Australian journalist's account of her life in New Caledonia during the height of the native Kanak people's struggle for independance from their colonial ruler, France.
It is simply brilliant!
The author writes passionately about the cause (now all but lost), with great sympathy towards the Kanak among whom she made many friends, but at the same time is also appreciative of French culture. She speaks fluent French, loves French cuisine and has French friends in New Caledonia, thus providing a more balanced view than many others might.
With the territory nowadays "back to normal", and a wonderful place to visit, it is all the more interesting to read of what it had gone through just in the very recent past.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone with an interest in the South Pacific in general, and New Caledonia in particular.

What an amazing concept! My nieces loved the way they got to personalize the alphabet with everyone in their lives. It's real easy to do, and a great "quality time" project - we looked through pictures of people that they know and placed them in the slide-in pockets of the book. It's fun, it's creative and it's an incredible learning tool

Karen Lloyd-Diviny's artwork illustrating Richard Morecroft and Alison Mackay's informative text about the kinds of animals a visitor to the zoo would be apt to encounter is of museum quality work. Zoo Album takes the reader on a tour of various amazing real animals living in zoos. The animals' keepers offer insightful comments about a Komodo dragon so fearless that the keeper could simply take it for a walk to its new cage rather than ship it in a box, and the tasmanian devil who loves to scavenge, a talent her keepers encourage by dragging the food around her living area and putting it in a different hiding place every time. A fact-filled picturebook introducing young readers to amazing facts about truly fantastic animals.

I used to read this book over and over again as a child and it's sad that I went for so many years without touching it! Upon rereading I was swept away to the backwoods South in a boyhood adventure of hunting, childhood, and friendship.

On the surface it appears to be the usual boy-and-dog story, but it is so much more gripping as it explores Billy's relationship with the world around him as he grows up in a classic coming-of-age scenario.

It's fun, gripping writing full of personality and passion for the South and its characters, and full of such honest emotion it will blow you away.

This was my favorite book as a child and I was very happy to purchase it to read for myself and also for my children.

Wilson Rawls has written a timeless classic that will entertain and delight readers of all ages. I wish I had read this story earlier.

Wilson Rawls could have been the second coming of Homer.


The religious theme was quite interesting.

Being an avid reader my whole life, I don't know how I skipped over this book as a kid. Recently I decided to brush up on some classic literature, and I grabbed this off my bookshelf...wow. This has to be one of the most AMAZING American tales of all time...and it's definitely in my top five books ever.

Warning: it has a little flavor of Bridge to Terebithia in it because of it's terribly bittersweet ending...but it is well worth it.

The writing style is so easy to read and so engrossing, it's like the author is actually sitting across from you telling you the story.

This is a slice of Americana that all kids should read...it captures the Ozarks and the heart of a little boy who loves his dogs so well! The fact that the main character had to work so hard for what he wanted is such a wonderful message to kids today.

Where the Red Fern Grows is a little piece of the American dream, and it is a must read for everyone. No questions asked.

I bawled my eyes out for about a week after reading this. Despite, it's my favorite book of all times. It's a must read for any dog lover.
